I have tried using Laser Lites 'No More Stains', and have followed the directions for mixing it up. I end up with something the consistency of wet sand though . The 'crystals' dont dissolve at all. Am I doing something wrong?

Did you get the glue off and your money back SBT123? No it was our fault, we didn't read the fine print and the charges of $4660 was correct. The vet said that it will take a while for the glue to come off and the hair to grow back, but not to worry as it won't impact on their ability to reproduce. We are thinking about having a litter, so we can get our money back Excellent idea SBT123. Poodie will enjoy the opportunity to see nature at work, and can take in a little commerce lesson at the same time. I suggest you mate them as soon as possible, as it is cruel to stop the boy ferretdoodle when he is h*rny. For your future litters, can I suggest staples? Much easier to remove than carpet glue, cheaper, and the blood staining wont be seen as it will be on the carpet side of the ferretdoodle

http://www.dogsqueensland.org.au/2007-Royal-Qld-Show.aspx ETA note that General Specials should presumably be SATURDAY 14 AUGUST 2010 rather than the listed SATURDAY 15 AUGUST 2009. Havanese is spelled incorrectly - again :D

That's an "it's just up the road" sort of show :p Same here. Anything 2hrs or under we call a local show. If it's a double or triple we'll travel to Adelaide or ACT but at this stage that's about it. Too scared to do Sydney cause I'm a bit of a stress head in traffic You can go the back way - basically country roads and only a couple of turns before you get to EP. It is an easy drive, and quieter than the Hume :D

... and shares with me Baby Corgies are so darn cute!

Genetic Diversity After Several Generations

Hi Angelsun, thanks for your post . Could you explain the bolded bit above please? What are the numbers of genes and how does this affect outcomes for close breedings? -

I don't recall anyone being "anti-assistance dogs" per se. I'm certainly anti people calling their untrained pet an "assistance dog" to allow them to take it places other pet dogs can't go. That's because you don't have access to off-topic Edited because Mr Winky came out wrong -

Genetic Diversity After Several Generations

Thanks gundoglover. :D It seems (from posts) that a high COI is not necessarily a bad thing, so does anyone know why some canine councils are moving towards banning close matings? -

Good luck to them Sandgrubber, there are plenty of documented cases of assistance animals being of great help to autistic children. I dont understand why so many people on DOL are against the use of assistance dogs. Lets hope this thread doesnt turn into an assistance dog bashing thread like so many others have. -

Thoughts On Campaigning Show Dogs...
BittyMooPeeb replied to Missymoo's topic in General Dog Discussion
See this type of statement makes me wonder why I want to be a judge. So what you are saying is that, when I am a judge, if I judge one of these top winning dogs and find it is an excellent example of the breed then I shouldn't put it up because I will be seen as following the fad? Isn't that just the same? Putting a dog down because I may be seen to be face judging? Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Do I really want to do all this study and hard work just to be thought of as corrupt? I think it is pretty obvious which judges do their own thing as opposed to those who only ever pick the big winners or the known handlers. This doesn't mean that those who do their own thing wont pick big winners - of course they will - but in amongst the mix will also be the great dog with the 'nobody' handler, the great dog of an unpopular breed, etc. I doubt you would be labelled as corrupt if you do your own thing Ceilidh - a good, fair judge is easy to spot, and we need more of them, so please dont be put off doing your judges licence!!! ETA: I should have said "And I agree that SOME judges put up whoever they know has been doing the most winning." I didnt mean to imply that all judges did this, however, like some other posters, I have seen this happen, so it does occur. -
Thoughts On Campaigning Show Dogs...

It feels like judges are too scared to put up a dog based on their own judgement. And I agree that judges put up whoever they know has been doing the most winning. It's a bit boring seeing the same dogs win BIG and BIS week in, week out. I always think that surely there must be other dogs who are just as good and just as close to their breed standard as the few that take out most of the wins. When I see in advertisements claims like "35 BIS out of 50 shows" I think there must be something wrong with our judging system .... -
In my breeds the older the faster (especially dallies) so the older dogs behind would have trouble moving if they were following the younger (slower) dogs. OK, oldest to youngest then . Anything but alphabetical No!!!! I always get my entries there just before closing. Very Good Point. I now vote for reverse order of receiving entries. Hey, at least you are important enough to have yours accepted after the closing data Sadly, I know you are probably serious. I am going to change my surname to Aaaaaaaa. Beat that! Actually, just plain "A" would probably be first in the lineup.

Arggh. After the stories of DOLers trying to reclaim stolen dogs and the lack of support they received from the police, I am agog at the Police service's change of heart when it is a pet shop, rather than a grieving owner, involved

Cop Accused Of Cruelty After Taking Two Shots To Kill Kangaroo
BittyMooPeeb replied to Steve's topic in In The News
I can say from experience that a ranger does not always do the job in one shot either. How can Dr Wirth think it is better that the Roo suffer pain and fear on a busy street until the 'proper procedure' was followed ETA: Started to read the comments and couldn't get past the first one: .. I am 14 years old and a vegetarian, so obviously I do not have steak on my dinner plate. I do understand how meat works, and I believe it a very cruel practice. Animals aren’t tasty. .. Oh my gawd -

The Best Thing I Heard At The Royal Was...
BittyMooPeeb replied to Elfin's topic in General Dog Discussion
They must be smarter down south. We always get "where's the other 99?" as I walk ONE dalmatian past. The Pugs are usually Shar Pei's or Bulldogs. I have has one person tell me my Pug was a Cocker Spaniel as she bred them so she knew. My favorite was the fathers that told his kids with all authority that the Dalmatian is the dumbest dog on earth and he would never own one. It was very late at a Royal so replied that they were not Dalmatians but Mexican Spotted Dogs. He left telling the kids that when they got home they were to look up the Mexican Spotted Dogs and find a breeder so they could buy one. OK, I have to admit that I heard that one a lot when I was younger, and still have trouble shaking that image. In fact one of my breed books says that in the quest to breed for spots, Dallies have lost their intelligence .
