  1. She's gorgeous Rugerfly, congrats.
  2. Right, I might give it a try then, thanks. Denali, that's encouraging! I'm waiting for it to arrive so I can hopefully train them both to use it a bit before we move.
  3. Good advice so far, and good on you for seeking treatment for her. :D In that last photo with her front on, she looks more Amstaff to me, though I'm not the best judge. Does anyone else think so?
  4. I know, I was the only bidder. :D (I love a good bargain!)
  5. Well I sourced a doggy loo off Ebay, it's "The Pet Loo" and bought for their dog but never used, I got it for $20 plus postage, and to buy that one new is $190, so I'm well pleased. I just need to grab some more artificial grass, and I'm set. :D Juice, do you think the diluted chlorine will take the color out of the fake grass?
  6. A really tough decision for you, but I think it was for the best too. And congrats on your new puppy, love the WSS.
  7. All this talk of blue cheese and I think I need to try some, I'm sure I probably tried it many years ago, but I can't remember. Love the photo of Andy laying upside down with Grandma!
  8. Thanks for all the helpful info guys, this is why I love Dol. I have both LG, the old fella can't cock his leg these days, he just hovers and pees, very wobbly on his legs too (falls a bit, and can't go up steps or jump up anymore, he's showing his age I guess)
  9. I typed out a reply but my Internet keeps cutting out and it didn't go through. Thanks Mrs RB, the tray seems to be a good idea, but would the (wet) paper start to smell, I'm thinking of the summer heat that SA gets. SG, what kind of soil did you use? And how often did you need to change it? I could probably fit a small clamshell in, but what about when it rains, does it get all soggy and smelly? It wiould be only half undercover, and sorry for all the questions. Has anybody used those outdoor doggy toilets, I have seen a few advertised, the ones where there is a grid over a tray, covered by fake grass, the wee goes through and drains into a removable little drawer that you can flush down the toilet. Like this one: https://www.worldforpets.com.au/products/46222
  10. Need some ideas Dolers. I'm moving next month to a unit, which only has a small paved courtyard at the back. I have 2 dogs, a Staffy and a smaller mixed breed (mutt ) and they've always had a grassed yard to do their business in. They are both older dogs, 10 and 16, and while they will get a twice daily short walk and will no doubt pee while out, I need ideas for the back paved courtyard. I don't want them peeing on the pavers, what is out there that I can buy/make and won't stink up the place? I've had a quick look at portable pet toilets, but they are many and varied in price and I don't want to buy one and find its useless. And preferably something that's not huge, as the yard is tiny as it is and I will have a cat enclosure there as well.
  11. This is wonderful news WM, the AB's seem to be the trick (and the blue cheese ) Onya Mac.
  12. Oh no, I'm so sorry Ellz, Roger was such a gorgeous boy, run free at the bridge now
  13. Maybe try feeding him earlier, like 3.30 - 4 o clock. Reason being, I used to feed later, and my girl was drinking quite a lot, and then needing to pee at 3am, ugh. So I started feeding twice a day ((same rations, just split into two) so now I feed first thing in the morning, and again at 3.30 - 4.It's much easier this way for us, I let them out about 10 for the last pee before bed and that's where the water bowl is. Also, could he be cold, does he have a nice warm coat? I get a cold nose shoved in my face if one of mine happens to wake up during the night and manages to get on top of the blanket instead of under it, and they both sleep on my bed. Bloody sooks.
  14. Oh wow, they are amazing! Do you have a website? I want to get a painting of my two dogs one day.
  15. Aww, he's certainly got good taste buds!
  16. Such a lovely update Blackdog, when do we get to see pics of the little legend? :D
  17. Worrying behaviour from a youngster, I'd contact the breeder for advice first and foremost.
  18. What a beautiful tribute Anne, Boofy lived a good long life, run free at the bridge now Hugs for you
  19. I reckon the blue cheese has given him a bit of a boost. :D
  20. Molly was very lucky, I think that's just a bad angle the photo was taken on, and yes, her owner was a long time member on Dol, but I don't think she's here anymore. It's not something you'd expect a dog to get into either. Typical Staffy though
  21. He's a smart boy, if you have to eat, go for the good stuff. Good old blue cheese. :D
