I don't know if we can count mine since they were a few days out, but they're all doing really well! 8 weeks old on Friday and one is going to their new home next week.

Thanks for answering ophnbark. I thought it may have been like merle to merle matings in that it could have bad effect on the health of the pups.
-
Guess so, also presume non-black X non-black mating At the moment it's more important for us to consider the needs of the pups that will eventually get released from the pound, rather than lose energy on the originator. CC Yes, very true. Edit - I notice you mentioned non black x non black mating, does that kind of mating produce any kind of genetic issues, or just the high incidence of non black pups in a litter?
-
Completely unnecessary.

Yay for Jedi!!!

How sad! Those gold ones available now, is it possible they're all from the same litter, similar ages? Sounds like a BYB who couldn't sell them or couldn't be bothered to.

Just saw the same thing. It's a terrible thing to happen, but I feel this could possibly provide an argument against BSL. I mean honestly, who in their right mind would advocate for the banning of owning and breeding goldies? This is an extremely sound example of banning the deed and not the breed, since most goldies are known for their solid friendly temperaments. As horrifying as the case may be, maybe it can serve that purpose for stopping BSL.

Which Breed Makes The Cutest Puppies?
Paptacular! replied to Henrietta's topic in General Dog Discussion
Proof that papillon puppies are indeed the cutest! Proof - Paptacular Papillons -
As a new breeder I've answered every enquiry I've received. Even one that came via SMS! Not my preferred mode of contact but they did say they would follow up with a call if I gave them an appropriate time.

Which Breed Makes The Cutest Puppies?

When I get home from work, I'm pulling out all the stops with my papillon puppy photos!! -
Ah that explains it, my puppy's flight is a Virgin flight. He will also be having a vacc and vet check a week before flying so will have a copy handy if they do ask for it for some reason.
-
I've arranged transport today also with Dogtainers and no mention of any required health check.

Bailey's Mum, you definitely dodged a bullet with that family, OMG!!

I'm in the same position as itsmeg. My now neutered dog didn't quite make his Ch title before he was neutered (99!!). He was out of the ring for around 18 months before neuter titles were bought in. He got a bit worked up when he saw me preparing Portia for a show and he didn't get to come, so he was ecstatic when he was allowed to come again. This boy just loves the ring. He's very reserved as a rule, but when he gets in the ring he becomes a completely different dog. I do keep him in as good a condition as when he was being shown previously. And not at all concerned if he came up against titled competition in the neuter class.

Sorry to hear the bad news Tris. I got all excited then read the following posts. Fingers crossed for next time.

I got my second choice, theory disproved. I only needed to put 5 preferences down, this was for Dogs NT.

For Those Who Work And Raise Puppies
Paptacular! replied to Wyntervale's topic in Breeders Community
I was able to take the puppies first week off work, and luckily for their 2nd week, my dad had the week off work recovering from surgery so there was someone to keep an eye on them. For the third week I would pop home on my lunch break (work is 5 mins from home) and after that they've been fine on their own. I was lucky as I had a very easy litter by standards, but if there were problems with feeding etc, I definitely couldn't have gotten away with this set up. -
I definitely don't think it would be out of line for you to ask for a deposit. If they're setting up for puppy, they seem fairly committed so I don't think they would mind.
-
I would never take a deposit that I didn't intend to give back if circumstances changed. Non-refundable just doesn't sit right with me. My current litter I took a 25% deposit at 6 weeks.
-
Does anyone happen to know which baby Pap??
-
Non refundable deposit before a pup is even born? Errrr I would run a mile! Search far and wide. I really wouldn't limit yourself to your own state. If I did that, I wouldn't have my papillon bitch. In fact, my litter is the first registered pap litter born in the NT for at least 5 years!

That's correct. I flew Darwin to Melb and back. Dogs allowed in Melb terminal but not Darwin, so she had to be sent as 'freight' both ways, so it did not come under excess baggage, it was extra cost. This was Qantas one way and Virgin Blue the other way.

More fool him for outing himself. Thanks for sharing, that's one name to look out for. Has Troy been contacted separately so this slimeball can be on the 'beware' list?
