Love the ferris wheel and the rain, Helen. I took a couple over the weekend: Angel at the markets on Friday night: And a few at The Wiggles concert yesterday: Anthony said hello to Ollie and he was stoked

Thanks We were at a funeral yesterday and afterwards, my rellies asked if I would take a group shot. Fine, but I only had the 50mm on and we were in a room where it just wasn't possible to get far enough back. So I thought something wider might come in handy, especially for weddings and just general shots of my kids indoors.

The wall matches Jamie's tongue! I love the simplicity, CM

I have the 30mm Huga - I think any wider and you may have too much distortion. I also have the Sigma 17-70, and below 35mm is a bit, well "wide" Whoops, ok - so how do you find the 30mm? Is it sharp enough for you? Nikon don't have a 30mm, but they do have the 28mm. I've been doing some reading on Flickr, and am now leaning towards the 35mm. I used a 14-24mm at a wedding recently and the 14mm end was sooooo wide.
-
There's a 28mm too. Hmmmmm...
-
She'll say the 24mm, I think. I just wanted to know if anyone thought that one was better than the other, I guess.
-
I need a wide angle lens for group shots etc. I know Annie has the 35mm - does anyone have the 24mm? What do you think would be a better choice?

I can't take photos straight, ever I use Lightroom for everything now, but I used to use Photoscape, which is a free program.

Tell Me Where You Buy Your Gear. Time For A New Toy :)

I bought my body from Ted's and lenses from DDP. I can't really help with the IS stuff, but start building your muscles, because that lens is heavy! Well, it was for me. I borrowed one during a wedding recently and by the end of the day my wrists were super sore I am too used to the teeny 50mm. -
Oh the anticipation...

Sharper, smoother and cope better with lower light and a higher ISO. Of course, lenses help, but I have noticed a big difference with the upgrade.

I know I'm biased, but there is no way I would be switching to Canon - I know a few peeps that are ready to jump ship and change to Nikon. There is no comparison between the D80 and the D300s, tlc. Ask Ash, she has edited my photos from the D80 and the D300s. And when you take into account the money that you will lose... ETA And I would kill for a D700, but there is no way that is going to happen in the near future  The D300s is still an awesome camera.

December Treasure Hunt! 2010 - Photo Challenge
huga replied to Ashanali's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Thanks. A friend of mine has just started her own business doing wedding styling. So all of the images are for her to use for her website and marketing. The wedding was a bit high profile - it was for Greg Inglis. Apparently the media were trying to get in all day. -

That's because yours is normal. I'll swap you Lola for Pancake for a weekend - might change your mind a bit, Huga. I agree with the others - it all depends on your friend. Yeah, but Cakes is 17 kinds of special -
