I've only shown in the NT and I don't recall having to leave the ring for a shortlist. I think the only time I've seen exhibitors be given the option to not all be in the ring at once was in torrential rain, and were called in as needed.

Tonight my girl Portia (Koolena La Dresden Doll) earned her final points towards her Australian Championship title! Feels like it's been a long time coming for us, and tonight she did it in style. She needed a mere 5 points, but she went above and beyond expectations, winning two 10 point BOB's and getting a look in for Group at one show. Special thanks to all who have given advice from DOL, in person ringside and of course to the judges for recognising her quality and potential. :D :D :D

Anyone got news on the Papillons?

Has anyone else had an issue with results from other days, the PDF file isn't complete? There are half the breeds missing from today's page.

As far as I know he's been used successfully at stud before, it may have just been a wrong combination resulting in a recessive gene coming out? Half brother and sister mating so could have been a double up of something hidden? I've been doing more thinking and next time I think I will outcross.

From what I have read, it can come down the dog and bitch line, so I would give very serious thought to breeding from the sister or dam again. Have you spoken with the breeder of your bitch and the breeder/owner of the stud dog to see if they know of relatives who were the same? My bitches breeder owns the stud also. I feel it's almost too late to discuss, that I've left it too long to 'wait and see' if they drop. I'd have to say I won't be breeding from the litter sister to these boys, and I really don't think I will breed my bitch again. Start again.

I have met only a few. :D :p They can be quite drivey and most I have met are on the yappy side, however there are of course differences. Blaze hardly ever speaks a word, Tyson is fairly quiet, however Minka and Coco let you know if you haven't paid enough attention to them! Not in their nature to be aggressive. Having two 7 month old puppies that sometimes sounds like they're trying to kill each other is something you get used to when you know it's just play!

From a litter containing 3 boys who are now over 7 months old, all have an undescended testicle. Perhaps more than a coincidence. Anyone with ideas on why, causes etc? I'm pretty disappointed. If it were just 1/3 I could live with that, but for all 3 to have the same issue...

Hi there! For showing your Staffordshire Bull Terrier, he/she will need to be on the main register and a good example of the breed. Discuss with your breeder whether they think your puppy has show potential. Here is a link for Dogs NT that will have lots of info on there for you: Dogs NT New Exhibitors Guide Shows are held at the Winnellie Showgrounds on the grassed area, same as where the dogs are at the Royal Show. If you travel interstate with you dog, you can enter interstate shows however you would need to get hold of interstate schedules, some of which you can find online.

You dont breed Papillons past 7yo? (Excuse my assumption that you breed Papillons, I am just deducing from your signature ) I am a new breeder, have currently just bred the one litter, the bitch being a 2.5 yr old maiden. I know some breeders may not have an issue with it, but it's something I would not feel comfortable doing.

I wouldn't do it, regardless of breed if it were a maiden bitch. Even at 7 I'd be hesitant if it wasn't her first.

I've seen prices from $500 (pet) to $2000 (show). Average is around $1000.

First one I'd be in normal clothes, second two I'd be at home. Drenched, unhappy little hairies wouldn't cope too well I don't think.

See I've had the opposite issue. Emailed enquiries to both Dogtainers and Jetpets, Dogtainers got back to me within 24 hours and Jetpets I had no response from.
