With White Shepherds, if it aint black by 8 weeks, it's never going to turn black.

Hmm, this breeder sounds a bit dodgy to me, their excuse for not registering is pathetic & sounds suspicious. If they don't want it to be bred from, they can limited register it. Hmmm, I wonder what their excuse for not limited registering the pup would be?
-
why wont the pup be registered
-
They do, and don't worry, you are not alone; I have had a dog desexed in the past and they removed his testicles from the scrotum & the excess skin. The next boy I had desexed I was mortified! As the stitches were in FRONT of the scrotum, up the shaft sort of, and his scrotum was all hangy & swollen. Depending on your boys age, It should all shrink into place

I've been out the back of my vet clinic, several times, both during business & after hours. The place is excellent! The costs, affordable! Had numerous dogs desexed here, the pre & post op care has been outstanding. You get what you pay for eh? For the prices some vets quote, I'd expect them to roll out the red carpet.
-
I can't believe some of the prices quoted in here :D My vet charges for DOGS: $150 females (up to 30kg) + $20 for pain relief $118 males (up to 30kg)

Oh Nicole, I am just so, so sorry about everything you've been through. I'm so blessed to have met Asher in the flesh, he was such a little turd that day but oh what a character! His loss will be felt by so many people :D Kristie and I had a cry on the phone with eachother last night, just such a devastating and unexpected loss. I'm still shocked about everything that's happened, and can't believe it's real.. Ash is gone Run Free Asher, your pain is now eased.. you made the right choice Bella.

Hmm, wow this 'stiff' puppy thing is really bizarre. Are any of you horse people, because it sort of sounds like when a horse 'ties up'.. I've seen a horse that went stiff as a board and fell over, it seriously looked like it was dead!! These are some of the theories on what can cause a horse to tie up. Altered carbohydrate metabolism in the horse Recent work has identified abnormal carbohydrate metabolism as a cause in many breeds of tying up. Hypotension / Nervousness Electrolyte imbalances Horses which tie up during or following exercise frequently have electrolyte imbalances. These imbalances cannot be diagnosed with simple blood testing. Mineral deficiency (Ca, Mg, P, K and Se) Lactate build up Too little oxygen getting to the muscles Vitamin E \ Selenium deficiencies Hypothyroidism Hormone imbalances Dehydration Ca : P Ratio imbalanced Imbalanced mineral ratios in diet Over exertion in training Dramatic changes in training Genetic Inheritance

-
Oh that poor boy.. thank goodness he made it back to you so he was loved at the end What was wrong with the gorgeous man?
-
No worries . Ice is as strong as an ox, C5 was September last year, healthy and on no medications. He'd lay quietly too while blood was being taken, so fingers crossed that they can go down that path.
-
Yes, one of my pups had that and looked like exactly the same type of hair loss.
-
Yes, the butcher will know what it is.
-
I will happily volunteer one of my Sheppies to be the donor if that helps at all.

I'm using advantage. Only works for 2 weeks here The rain we had has caused a bloody flea plague I think! Aaaaggghhh... What does everyone use to spray the yard and stuff? I used to use Duogard, might try it again, from memory is was ok.

Hope is currently on one morning injection of 21units for a week. Then we are going to do another blood curve. Baifra, what do you feed your dog? We need to find an affordable dry food as the Hills Prescription is just way too expensive
