  2. A is for Anticipation B is for Bum C is for Chase D is for Dye E is for Eddie
  3. :D Kirislin!! Wash your mouth out! Its not the camera that takes the good photo :D It is so the camera. Don't you have people that tell you 'Wow! Your camera takes really good photos! What kind of camera is it?'
  4. I am Stage 2. I know what I want to do, but don't have the technical skills or enough imagination to pull it off
  5. They're a cope of the original, I'd be interested to hear how they compare. At that price, if they work as well I'll go back and buy a few if they have them then. Yep, me too. I thought for $10 I'll risk it
  6. Thanks. I grabbed one of the furminator thingies
  7. Ohhhh. Ok. I always use 'combine'. Sorry, should've picked that up earlier
  8. Ooh well done, hope it's sorted. I really like Photoscape, I like how easy it is ETA I've used it for businessy stuff and to make invites...
  9. How great it that!? So easy! Thanks Huga Uh oh Hang on! The max it will save is 162KB. Is there something im doing wrong or is that it?? You're doing it wrong No, I don't know if you are, but I haven't had that trouble before. Is one of the little slider thingies set to save it as a small file?
  10. I just use Photoscape. Easy peasey.
  11. Ooooh - clever peeps. Love the moon Kirislin - I can never get good clear shots of the moon like that. Blab - just beeeeeewdiful. I think I just ovulated I love the (lack of) traffic one JS, very dark and moody. Pretty red leaves IW
  12. I took some photos at a christening today. It was hard - the church was really dark and I'm still not really familiar with my new camera. I'm really not happy with these, the ones in the church are noisy and blurry and the ones outside are overexposed It was still fun taking photos of something different though - and it was my first time in a church ;)
  13. Just wait until I see her next....
  14. How the hell did you bribe Alex to do that? It's freakin' fantastic! ;) And now his Snuggie secret is out I was just saying lastnight how Red seems to have become more comfortable in front of the camera. Didn't take long
  15. Argh, just took a pile of photos at a christening. The church was too dark and my photos outside are all over exposed ;) It takes a bit of time to get used to a new camera I suppose.
  16. Fantastic idea, looks very cool.
  17. Thank you You have no idea what your support means to me. BTW - we still have to visit the Ron exhibition and apparently cameras are allowed in! And I think we should make a date for an Ekka excursion too Gotta love a bargain. The camera with the twin lens kit was $500 - couldn't go past it. Sorry about the collar delay ;) We are still unpacking after moving a couple of weeks ago - chaos! Thank you! I already thought the colour was amazing when I saw it next to my other photos I shall try what you suggested . I'm impressed with how it went at bathtime ;)
  18. Aww, you guys are too kind. I'm just about to put the kids in the bath and I want to test how the camera goes in low light :D
  19. Pug hair is the same. I do chuck their bedding in the dryer, as there is no other fantastic way to get it off. On other things (like my clothes) I use the zoom groom or a rubber glove.
  20. Is the nifty fifty the 50mm 1.8? Because that's what I was thinking of getting. I was constantly using the 28-80 on the Pentax, so wanted to get the 24-70, but it is too far out of our price range at the moment. I'd have to sell a child to get that one Thank you so much tlc :D
  21. Just had a super quick play With the 70-300mm: And with the 18-55mm: And now to start saving for a new lens...
  22. No, it wasn't a total suprise - he consulted me first It's actually been a pain trying to get one. Mr Huga is a buyer for an electrical retailer (home theatre unfortunately, not cameras), so looked into getting a D90 for me. Even staff price was still more expensive than DWI etc. So he found one D80 left at a store, they'd had it for over 12 months so were willing to go under cost price to get rid of it. We asked that it be put aside until we could get up there to pick it up. A staff member bought it the next day So he managed to find another one at another store, but it was waiting on a replacement battery from Nikon. It finally came through and he picked it up for me lastnight :D Tlc - thank you so much, I would love those. I'll PM you.
  23. Oh god - crying my eyes out here. That was gorgeous
  24. Mr Huga brought home a present for me lastnight - a spanky new D80. Not the newest or the best model, but it was such a bargain and we are on a pretty tight budget at the moment. So now I have my very own DSLR! Now I have to figure out how to use it. So many more options than the little old Pentax. If it wasn't for DOL, I wouldn't have this love for photography - I love the sharing that goes on in this little community. I just wanted to say thank you - to two people especially. To Ash for the challenges, they started to get me interested in improving my skills with my little P & S. And also for loaning me one of her cameras for the past 6 months or so, I really appreciate it And to Rocco, who was the first person to tell me that I needed a DSLR (even though I didn't know I needed one!) and is so lovely and encouraging to me :D You're both awesome
