It's an old prefix :) Not sure when the rule came in, but there are still prefixes like that around. (In another life, screening prefix applications was part of my job).
-
Overseas prefixes are checked. Nothing with the whole breed name in it (so you can't have 'pug' but you could have say 'bull' (also very common though and unlikely to be accepted)). It can't sound the same as another prefix, even if spelled differently. It must be four (I think? It's been a while) letters different from an existing prefix. Don't put down names just for fillers - chances are that is the one that will get accepted
-
Also, anything with bell/belle in it is very common and unlikely to be accepted.

She's great thanks Huga! Gently snoring on the couch beside me. :) We got a kitten a month ago and after a week of alternate crate time they've been best friends since. Bit hairy for a while there though. The first time Maggie saw her she was frozen like a statue and shaking. It was hard to tell whether the look in her eye was intense curiosity or a weighing up of how much kitten she could fit in her mouth. I could have waved a roast chook under her nose and she wouldn't have noticed! Sid looks like he's in absolutely prime condition. Are you still running a few km's with him? LOL. Good girl, Maggie! The Frenchies do get that intense look about them, don't they? Sid gets like that about bush turkeys  You don't quite know what they're going to do. We aren't running much now, but that's me not him. I seem prone to shin splints even though I've tried everything to prevent them. I think it might actually be running with Sid that causes them. So we walk a lot, with hills. He is very much the athlete though, a bit weird for a frenchie.

Thanks all :) We will do it again and I might drag Lola along too. It's pretty. All gorgeous but this is my fav Sid is such a stunner My new favourite. The light was awesome. Funnily enough, that shot was just a half arsed grab while he was listening to a dog bark at him from behind the fence I didn't 'see' it. My favourites are never the planned ones. Ta :) He is the biggest blinker. I have so many shots of him like that
-
He has outrun her for a loooong time  As he was growing up, she was slowing down. She loves the quiet life now :) How is Miss Maggie?
-
Ok, so it was only over the fence. But still, I've always admired the light and have been meaning to do it for ages.
-
I would euth. Rehoming a 10 year old dog would be hard enough, but to then specify that it can never come into contact with children? Almost impossible, I'd say. And what if one day it happened?

I'd agree that you can't go wrong with either Canon or Nikon. I am a Nikon girl.

Sid (frenchie) has very little staining since we switched him to a raw diet (a couple of years ago).

Is This Normal Behaviour For A Dog ...

Lola was very much like that when we lost Harry. She stayed in bed and barely moved. -
Photographic Equipment As Carry On Baggage On Planes
huga replied to gapvic's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I always carry one of mine on and the other goes in my luggage. I just take my normal camera bag, plus handbag as carry on. Haven't had a problem a all! -
She's so sweet, Bec! :D My dogs are at work with me most days, because I mostly work from home :p This is usually my view:

Ooh, ok. That's easier, you don't have to worry about how things print up.
-
Derp. Meant to say print or image on screen?
-
Thanks, QPPA was last weekend. I did score 3 silvers from 6 prints, so was happy with that. Will yours be judged from a print of an image on screen?
-
I am still very much in competition mode after having mine in QPPA last weekend. Watching the judging was so much fun, as always (as well as nausea inducing and nail biting). I'm already thinking about APPA and what I will change and enter.
-
I like black dog, as he balances out the others :)
-
Oh and re your image, I just put one over the other and brushed back the three dogs on the left. I liked their movement better.
-
Seriously Kirislin, only you will know you've done it. If the last winner did it and you can tell, then he didn't do it right ;) I know what you mean though, whenever I do serious editing work, it stands out to me. This image just won Gold at QPPA (and APPA too I think) and is a composite. It ended up getting him disqualified as QLD Wedding Photographer of the year, but that's because he inadvertently broke the 24 month rule.
-
I wouldn't have a problem with using a composite at all! Happens in some of the biggest comps all the time. Anyway, my version: ETA I can't see the line in yours and mine is exactly the same :D
-
It needs to be a composite ;) ETA Actually itching to try it, but understand if you don't want to :)

You are a professional, get the 6D. I think you will regret it down the track otherwise.
-
Changes the colour slightly and makes them appear softer. IMO.

I have my blog, but sometimes use flickr as a dumping place.
