+ 1 and those breeding blue to blue should be shot why??? Because from what I'm aware, that type of mating highly increases the chance of skin problems occurring.

This is not something I have to worry about just yet (as I own no studs thus far) but I'd have to say I agree with Sandra777. I don't believe a title is a barrier (my recently whelped bitch isn't titled but is most of the way there). If the bitch owner was looking to improve on something in their line that my stud dog had as a strength, and they complimented each other in most other ways, I would stud my boy to them.

I'm sure I know who you mean Megz, I hope they do stick around. They're lovely people who I think could do a lot for the hobby.

My box is 90cm x 90cm, so quite big for a toy breed. Unfortunately it was the smallest box I could find up here for sale!

Have now penned her in a smaller area in the lounge room. She previously had run of my whole bedroom, so the area is now substantially smaller. Will throw smallest pup on her back teats if I can.

I have one that is now only 3g above his birth weight. He was the biggest at birth out of 4, and he's now the second smallest. Do you often supplement ones that are lagging? Mum appears to have enough milk and is feeding regularly (about every 2 or 3 hours now). She's taking breaks from the box and goes back every now and again and when they cry.

My guys are a week old tomorrow. Most of what I have read states that pups should double their birth weight by the end of the first week, but these guys won't. Do you find that more often than not your pups DO double or they don't?

Two cute non-human dog names I've seen are Tinsel and Jellybean, the Dachshunds.

Big weight gains today.... 2 gained 11g and 2 gained 13g. Little girl is definitely the most wiggly and the most noisy. She doesn't like being weighed at all and was difficult to actually try and pinpoint it with all the moving and shuffling numbers on the scale!

Minka and Portia have human names. Blaze is sort of a human name I suppose. He was named before we got him. My best friend calls Portia 'Portia di Puppi' as in Portia di Rossi.

Yep, I've been trying to put the other pups on top of this one to get some smell to rub off but it's not doing the trick. When she does growl I do tell Portia off and use my mean voice and hold her if she tries to run off when girl puppy comes for a feed. I'm really hoping she gets over this soon and just gives in. I'm not letting her get her way. ETA - Pup is gaining and is probably one of the more energetic ones. 2 gained 14g, she gained 4g and one gained 3g today. She is the biggest pup at the moment.

Since putting the milk on the girl pup, the girl pup wandered over again to get a feed. Portia did growl at her again. She was feeding all the others so didn't get up to run away. The thing is, she is still licking her rear end to toilet her, but nothing else. If she was to reject the pup completely, would she have stopped toileting her?

I would say people deliberately breeding for blues would be unethical (especially if they are selling them at highly inflated prices or breeding blue to blue). For those people who have a litter with an accidental blue popped up from something recessive, I wouldn't have an issue.

I just tried giving her a squeeze and I couldn't get any from her. She must have milk though, the pups did gain weight on their weigh today. Finally got a good teat with milk in there. Tried to get as much as I could out and smeared it on her head and down her back. She was feeding her (forced by me) while I was doing this. I really hope this works, as I think I've just about exhausted the other suggestions offered. ;)

Most clubs in the NT have an option for electronic banking deposit. The clubs puts the banking details in the schedule and you print off the transfer receipt and send it with your entries. Super easy!

Thank you for the suggestions. She doesn't have a bandage luckily, and I can barely find a free teat (or one she will let me get to anyway) to express. Have just given Rescue Remedy. Was thinking of perhaps giving each pup a wash? That way they would smell the same?
