I love LR now. It's pretty much all I use. I have downloaded some free presets, most of them are dodgy, but I have a couple that I use regularly.

Feet intact, but deep wounds in the side regions His longest lasting toys (I still have that one and it would have to be around 3 years old). And he was hard on his toys.

I bought a D300s from Ted's. Nikon had the trade-in offer going on, so that helped too (a further $200 off). I ended up paying $1900.

I just bought my new camera body from an actual shop. Times are tough in retail, so if you go in hard you will probably get a good deal on something. Mine ended up only being $200 more than the grey import price. I just didn't want to risk sending it halfway around the world if it did end up with problems.

Thanks CM I saw that shot of Jamie on Flickr and think it's just so lovely.

Thanks BB - They are gorgeous photos... I think I might stick with the 550D..... And a lot has to do with the lenses anyway right?? So I can just keep upgrading to better lenses as I go?? Correct Good luck.

Oh god, did that make you cry again. It's made me tear up. :D I got a bit teary, but I smiled too. I think it's nice.

Strangers Photographing Both You And Your Dog Whilst Out In Public

I guess I would just assume that you were going to keep it for memories sake along with your other beach pics. Or maybe your are a bit of a budding photographer and you might post it online for a bit of cc or something. My mind doesn't automatically think sinister, but then, I guess I'm not a suspicious person by nature. -

Personally, I'd be fine with that - as long as you didn't come off as a crazy kid stalker of anything. Because: (a) It's not unusual for people to take pics of my kids (because they are rooolly ridiculously good looking ). (b) They're not nude, so I don't get that weird vibe about where the photo will end up. ETA But keep in mind that I enjoy photography, so totally get where you are coming from. And there are lots of photos of my kids online. -

Photojournalism is my favourite style of photography. Will Gortoa has a very dark and gritty style of street photography. Interestingly, he has quite a few shots of kids. I wonder if he asks permission to post online? It would be such a shame to lose this kind of work. -
I've watched it heaps and still cry. Ollie loves it though. When the song came on in the car this morning, he said 'This is Harry's song, Mummy' :D

I do it all the time. You'll have to shoot me, Jaxx. ;) And me -
Outside in natural light, either first thing in the morning or last thing in the afternoon. Get down to their level, but don't expect them to sit still or 'pose'. Try and get them comfortable with you there so you get some natural shots instead of cheesy grins. If you're into it, you could bring something fun (like bubbles) - but don't bring them out straight away. The three month old won't be able to sit unassisted, so take a nice rug.

In fairness, that's from two - but only a two minute rake of both.

Looks pretty normal to me :p

I would get the kid and the dog checked out before you do anything.

Thanks. The puppy pics are dodgy, I need to get them scanned in properly one day :D

My first ever slideshow, so it's not very good :D But going through all the photos was a very cathartic experience...

A bit of a salute to Harry this week :D Story over on Flickr.

Thank you all so much for the amazing support. You guys are awesome. It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one who has shed tears over this. It really is. This was not the way I'd imagined he would go. All I keep remembering is that moment he when went, when that light went out and he was gone. Ollie isn't asking where he is so often now and Lola is going better than expected. She's wandering around a bit aimlessly, but she's ok. She seems to want to spend a bit of time out laying in the sun. I can't believe how quiet it is without him.

Oh no ;) That's no good. You and Dan must've ordered around the same time too.

Thanks ladies. I'm ok, much better today than yesterday. Can't wait to get my bag...

Harry was PTS
