Haha that's awesome! I like Zebedee too but that was the name of my hubby's beloved cat that one of my dogs killed :-/ so ill steer clear of that one I think.

Actually I love the name Cohen. But it's a hooman name!
-
Hehe that's funny! Not sure the rotti would have liked it though! It's for a Whippet. Rush and Odin are already taken for whippets.

I've gone off naming dogs human names like Max,Cooper etc (not that there's anything wrong with them!). I quite like unusual, mythical, regal, strong, easy to pronounce and easily heard by the dog names! So, want to hit me with some name ideas please? :-D

"the Tail End" - S B S Insight Tonight

Yes, i started a thread about it at the time but had to delete it because i raised merry hell about it all and posted about it on social media and it got back to the RSCPA CEO who threatened litigation. I never found out what happened to Izzy, i took her and the pups in for a health check one day, went back to collect them and they refused to let me have them back. I was told it wasnt healthy for Izzy to be with me any longer because she was bonding to me and they wanted to temperament test her away from me ... in a kennel situation ... still feeding 4 week old babies - yep, grand idea!! Then they expressed concerns about the pups temperaments and wanted to assess them. I kept calling for updates and wanted to know when i could have them back and they never returned my calls. I then find out through a vet friend 2 weeks later that they had euthanased all but one puppy for "neck pain" and temperament issues. They were also concerned about Izzys temperament and im guessing she was euthed too. Because i caused such an uproar about it and many people who had been following Izzy and her babies also gave the RSPCA grief - I had a meeting with the CEO, nothing was resolved, everything was covered up, he was not transparent about anything which only made them look even more dodgy! A vet friend of mine was adopting 2 of the puppies, he also created a huge scene about it and also had a meeting with the CEO to blast them. Nothing was resolved there either. It was a long, sad saga and i have video footage of happy healthy Cavalier babies and their mum, playing with my children and behaving perfectly normal, only to be euthanased in a very underhanded, suspicious manner. It was my first and last dealings with the RSPCA and fostering. -

Well i wish they had asked my opinion of the RSPCA, i could have given them a horror story of my first and last time i dealt with the pack of bastards whilst fostering a cavvie mum and her babies, all of which ended up in body bags for "temperament" issues. The Cavalier mum being a puppy farm bitch, was understandably nervous and the 4 week old puppies that were euthansed for temperament issues .... well for starters who the hell temperament tests 4 week old puppies??!! It still breaks my heart. -
Thats a good idea, thanks. I will do that.

For most of these DD puppy farms - this is not what they are trying to achieve as im sure you are aware. Its all about financial gain, which is why they charge over $2000 for a cross breed mongrel. Dont kid yourself, its all about the money.
-
People pay it unfortunately. It's supply and demand - plenty of idiots will dish out the money for these oodles, so breeding them continues.
-
And your point would be Dragonwoman?! ... Breeding working dogs is somewhat different to puppy farming DD breeds. It is not against the law to breed dogs in Australia!!!!!
-
Really? Thats madness. You would think that any Registered Breeder would be banned from breeding DDs whether they were using their registered dogs or not. I figured as much. Thats a shame. The fact that she is putting photos up on her FB page of where they whelp etc (and it is less than favourable i can tell you!) suggests she is an idiot too!
-
Can anyone tell me what the deal is with reporting someone to the states controlling body in the following situation - A Registered Breeder, breeding registered pedigree litters under their prefix, all fine and good. But they are also breeding designer dogs (happily advertising it on their FB page!) but under their husbands name, who lives on the same property obviously. They are also breeding many pure bred breeds that they don't register. The thing is, the wife's name is on the prefix, the husband's is not and she tells me its "him" breeding the DDs, not her. My guess is, because his name isn't on her prefix and "he" is the one breeding the DDs, then the states controlling body cant do anything? They are very new to the breeding world (in terms of registering a prefix) but their website has all the hallmarks of a puppy farm.

Im a bit late into 2012, but here is my new baby, taken at 12 weeks. She has a couple of Open shows and one Champ show, then she is in the Royal. Its been 2 years since ive stepped in the show ring, so im just a bit excited! I bred this girl. Its a bad photo, she was a bit cold and hunched up, I will have to get more in the sun on the weekend. ETA another photo. :D

It's funny my mum said the same thing! She is actually smaller than my cats and only weighs about 4 kg! She just looks big in these photos for some reason?! Lovely girls all round! A Whippet baby is bigger than I remember LOL My Mother-in-laws must have been a smaller bitch or your kids are tiny compared to mine!
-
My two Whoppet babies are 9 weeks old today! Lyric has flown from QLD (where my bitch is currently staying and where they were born) all the way here to Perth to me! She will start her show career a few days past 12 weeks .... I hope! The boy is staying in QLD with the person who leased my bitch. Now I wonder if I can upload photos from my iPhone? ... Here she is getting some love from my 2 daughters! (One with a gob full of sausage!! )
-
Awesome! Better get my butt into gear then but I'm still waiting to get puppy rego papers back .... Will have to ring DW today. So ST, I've done the royal a couple of times pregnant - running around the ring like a big fatty! You doing the same?! Lol!
