  1. I saw them at Crufts and was very impressed with the construction, the easy clean and to be able to store as a flat pack. I was looking at them as a whelping box and with the particular company at the show you could also purchase a puppy run to attach to the box, wish I had bought one now.
  2. The lady who was attacked is a very close friend of mine and had a long chat with her last night, she is fine just a bit sore and stiff, she was taken to hospital by ambulance and she said that they flushed her wounds out and gave AB's and a tetanus shot, she had not had one for years, her sister stayed on at the showgrounds for the second show and took the Westie in for exhibition and all was well with her. I was actually at the show with my baby Frenchie whom the sister showed for me and saw it all. The victim at the time, after she had been attacked, kept on saying to us in the tent that she did not want it to go any further as it would shed a bad light on dogs once again. Channel 7 kept ringing her during the day to try and make a bigger story of it than what it really was, stating she had a Staffie, think they were disappointed when she said she is a little Westie and how dare they try to implicate another beautiful breed. Guess that is journalists for you.
  3. You are correct, she can only be shown on the last day of the three day show, she is still under age for the other two, babies must be three months old before being entered into shows.
  4. The semen is stored with Angelika, so it has to come out from her clinic. Cryogenes are a great company to deal with as they were the company that brought the semen from her clinic out to me all those years ago, with my last attempt to bring back some semen not only was I getting frustrated with the lack of communication they were as well, she just does not seem to get her act together.
  5. I imported semen through her about six or seven years ago, I wanted to bring some semen back that I had previously sent over to a friend, it was stored with her, it took so long for the paper work to come through I just decided to forget it for awhile.
  6. When Merry moved from NSW her first home in this state was right next door to us, she was an amazing lady and a wonderful nieghbour, she only stayed for about 12 months until they bought their own home I think it was in Glengowrie. Whenever I was at shows and went past ring one, she would always come over for a chat and that wonderful hug. Rest in peace Merry and I know that David will love and care for your precious two and four legged family.
  7. I had this problem with one of my Frenchies years ago, same thing happened to Bear was treated with abs and it would go away, but would keep on returning, so when it came again, and for the last time thankfully, my vet put a drain through his cheek, kept up with medication, once it was drained it never came back, Bear would have been about three years old and he went to the bridge nearly four years ago aged 13 years.
  8. I agree with what Cowanbree said, start with a dog not a bitch. I have had my breed for over 30 years, if someone contacts me for a bitch puppy, especially these days with them becoming too popular, I immediately tell them that the bitch will be on limited register and has to be desexed, usually I do not hear back from them. I will not sell a bitch puppy entire now only to people I know and trust, I would be open to selling a male in co ownership for someone to get a start, but never ever a bitch until they have proven to me that they are trustworthy and genuinely are interested in my breed for all the right reasons, then the bitch also goes in co ownership, in this way I have a say on when she can be mated and to whom.
  9. My vet has always said do not vaccinate and worm on the same day, do worming a week before or the week after but never together. I would be giving her a pro biotic, I use Fauldings brand, helps to put a good flora back into the tummy.
  10. Can you find a repro vet, we have one here in SA who does the tubal ligation, it works really well and also vasectomies on the male puppies, I agree that it is less invasive.
  11. :birthday: Sweet precious Odie from Caoimhe and her baby Hattie.
  12. Beautiful shots Leanne, the exotics are just magic cats, my grand daughter in NSW has a beautiful tabby girl named Lou Lou, whenever I am up there on holidays she always loves to sleep with me with her head on the pillow no less. :)
  13. Frenchie babies due any time from this Sunday 16 th November.
  14. Whoops just read your post again and it is two months not two weeks, yes get in contact with DogVic tomorrow.
  15. If you have only had your pup for two weeks you have not given the state authority or the breeder time enough. Some breeders do not register the puppies until the whole litter is sold and secondly it can take a couple of weeks for the state body to do the registering. I would wait one more week, seeing as the breeder has said they will post it to you as soon as they have the papers for you, then if nothing has arrived contact DogsVic.
  16. Perfectly normal. I have a four year old next to me right now having her usual nap and that is what she does most of the time unless I move and she is up and away. On the other hand her daughter is a tear away for about 15 minutes then all of a sudden she is sound asleep on her bed and will sleep for many hours, she is 11 months, in all the years I have had Frenchies, that is many many years, this is what they do, eat, sleep, play, cuddle then the toilet routine and back to sleep, with a litter they would sleep most probably 23 hours a day only waking up for their feed and Mum to clean them up after, most of the time they fall asleep on the teat. :)
  17. Beautiful Chaos from me and the Frenchie gang
  18. Our Foodland stocks them, I am in the Southern foothills, and they will always make a regular order for you.
  19. I have imported dogs from overseas, UK and Europe, the two kennels were and still are right up there for breeding top winning stock. With the first one from the UK my husband and I were doing a trip to Ireland and UK to see his relatives so we timed it that the puppy we eventually brought in was around nine months, we went and visited the breeder and her dogs and spent a wonderful afternoon getting to know our boy. With the second one the reputation of this kennel was well known amongst our breed. I would take a trip to NZ for a couple of days prior to the puppy leaving, pay them then as I did with my first, in cash if you are really satisfied with the puppy, it is a very expensive exercise.
  20. With a French Bulldog Royal Canin and Eukanuba have kibble specifically produced for the breed. I use Royal Canin French Bulldog kibble, used to use the Junior, now able to get the specific kibble for them, doing really well on it.
  21. This is not for me, we are concentrating on health issues and the problems are being overcome. I can see this lot of people recognising undesirable colours and changing what our breed looks like.
  22. With the chicken you must also have the rice, the starch in the rice helps to bind the problem up, I cut up chicken fillet into cubes and add a 1/4 cup of rice, cook together on low heat and just stir every now and again, cook until the rice has absorbed all the water. I give a half of pro biotic capsule, for a baby, you have to open it up and scrape out half give that to your baby in a smidge of honey, honey is also something that helps with the stomach flora, give this to your puppy in conjunction with the chicken and rice, do not re introduce kibble until the problem is fixed. Can take up to five days.
  23. :) That has put a smile on my face, what a gorgeous little boy and I love they way he sings the song with that beautiful Irish accent, my husband is Irish, just beautiful.
  24. You follow what the puppy has been reared on and as others have said if it is doing well on it stick to it. I feed a mixture of raw and Royal Canin for French Bulldogs, yes they have one specifically for the breed, and mine do so well on that. I rear my few and far between litters right from the start on raw human grade premium mince and soaked Royal Canin Junior, I never feed puppy kibble too much protein for a Frenchie, a top breeder in the UK gave me that information years ago and my puppies have thrived on this, of course as they get older you can introduce other meats, be warned to not give your puppy any pigs ears and things like that to chew as when they get all wet and soggy it can lodge across their wind pipe, I get for the puppies and each one goes to their new homes with one, a Kong which you can put treats into, good for teething and keeps them amused for ages trying to get the treats. If you want my feeding chart just pm me then you can compare it with the feeding instructions from the breeder of your puppy. I never feed puppy porridge or Farex, but they do get yoghurt for their supper or a drink of goats milk. Best of luck with the Frenchie baby.
