Three half hour walks is way too much for a pup. I'd be inclined to do two 10 minute strolls on soft ground. Mental exercise is good for tiring puppies out, again, keep it brief (5 minute training)

What healthy (not so) little bundles of love they are!! Mr. Green is too handsome.

I'd build/buy a secure run and have it set up near the house. Sometimes, too much space to wander and they can get up to mischief. Plus, I wouldn't feel safe with those yards backing onto yours (kids, etc).

It doesn't look like a Koala to me, very pointy nose.

Have you ever been bitten SC? I always watch your videos and cringe a little when you put them in the bag.

I'm glad you stayed clear of those people and the dogs. The basset hound sounds good, is she from a rescue group? Can they help with transport?

Poor dogs. So glad you didn't get one of them, how much were they asking for their breeding dogs? It's so sad that some other backyard breeder will probably buy them, and then the cycle continues. Just a puppy/money machine.

Please steer clear of the "breeding" mature dogs, they wouldn't have been bought up the way a happy, healthy dog should have been, purely used for the purpose of breeding (and making money for the owners who now want "to get rid" of them) Same goes for the litter of pups nearby, they aren't registered breeders by the sounds of it, so health andtemperament won't have been checked, nor I imagine vaccinations or womings. Please let your wife know that YOU want to choose your next dog. It doesn't mean getting you a puppy for your birthday, and I'd be making it VERY clear to her so she doesn't buy a puppy as a 'surprise'. Plenty of older/rescue dogs just waiting to be adopted. I'm sorry you lost your other dog.

On the 7 news update just now, it's claiming 3 pitbulls broke through the fence and killed the neighbors staffy, but showed a couple of pics of what looked very much like a young Amstafff (apparently the one that was killed). Very confusing when the media posts this kind of stuff. Edited to fix mistake

You can get Aloe from the chemist as well, Arnica cream is good too. Maybe a cold compress would help, it's probably itchy/sore and some dogs will tell the whole world about it

You could try Aloe Vera if you have the plant, very soothing. Rescue Remedy is available from most chemists. ETA. Your vets receptionist is a twit, saying there is nothing you can do. Are there any other vets around?

As others have suggested, get a (recommended) behaviorist out to assess the dogs behavior. It is often something easily fixable and easy for us owners to implement. I got one out for my dog and the behavior I thought was dominant was actually fear based. In the meantime, put Sammy outside, in another room or crate him when you have visitors. My dog also chewed paws when stressed.

Stemming from a few childhood incidents, I'm rather cautious around Red Cattle dogs, and some GSD's.

What the hell? Surely they can't do that? : Is it just Geelong council, or are the government going to amend the new law they've just passed about pitbulls/pitbull crosses being restricted breeds? It's bloody insanity!

Do we get the tickets by email or post? I bought 2 (from FB link) last week & emailed the receipt to Ruthless as requested, but never heard back. So glad Petey is on the mend :D
