  1. He was. I quite like his grown up personality more though
  2. Awww, lovely Raineth! One of my faves of Harry: An old fave of Lola: And Sid with his favourite kid, over a few years:
  3. Love Frenchies, don't love Bostons  To me they're really different, but I get asked if Sid is a Boston all the time. On the other hand, I get approached by staffy people all the time, wanting to give Sid a cuddle and telling me they love Frenchies, but I wouldn't own a staff.
  4. Yes, the smell. Bizarre, but so clever - we don't usually associate smells with art. No, no death chamber for us! Didn't notice it, so not sure it's still there? Ed would have freaked out anyway. No watching ourselves wee either
  5. Ha. Well, like any good parent I did absolutely no research, so got a bit of a shock! I was expecting it to be like our GOMA, but it wasn't at all. It was fine though, what I found a bit creepy and confronting, the kids weren't bothered by at all! And the wall of plaster vaginas went literally over their heads. Not that I mind them seeing a bit of anatomy, but I was glad about the lack of questions  They thought the poo machine was simultaneously hilarious and gross.
  6. Thanks :) Cradle Mountain was pretty amazing and there was even a wee bit of snow falling - the first time we'd all seen it (except my OH). Goosey kept trying to steal food and mama roo got stroppy  It was a total fluke shot.
  7. We've just got back from a week in Tasmania :) Travelled around heaps and managed to shoot Fran's wedding while I was there :D These were all taken on the 35mm.
  8. Must admit the same thought about lighting crossed my mind.
  9. Also, every single one of those images is shot at f2.5. It's sharpity sharp sharp.
  10. Oh man, that's the only down side. I got a shock at the sheer size and weight of it! L-R: 24mm, 35mm (sigma), 50mm, 85mm and 105mm. Spot the odd one out  Ok, this is what Sigma says: From what I can gather, it's the quality of the glass (which sounds wanky, but there you go). The bokeh is lovely. I was always going to buy the Nikon version, but it's so bloody expensive and this seems to be out performing the Nikon one. Reviews have put it close to Zeiss lenses, which is pretty amazing considering they go for around $2000. The Sigma is around $800 and the Nikon around $2000 too. http://www.dxomark.com/Reviews/Sigma-35mm-f1.4-DG-HSM-Nikon-Mount-review-the-definitive-high-speed-35mm-wide-angle-lens-for-DSLRs/Sigma-35mm-f1.4-DG-HSM-Nikon-versus-competition
  11. Now I want the 50mm  It's my first non Nikon lens and I'm a total convert. I think it might end up replacing my 50mm as my most used. It's so versatile! Oh I know. I wish they would slow down.
  12. I used it a bit at the shelter today too. Usually I use the 50mm in the cattery, but sometimes it's a touch long - so it was nice having the extra bit of space with the ability to shoot wiiiiiiide open. Everything had a basic edit. No sharpening (bar whatever Flickr does). Can't wait to use it for weddings and families :D
  13. Yep! I did ask for express shipping though and there were a couple of mix ups - so I think they made sure it got here asap
  14. I'm in love I only got it yesterday, so had a quick play in the afternoon.
  15. There were two Chi x Kelpies that came into the refuge recently. Odd looking little guys. They only weighed about 5kgs each.
  16. good choice! Mine is red too :D
  17. Same thing is happening with Frenchies - blue, lilac, black and tan.... People are paying huge amounts of money for these dogs.
  18. I haven't used it for a few months because we haven't been near the water. I charged it yesterday though and will give it to my son to use when we go to tasmania. I'll definitely use it when we're back in the water again.
  19. I know it's probably not ideal for your situation, but my Olympus Tough (TG2) has almost no shutter lag. I was really surprised! I only ever use it outside though and the focus can be hit and miss (because I tend to shoot at f2 - ha).
  20. I had to update my LR when I got my new camera - the older programs can't read the newer files. I ended up with Creative Cloud for that exact reason.
