Scrolling Sign Instead Of The Microphone?
Paptacular! replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
If there was a change to be made, or an urgent announcement (eg, lost child, lost property), I don't think the scrolling sign would be as efficient in conveying the message. How often, if at all, would people look at it to see if the message changes? -
Would love Pap results if anyone has them.

Not sure if I say thank you, but for the older dogs if they're sitting on a lap or are being obstructive in me trying to stand up, I say "Excuse me, off you hop" and they readily comply.

The book you would be referring to is The Complete Illustrated Standard For the Papillon And Phalene By Deirdre Ashdown and Mike Foster... An excellent book, pretty expensive but well worth the price.. Yes thankyou! That's the one.

My favourite papillon book that I own is The Complete Papillon, by Carolyn and David Roe (of Sunshoo Papillons in the UK). There is another very detailed large book from England (that I can't remember the name of right now) that I spent a lot of time looking over while I was at Portia's breeder's house.

I've probably already said this a bunch of times to you, but again, best wishes on a speedy recovery. Be a good little patient and do what the docs, nurses and Emma tell you. :p

I get a bit nervous around GSD's. As a RAAF brat kid, every RAAF christmas party for kids had a working dog display with the 'nasty vicious' GSD attacking the arm pad of the handler. I know they aren't all trained attack/apprehension dogs but they still freak me out a little bit.

The only thing I really know is that all QLD councils have different allowances for how many dogs you can own. A QLD local can hopefully fill you in on the rest soon.

The lady said the dog was her 'guide dog'? Well fat lot of good he is at guiding her if he's tied to a bench!! -
Why Enter A Young Dog In State Bred, aussie Bred Or Open
Paptacular! replied to scolly's topic in General Dog Discussion
All shows in the NT have a state bred class. -
I usually do this. Though at the last show when my boy did win, I received the ribbon from the judge and proceeded to step on my boy's foot. Whoops, sorry!

Why Enter A Young Dog In State Bred, aussie Bred Or Open
Paptacular! replied to scolly's topic in General Dog Discussion
Some people do this when they have a few dogs around the same age, to separate them in classes and give them an extra chance of getting an 'in group' prize for their class. Some people do it because of a belief that dogs further along the line get looked at more seriously. Others do it because if their dog is quite young and looks big for it's age, it might fool a judge perhaps. But again, judges often ask for the age anyway, so they wouldn't be fooling anyone. ;) This is something I'll have to do shortly with my sibling puppies coming out of baby puppy. My smaller one I will put in Minor and my slightly larger one I will put in Puppy class because I think she can hold her own in that class better than my boy could. -
The Things You Learn From Cbyerspace!

Great looking dogs! Like a bit like wirey Weims! -
From my first litter, the pups (both male) I sold on main register with no restrictions. One owner is keen to begin showing (this will be her first show dog), however the primary purpose for the puppy was companion, agility and obedience. This person I've built a good relationship with for longer than the first contact of wanting a puppy ;). I wouldn't be keen to buy a dog with conditions, so it would therefore be hypocritical of me to sell dogs with conditions.

I had my bitch done at 4 weeks and they were spot on with numbers. Bearing in mind this was a small breed too.
