  1. Dear God what do they think they are doing to such a majestic breed? I usually have Danes behind me in a group line up and I have noticed over the years, except for one breeder here, they are losing their elegance. I think it is up to the judges not to promote this Euro type in the ring but continue to put up the elegant ones, nothing lovelier than to see a Dane glide around the ring, if they have the courage to keep putting down the Euro then maybe the breeders will stop ruining a beautiful breed.
  2. Oh how sad for that poor baby boy, how lucky he was to have a wonderful new owner who would have done anything to give him good health, he was so lucky for the three months that he lived with this amazing lady and to know what true love and caring was. There has been a spate of people recently on here buying xbreeds, I have nothing against them have owned them myself when I was a kid and loved them almost to death :) :) but then in those days they were given away to good homes and usually from someone you knew, did not cost the ridiculous prices people are asking for "dezinerlabel" breeds with ridiculous made up names, a new one appeared in the Advertiser on the weekend, Matalier. It would do these couple of people who have asked for help over the last week with their new puppies who are crossbreeds to read this story. Thank you for posting.
  3. Congratulations, they are just such adorable babies. :) :angel Love your Sarah.

    Bill

God bless dear Bill, what a beautiful face. Rest easy beautiful boy at the a rest well earned.
  5. Now that you mention that it has jogged my mind, a friend of mine with Frenchies, the last two litters her new vet did the same as yours, left the placentas there, will have to ask her did she see the placentas passed. Her two girls were fine. I would say that after all this time your beautiful Neko will be OK. Just wondering if this is a new procedure, it has been over two years since a litter has been born here will have to ask my vet next time I am over there. Just gorgeous babies BTW I have a pet Iggie, she is my husband's walking and couch companion, she will be eight years old in April, CBL's boy litter sister.
  6. There would not be any retained placentas if she had a C section, they usually come intact with the pup at delivery. With my breed most bitches have c sections and with my own girls I know that this is what happens as I am usually at the delivery, always bring one home to rub on the pups so as when the dam is coming around and wondering what the little gremlins are she realises they are her babies. :)
  7. I use themes for each litter so each puppy is allocated a name within three weeks of birth, their pet name is not mine to choose, their pedigrees are sent off once they are microchipped usually at about seven and a half weeks, once I have the microchip numbers,I register the litter, as soon as the pedigrees come back, they go back with the new owner details same day post and they have the papers about the same time as the puppy arrives home with them. With the micro chip paper work I take the details of the owners on the day and the receptionist fills in the new owners details on the back and posts them off. With my breed I never have to advertise and as I have been in the breed for 33 years I am well known for for my puppies here and around the world, from health tested stock, I always have a good long waiting list and because I do not breed very often, maybe every 18 months to two years, I more often than not get puppies from reputable breeders for people on my waiting list. It is just called good organisation.
  8. Qld. must be a bit different to down here. When I sell puppies I have the new owners details before the puppy leaves the home, so there are no hold ups in getting the pedigree off to the new owners, I fill in the back of the pedigrees with the new owner details and send them all of to DogsSA, they post the pedigree off directly to the new owners and not back to me. I have been doing this since I started breeding back in 1970, the new owners usually get the pedigree within a week or two.
  9. I am wondering if she is in fact a registered breeder with the ANKC, why in heavens name would they just give you copies of the parents pedigrees and not your puppy's pedigree:confused: To me she is not registered by doing this, if this is the case you will not get a registered pedigree for your baby.
  10. I feed raw and have just switched to a new kibble, it is grain free, eg wheat corn rice, it is made in Australia it is called Ivory Coat. They are doing well on it too, also every bag sold they make a donation to farmers in need. All ingredients are sourced here in Australia. If you go to their website you will see the various flavors, I am using Venison at the moment, also, they will send you free samples. :)
  11. Thank you Oakway for your concern that I may have been given Scourban, but my vet is one of the best. I have never had to take antacid so was not aware that the Peptosyl from the chemist was white.
  12. As I have said in previous posts, I get Peptosyl from my vet, anything that I get for my dogs is from my vet, if he recommends something from the chemist then I will then use it.
  13. Oakway I know that Scourban is pink but so is the Peptosyl that I get from my vet. Scourban is too drastic for young puppies that is why he prescribes Peptosyl which as I said before is also pink.
  14. I have used it over many years to treat dogs when they get loose motions, works a treat for that. I would definitely be changing your vet, you need someone with more experience, self diagnosing is not a good thing, you could do more harm than good, find another vet before starting to give this too your dog. The Peptosyl that my vet has smells more like peppermint and is pink in colour.
  15. Did not know that either. But I do know that scammers go into peoples web sites and take photos from there to make them look genuine breeders, hence I took my web site down after being used in a scam a couple of years ago.
  16. I totally agree with you re puppy farmers that are registered breeders with the Canine Assoc.around Australia, they are in every breed, also juvenile desexing is not the best, just have to be very careful to whom you sell too, the people mentioned in your first post definitely would not be contenders for a puppy from me. You can have contracts, one for main and one for limited, the new puppy owner has a copy and the breeder both to sign in front of a JP, not too difficult to do.
  17. Wonder if she has had a stroke? I wish you all the best with your precious girl and hope for a good outcome. Seven is not an old dog.
  18. Why would any one want to sell a puppy to these people who seem to be not the ideal people to have a puppy seeing as they are already thinking of breeding and not even got the pup. I would not be selling any of mine to a person with that mind set. I would be telling them that the puppy will be coming desexed to them and on limited register, which of course means no breeding or showing. Hopefully the breeder of these puppies will do the above to protect the breed.
  19. I personally think that he is too young to be left at home by himself for eight hours a day. I do not sell my babies to anyone who does not have someone in the home most of the time, they need to be fed on a regular basis during the day, could injure themselves if left to be able to access the back yard, with hot weather could suffer from heat stress, these are just some of the things that babies have to be monitored for.
  20. I feed raw, minced beef and chicken, lamb or beef heart, lamb tongue, chicken necks, add veg fruit raw egg flax seed oil, also a product called Missing link.
  21. When the injection for heart worm came onto the market l had one of my girls immunised with the injection, would never use that method again, she got the biggest lump on the back of her neck and was off colour for several days, the lump took at least three weeks to disappear, I advise all of my puppy buyers to never use it, use Heartguard, just put the chews as a treat and all my kids line up for it with great glee.

    Mac

What a beautiful tribute to Mac. I followed his story during his last few months as it sounded just like how my heart dog was in the end , so I knew how you were feeling. You were such a lucky little Westie to have found your devoted Mum.
  23. Kerry Blue terrier. Developed in County Kerry Ireland, they were farm dogs. On one of my trips to Ireland I went to a couple of dog shows and saw them untrimmed.
  24. Maybe he has dementia, those symptoms sound a bit like it could be that, I had one of my boys suffer from dementia for a short time before it was time to let him go.
  25. I have had my puppy pen for years so do not know if they are still available, but is a C crate pen, it is very sturdy and has a lid on it the lid is in two halves attached to the body of the pen, when I need the lid on they clip securely to the pen, there is no getting out. The thing is they do not have pegs to keep it in place, but you could buy tent peg type and attach it to the decking.
