  1. There is an FCI prefix site I've seen before. Tralee, perhaps advise your buyers to search there if they're dubious.
  2. This is exactly me. Don't mind hanging out with other people's at their house but I wouldn't own one.
  3. I find it a bit disappointing that Rising Star results with less than 250 dogs entered will be halved. This means every show in the NT. Just because the numbers don't turn up, doesn't mean the quality isn't there and any less worthy of reward.
  4. The liver is such a different colour, however it's not within standard. They really are a fantastic breed choice because they're so adaptable. :D
  5. I don't really think that papillons have a 'colour craze', though in saying that a couple of my litter enquiries were for red and white. I personally don't have a preferred colour, however the one I'm not such a fan of is the light red/lemon colour.
  6. I think a bit of the appeal is their looks of course, their attitude and adaptability..... capable of being a lapdog if that's what someone wants or can be extremely athletic and good in dog sports.
  7. So glad papillons are getting a mention consistently. Toys: Papillon Japanese Chin Pomeranian Terriers: (probably my least favourite group so struggling, sorry) Manchester Terrier Welsh Terrier Fox Terrier Gundogs: Viszla Gordon Setter Flatcoat Retriever Hounds: Basenji Basset Hound Saluki Working: Swedish Vallhund Sheltie Australian Shepherd Utility: Shiba Inu Siberian Husky Bernese Mountain Dog Non Sporting: Schipperke Japanese Spitz French Bulldog
  8. Do you happen to have a link to the website?
  9. Does anyone know of a good dog behaviourist in Darwin? Thanks
  10. Does anyone know of a good behaviourist in Darwin? Thanks
  11. It's about 20ish mins away so might be suitable for them. Pappy - are you really moving down here? You are welcome to set up with me at shows if you are! I'm hoping to for next year. I've been offered a place in one of my course preferences but holding out for a higher offer, should know sometime in January if I get it. ETA - And of course I'll take up your offer of hangsies at the shows! :D
  12. There are so many prefixes with similarities. Do all the prefixes that begin with 'Staff' or 'Blu' appeal new prefixes with that beginning? Sorry to hear that of all people, it was your mother.
  13. Yes, this, as well as 'do you dress them up?"
  14. My rising star did very well tonight. 9 point BOB over all older (some titled) dogs, Runner Up Best in Group and Puppy in Show, her very first in show award (and mine too with any dog). Makes it very special to earn all this with a dog I bred.
  15. Sorry - but I don't agree with your assumption that people with views that the Gr CH should be tougher are people with Gr CH - I don't own a GR CH or even an Ch yet (soon I hope) but believe that the current rules are better than the old ones. A Gr CH needs to have shown that it has beaten something. The requirement of four 25 point challenges makes sure that this has happened. Also - a Belgian Shepherd was BIS at an all breeds show here in SA last year - so it does happen. This breed regularly wins at Group level because it is a fantastic example of the breed. It will get its grand easily (it might have it already actually - I am unsure - it has enough group wins to qualify though). Good examples of rare breeds do win at group level here in SA on a regular basis. In terms of keeping people at shows - Dogzonline point score is doing that nicely . One Belgian Shepherd in one State. Name me the last Leonberger or Pharoah Hound. The Dogzonline point score is keeping the Grand Champions showing. Look at who leads each State and breed. Point score won't keep me showing but a change back in the GC conditions probably will. There is an import Pharoah Hound in the NT who has won several BIS.
  16. I'm a little wary of GSD's. Think I was exposed to too many RAAF dog handler demonstrations (where they attack the padding) when I was a kid.
  17. If he's not already been registered into your name, you'll have to fill out the details on the back of the pedigree (breeder should have signed also to allow transfer) and send to CCCQ.
  18. Is Banbury doing papillons by chance? If so, looking forward to results from that.
  19. My rising star Coco the Papillon won her first points today, aged 8 months. Was a 10 point Best of Breed, beating all older competition including her mummy! I'm a very proud breeder tonight. :D
  20. What about a litter tray? Crate I bought recently didn't appear to come with one.
  21. I do see the point in shortlisting though..... If I'm not run for group I feel like a bit of a mug standing there, keeping my dog stacked waiting for others to take home the goods.
