  1. With Frenchies it always happens with the milk coming out of the nose, being flat faced is a draw back, but I supervise the feeding and as it starts to come out of the nose I wipe it away, pup still on teat, so as they do not panic and get milk on the lungs, also if my bitches have too much milk I express them, do not save the milk though as fresh is best.
  2. Any Bracchy breed should not be given pigs ears or anything like that, as when they have been chewing on it for awhile it goes very soft and if they decide to swallow it it can block their airways and of course I need not tell you what happens then, I have known of a couple of Frenchies and a British Bulldog who have lost their lives from being given this sort of treat, even if you are there it can be tough getting it out in time. So DO NOT give your Bulldog those sort of treats. As for the Bracchy's again re chicken wings and necks, because of their short airways and flat faces they cannot handle chicken wings or necks unless cut up into small pieces, known of Frenchies also dying from one getting stuck in the throat and the owners could not get it out in time, so hence cut them up in bite sized bits, none of my dogs have ever had pigs ears, their chicken wings and necks are cut up as described. The Kong is a blessing to keep puppies and dogs happy especially our flat faced friends.
  3. I have had great service with Cryogenes. In the UK they did not do pellets, I do not think that they do pellets there. I used Cryogenes twice, once to send semen over to the UK and the second time to bring semen in from the UK.
  4. What a wonderful outcome for Reba and you, six gorgeous babies and all well, after such a dramatic turn of events a couple of weeks ago, just goes to prove with quick action and a wonderful vet you have this amazing result. Reba you are an and so are your beauitful babies.
  5. What a beautiful dedication you have made for a beautiful girl, it is just so hard to say goodbye to these wonderful creatures especially when you have had her in your lives for so long. Rest easy at the beautiful Indiana Paddle Dog.
  6. My dogs are fed fresh human consumption meat, mostly raw, I make my own meat loaf and treat biscuits, never have my dogs had any health problems, my vet agrees with the feeding program that I have, they go over for their yearly health checks and the boys for matings.
  7. What absolutely stunning babies, love their markings. For the precious little girl that did not make it, that was good management by you keeping such a close eye on your girl and detecting that all was not right with her, I have hand reared puppies myself, it is time consuming but oh so worth while when you see the results of your dedication as in that lovely picture of them, does your heart good.
  8. Precious little girl, you are a lucky girl with that beautiful birthday cake. Love from Caoimhe and her five babies and of course me. You are especially special.
  9. Maybe that particular dog you are interested in is not on there, so then you can work this site if you know perhaps his parentage, you can work things out going forward, it is better that you do know the parents or a dog in particular that he would have in his pedigree to work his heritage out, it is a very addictive site for me, I could spend hours on there, it also lists siblings and titles of the dog and his/her offspring, have fun with it.
  10. There is a site for different breeds, it is set up in Russia but it has the site in English, it is my bible for Frenchies. The site is Ingrus, once a dog is registered on there, who knows the boy you are looking at could be on there if his owner has registered him, when you have the dog up you scroll down to the bottom and there is the extended pedigree most times with pictures of the dogs on there and if you keep clicking on a dog in the pedigree it takes you way way back, an amazing site. Costs you nothing to join, it is a bit like doing your won family tree.
  11. SLF I have been intently following the outcome of that dreadful experience of snake bite with your girl so close to whelping. Now for four beautiful babies to be born, give your precious girl a hug from me. and also too you, you both deseve a happy outcome after all of that.
  12. He is just gorgeous :) I can see why he is your heart dog and he is worth every penny spent on him.
  13. They are just gorgeous, long time since i have seen a litter of British so young. :) Best of luck with them.
  14. So pleased to hear that your beautiful Bulldog babies have arrived, how many and what gender are they? Of course we must have some pictures when you have time. All the very best and congratulations to you and your beautiful girl.
  15. Not necessarily Minimax, there are good breeders in Qld., you just have to know who.
  16. Danois read the OP again. They said they were in Qld. and said they would fly the puppy from Melbourn
  17. Hi, I have owned French Bulldogs for 32 years so I know who breeds genuinely good Frenchies. I know two breeders in Queensland, one has a litter of four males and the other had a puppy advertised here on DOL If you could pm me I will give you details, they are from imported and tested stock.
