  1. even more tears here.... (mum came out of hospital for the wedding and has a big patch over her right eye) Nawwwwwww, that's lovely
  2. It looks like you caught tears - bonus points!
  3. Oh I'm dying to try it out on the dogs in action but its started to rain! Hopefully it will clear up this arvo. I tell you what, just from mucking around in the yard my wrist hurts! I had really achy wrists after using it at a wedding for a few hours It's a bloody heavy lens!
  4. Ok, well I'd say that the 50mm 1.4 is a more versatile choice because you can use it for pretty much anything. I've been using mine as my only lens since July (until I got my 24mm and 105mm last week).
  5. I have a 50mm 1.8 and the 105mm 2.8. Like Tess said, they are completely different. Both good for portraits, the 50mm is faster and I find the 105mm much slower. The 105mm is lovely and sharp though. The 50mm is lovely and light, while the 105mm is a fair bit heavier. The 105mm is too big to use indoors for general stuff, the 50mm is much more suitable for that. So I guess it really comes down to what you want to use it for.
  6. Oh wow - well done. Retail is really feeling the pinch at the moment, and they are really doing some deals to get sales. Have fun Bec!
  7. Ditto what the others said. Take the 18-55 and the 50mm.
  8. Gorgeous texture Helen! It really suits the photo
  9. It is a heavier lens, especially compared to the 24mm and 50mm! But not as heavy as the 70-200mm. There is a 60mm macro lens...
  10. Thanks guys I cannot wait for the next wedding!
  11. They are Nikkor I lurrrrrve them. I didn't know you had a 105mm too. Cool
  12. Thanks guys It's so nice having something different to play with. They are both ultra sharp and I love them both. The macro lens is particularly lovely
  13. Yay - have fun I don't even have kit lenses I've been using the nifty fifty for everything.
  14. Yesterday I bought a 24mm 2.8 and a 105mm 2.8 I got to try them out a little bit yesterday... The 24mm: The 105mm:
  15. I will. I just got to have a teeny play at New Farm park. These are with the 105mm: And I only got this one on the 24mm (please ignore, well, everthing about this one ): All were taken at f2.8 Can't wait to play more!
  16. I ended up going with the 24mm 2.8 and I also bought the 105mm 2.8 macro (although I'm not really into macro, so it will be use for portraits etc). Squuuuuueeeeeee! More than one lens to use!! :D
