  1. I suppose they're old enough now to not have soaked... nice sharp little chompers! Hope the dry is nice and baby papillon bite sized! I'll trial them on some dry tomorrow, thanks guys.
  2. Hello My litter is 5 weeks old today. For the past week they've been fed on turkey mince and puppy milk, as well as having the occasional top up from Mum (she's getting very over it!) When is it best to introduce soaked dry food, and after that, when to introduce straight dry? Is the Advance Puppy that comes in those puppy packs fine to soak?
  3. Have papillons now, but would also love one day: Aussie Shepherd Swedish Vallhund Shiba Inu
  4. Mine took 2 weeks to arrive, haven't yet fed my pups any yet though. For the small breed anyway, it comes with 1.5kg bag of dry, a tin of wet, a reusable canvas bag and a couple of pamphlets. Can't complain for a freebie
  5. Portia recognised her breeder after 2 years away, but not her Mum or sister.
  6. With my buyers I'm not going to dictate to them what they should be feeding, because I know it will likely change anyway. What I will provide them with is a list of what they have eaten and are used to eating, and information on gradual changing of the diet. I've also ordered the Advance puppy packs which they will start eating from the ones I'm keeping before they go to homes so they have a supply of what they're used to.
  7. Yes, a set of uniform rules in regards to names would be great.
  8. Fingers crossed she's ok. If you suspected a toad, did you wash her mouth from the side? Because if you hose water directly into the mouth it goes down the throat along with any poison that might still be in the mouth.
  9. I used a 90x90 for my papillon bitch and it was plenty big enough. A slightly bigger dog could have easily coped with the space, so I imagine it would be fine for a cocker.
  10. I'm bookmarking that one for future reference
  11. Hi all Looking for a quick link that might tell me what words I can and can't use in a registered name. Trying to fill in my litter reg form and can't find the info I'm looking for. I recall some of these words might be not allowed to be used, but I want to clarify: words like 'and', 'the', 'from', 'of'. Thanks!
  12. There are plenty of those around. And i often just call them Blobradors. Slabradors over here.
  13. Add 'purebread' to that list too! The scourge of Petlink!
  14. Pretty much I suppose. Most showies/breeders say 'yon' rather than 'ahn' as the last syllable. Phalene is another story... I've heard so many pronunciations for that, I'm not quite sure which is right!! But I do say it as 'fay-leen'.
  15. Best of Breed papillon: Gr Ch Starblaze Hugo Boss.
  16. Papillion is a popular BYB spelling. And some people do pronounce it with the 'L' sound rather than the proper 'pap-ee-yon'.
  17. This link, of a breeder in Canada confirms the whole aussie to aussie breeding to get a smaller dog. http://members.shaw.ca/hitide/ Theirs may be smaller due to breeding smaller dogs together but the picture of the other one further back looks nothing like those ones or normal ones. Don't understand the need to get something then try and shrink it . Just buy a smaller normal one?????Don't mess with what isn't broken How did the different sizes in Poodles and Schnauzers come around? Not trying to provoke, genuine question.
  18. My show trolley - aluminum and very old (been re-revited and still going strong) fits in the back of my HOnda Jazz (standing up). I know it fits in the Honda City because when I was buying my car, I took my show trolley with me to put it in the back of the cars I was looking at. (Wont fit in the back of the Ford Fiesta, Suzuki Swift). Will lie flat in the City - my trolley is average, single berth size - it isn't a large one. Fitting in both the JAzz and the City made my decision on which car to buy difficult - I spent ages tossing up between the two. I love the looks of the City - decided in the end to go with the luggage versatility of the Jazz. I've only just seen this reply, thank you so much for that. Eases my mind.
  19. Big congrats to Erin and the Monkey
