I was yelling at the tv. Again. They all needed to take a step back and let it happen. So frustrating. But I shoot PJ a lot - even in session work. It's lovely and organic and my favourite thing.

Is There Any Things Said About Your Breed...
huga replied to Baileys mum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sid - is mostly referred to as a pug. Sometimes I get snide comments about how cruel tail docking is. Lola - mostly just get asked if her eyes pop out, because it happened to a friend of a friends pug. -
Very good :) I use Flickr (as do a lot of others). Enjoy your camera :D

Well, I am jealous now  I really want to upgrade to the 1.4. My 1.8 has served me well over the years, but it is getting a bit soft and hit and miss.

I usually say 'Mine are'. Because they are, I have two small boys and they've never been anything but awesome with them. What I hate, is when someone squawks 'Does it BITE??!!' Yep. He bites. That's why he is out in public, and I'm letting him sniff your kid who just bolted over.

I used my Lumix until it was dead too. They are fantastic little cameras. -
A Good Little Point And Click?

The x10 looks awesome, the x pro looks great as well but more $$ My very first digital was a fuji finepix, only 2 mp but gee it was a great little camera. I don't want to bother changing lenses etc :) That's what my big cameras are for. I want it because it shoots in RAW and has full manual controls. And, let's be honest, because it looks really cool  -

I want the Fuji x10 so very, very much http://camerapro.net.au/fujifilm-fine-australian-stock-stock-strictly-limited-time-p-3973.html -
And if you get a lemon, it is easy to replace.

Yes, that is correct :)

Lol. You will get on the ground, trust me

Thank you! Does the D7000 have the focus motor? The 35mm lens that comes in the kit is a 1.8G so maybe he meant 1.8G in the 50mm too, I will make sure it is if I buy it. What about the other lenses in that kit? Would they have a focus motor? I just asked him about auto-focus and he said all the lenses for these Nikons have auto focus. Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my question? The only thing about the D7000 is that the LCD screen doesn't tilt upwards which I thought would be handy. Yes, the D7000 does have it and is apparently awesome in low light. Have the focus motor in the body makes the focus much faster. But yes, you need the 'G' in the lenses. The kit lenses will work with that body, otherwise they wouldn't sell them with that camera ;) This is a handy comparison of the two models: http://snapsort.com/compare/Nikon-D5100-vs-Nikon_D7000 ETA What do you need the screen to tilt for? Video? Because I don't know anyone who uses liveview to take photos.

The D5100 does not have a focus motor built into the camera, none of the entry level models do. This means that it has to be in the lens. So, it means you need to purchase the 50mm 1.8G, not the 1.8D. Seriously, I cannot believe the amount of people that don't get told this in stores. http://lenshero.com/lenses/nikon-d5100-built-in-focus-motor-lens The D7000 is a far better camera if you can stretch it. I would buy the body only and then either the 50mm or something like the 70-200 as suggested. More outlay initially, but it will suit you for longer (providing you stick with it). I speak from experience, I have upgraded 3 times in 2 years.
-
Yeah it does. The entry level models don't.
-
Just remember that the D3200 doesn't have a built in focus motor, so it will have to be in the lens. So if you wanted the 50mm, you would have to buy the 1.8G ($254), not the 1.8D ($152).

Try the jpeg ones, you might be able to adjust them. I just found they didn't really work on RAW. I like it. Just watch the vignetting and the blacks :)
-
I don't think you could do it in LR. I do it in PS, texture over the top, adjust opacity and brush back off the subject.
-
Oooh, I just bought cheap textures from Pretty Presets :D http://www.lightroompresets.com/products-page/textures-and-resources/retro-revival-textures/ ETA Not that it has much to do with presets
-
As per above, download a few and adjust accordingly and save as your own. I will often create a preset for every shoot/wedding I do, it makes my life so much easier and my processing so much faster. Play with all the sliders, including the split toning. For warmth and dreamlike, obviously play with the tone sliders, but also decrease the contrast and add some fill light. If you shoot in RAW, try and find some specific to that, otherwise you'll find they don't look right. There is much more control in PS though, so you might find that challenging.

Mine (pug and frenchie) are free range - the pretty much come and go as they please, but are crated inside overnight. When I worked in an office they were outside while we were gone, but now I work from home so they are mostly inside. The pug would spend all of her time indoors if she could, the frenchie does like a bit of outside time (mainly for getting up to mischief, I'm sure).

Thanks CC, he is a beast  We do 5km everyday and 9km at least once a week. His breeder wants to take him to get his ET next year (his mother has hers). As for the sheepies, I love the space, but I think I prefer the colour (weird for me :D).

CC - your week 25 is super awesome :D I love it. Here is a little outtake, just because he is crazy...
