I think I might do 52 weeks on my point and shoot.

Contact the FB Club of QLD :) Sid's breeder is at the Gold Coast and she is excellent :) http://www.qldfrenchbulldogclub.com/

I should start again too.

You can't really tell until the vet sticks a needle in it. Lola had a lump on her leg earlier this year, she was there for something else, I mentioned it in passing. Vet looked, said it looked like a fatty lump, but would I like him to do a biopsy? I said yes, just to be sure. He was very shocked when he came back in and told me it was a MCT.

Because of his feet? He's developed a licking habit, unfortunately. Oh another norty thing Jake gets from his frenchy side then. I use quit itch which is basically betadine foot baths daily. Helps the fungus plus tastes gross so breaks the habit. Oh good, my brain wasn't so fuzzy. What about lots of ocean splashing, you'd think salt water would help too. He doesn't actually have anything wrong with them though, he just likes to lick them (like nail biting for us, I guess).

It's common in Frenchies, his look worse because he's white too. I've tried a few things, I think it's more about breaking the habit though.

Finally did my two. 'Ooooh, I see the pug is having her photo taken, let me jam my giant head in the picture'. The official one: And after:

No Santa photos here yet, but the dogs at the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge have been Christmassed.
-
I love rotts, they are my 'one day' breed. I know a few people who have rotts and pugs, but a Frenchie might also suit? Not that you can get black and tan ones (well, you shouldn't be able to).

It is a great pool, we love it :) Had a play in full shade this afternoon.
-
I don't mind when people are genuinely interested, it's the stupid comments I can do without. This morning I was trotting along with Sid and had an old couple try and catch up to me  They called out in the end. Turns out they babysit their sons Frenchie a lot and were dying to talk to Sid. It was very cute.

LOL. I'm not wearing a swimming cap. I stuck my head under today and the images were worse  I need goggles.
-
Because I have freshly dyed red hair and I don't want to fade it - lol! Usually I would, I am very much the water baby.
-
I don't know if anyone else noticed, but in the second one, you can see Sid's feet, but also his chin because he was bobbing for a toy in the water.

I've never heard of the flags! Cool idea! Neither of them love the pool, but I do take them in every now and then, just to remind them where the steps are (we have a 'beach' entrance, plus the step part, but Lola can't get out from there on her own). Sid has fallen in before and panicked and tried to climb out from the side, but he didn't make it, fell back in and went under So we have to be really careful.

Yeah, Seth's images went viral, didn't they? Just as much as Carli Davidson's shaking dogs :) The first one is my fave too.

I've been thinking about buying an underwater camera for ages, since we moved to the coast. Initially I considered underwater housing for my cameras, but the good ones are actually worth more than my camera And I'm not entirely sure I could ever put one of them underwater, the thought freaks me out. So that left the point and shoots, which I wasn't too thrilled about. I ended up getting the Olympus TG2. The quality is obviously not that of a DSLR, but it's not bad at all. Plus, it has some manual control and an f/2 lens. This was my first go in the pool today. It's a bit hit and miss, because you can't choose the focal point (eeep) and also, I didn't want to put my head underwater, so I missed a bit that way
-
I never used to, but since I started shooting for a local shelter, I do tend to flick through now. There are a couple of long termers at the shelter that have managed to worm their way into my heart.
-
this lady must be very confused lol, a puggle is a well established mix.....between a pug and a BEAGLE . and they do tend to end up having a pug personality without being messed up and are unusually homogenous for a mix. OTH I have a friend with a pug x JRT... that dog is just as screwy as a pug lol This is a puggle ;)

Last shoot :) We gave Sid a rest today.

New Camera! And Terrible Photos From A Total N00b
huga replied to Alkhe's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Good on you Alkhe, stick with it and you will get there. You've done it before :) -
Awesome! We could start a whole series 'Dogs With Stuff On Their Heads' I still need to get around to shooting the rest, it's been a chaotic week.

I'd agree with Piper. Unless you are pushing your camera to its limits, I don't think you'll notice a big difference. However, if you are still using cheap kit lenses, just a lens upgrade will improve things. I have had four cameras (Nikon range D80, D90, D300s and D700), the only time I noticed a real difference, was jumping from DX to FX. But the purchase of a 50mm 1.8 changed my life :)