  18. Gorgeous boys they have each other and left broken hearts behind. RIP Struppie and Strolchi together again.
  19. I have had two singleton litters and hand raised another singleton for a friend. Two of the bitches were not interested in the puppies at all, these two babies I bottle fed one after five days of frustration with the bitch not wanting anything to do with the puppy, with this puppy he was being supplement fed with Biolac,so I sent the bitch home to the owner and reared him successfully and he was loved and socialised with my dogs when he was old enough, he is very people orientated. With my two singleton litters, the first one was as above, but she never came into milk, that is until about three weeks later, by then of course this baby was doing so well I only then fed the Mother as if she did not have a baby and the little milk she produced dried up in days. The second girl of mine she had a premature litter of three and within 48 hours of whelping the two very small babies had gone to the rainbow bridge, but this lovely girl raised her puppy naturally no supplement feeding she settled right down to the job of raisin g her surviving baby. Personally if this was my bitch I would give her a chance to rear her baby, but should it not go smoothly I would get Biolac in and hand raise the baby yourself, and do as I did with the girl of minAs for e who did not want to nurse her baby I at least let her do all the toileting so that they build a bond, it would be cruel to take her baby away, of course you would have to be home 24/7 until the baby was reared to eight weeks. As for the repro vet all their knowledge is from a book and more often than not never had hands on experience, and of course the breeder of your girl could have been in his ear. As others have said, DO NOT give your girl a stuffed toy with the scent of the afterbirth, it would do her head in and you would have a dog suffering post natal depression, her baby stays with her.
  20. Well I would never used Dogtainers again after an incident back in 2002, I was exporting a puppy to the UK and this was in the middle of winter, he got to Singapore in the evening, of course temps there are still high, he was left on the tarmac for almost three hours and he suffered the same fate as this dog, also there was another dog going to the UK from WA she read the article in a canine publication about what had happened to my dog, she thought that it was an article about her dog going to the UK whom also died in Singapore, she contacted me and also the people in the UK expecting these two dogs that had died in Singapore, we tried to sue both Qantas and dogtainers, but was unsuccessful because of what the airlines will throw at you "Warsaw Convention" which covers them from legal action in the regard to animals travelling on their airlines. I too was told that he would be well looked after by Dogtainers, air conditioning etc., it certainly did not happen, all that my friend in the UK got was small compensation from Dogtainers, I guess to save their "name" since then I have sent a couple of dogs to the USA and NZ, and used Jetpets with no problems and I have used Virgin and seen for myself that the puppies are left in the office airconditioning until time to fly. But I always look at long term weather forcasts for here and their destination, personally I prefer that my puppies are sold locally and picked up by new owners.
  21. Absolutely precous photo of tbat dear sweet lady and an equally beautiful Dezzy, she will have a smile on her face every morning looking at her favourite boy. Such ashame not having family here in Australia, but at least Dezzy and you have given her a reason to wake up every morning. Thank you for being so kind and thoughtful.
  22. I use Biolac Blue for puppies, I get my vet to order it in for me, have had wonderful results in hand rearing a puppy on it for a friend earlier this year, always have a container of it when a ltter is due, if I do not need it I use if for the puppies when weaned. Also sometimes in a litter there maybe a smaller puppy that seems to not be doing so well, such as with the litter I have here now, gave her a couple of feeds with Biolac and now you would never know that she was having a difficult time. Pet Network in Victoria have it also Pets on the Park in NSW.
  23. So Sorry for your loss of Poncho, such a sweet little man. Sadly I had to make the same decision for my old fellow Finningan on Friday just gone, 11 years old and suffering the same problem, so I do know what you are going through right now Poncho and Finn are now together as new residents at the Fly with the angels beautiful boys.

I bought this too, ended up in the bin after a couple of times trying it on the food, also mixing it with water, when you do this it looks disgusting.
