Victoria's Secret! And they usually have some good promotion codes, where you get so much off if you spend a certain amount, which usually covers the cost of postage.

I have had my last puppy advertised here on the DOL pages, on Petlink and in the newspaper for the past two weeks, but unfortunately no serious, committed enquiries. In last week's newspaper ad I put $POA, got one call from a lady who seemed quite nice, I told her the price and emailed some photos and never heard back. I'm honestly thinking the price is putting people off. Now to me, I don't believe it to be excessive for a puppy of my breed (I paid the same for my girl nearly 3 years ago) but considering the newspaper here is full of pig cross specials and maltshits for anywhere between $100-$400, mine is probably the most expensive in the paper. He's only 10 weeks old, so still in the cute puppy stage. At what point would most breeders consider dropping the price so that the puppy still goes to a nice home before they reach an age where adjusting to a new home may be difficult?

Portia gets to come home at 12.30 with lots of medicine.

When I spoke to the vet on the phone she said that it can happen for the same reason it happens in humans: stress. She did have a litter but they are 10 weeks old now, so I would have thought the stressful part would have been over for her.

I liked - 60 to go.

Portia vomitted up blood this morning while I was working, so Mum took her to the vet to get her checked out. Some bloods were taken and there is one protein that is a little low. The vet is suspecting a stomach ulcer. She's staying overnight after having some anti-nausea meds and something to stop her stomach producing acid for a little bit to calm it. Has anyone's dog had a stomach ulcer and how have they coped with it?

I've realised I've been completely slack the past few weeks, so photos are on my agenda sometime this weekend.

Melbournites! May I please have some information about who, when and where show training classes are held in the Melbourne area? Thanks!!

I don't see any new exhibitors showing yet, they seem to be existing exhibitors most with older titled dogs. (ETA those with non titles dogs are already existing exhibitors) From Saturday's Ovens valley show. Toy - 1 x Cav - 16 yrs, not titled. 1 x Tibetan Spaniel Gr Ch titled, 11yrs. Terrier - NIL Gundogs - 1 x Novia Scotia - Ch titled, 8yrs. Hound - NIL Working - 1 x Sheltie - 2yrs, not titled. Utility - 2 x Dobermann - Both Ch titled, 6/7yrs. 1 x Rotti Ch titled, 7 yrs. Non Sporting - 1 x Std Poodle - Ch titled, 3yrs. Does anyone have any dogs that they bred out there being shown in Neuter by new exhibitors? Not new, but showing my boy who didn't gain his title before he was desexed. Like GRD has said, it baffles me how shows in the NT (who would have some of the lowest entries in Australis) can afford to hold neuter classes at every show without fail, and the bigger shows with many hundreds of entries can't/won't. Articles in dog magazines marketted to the dog loving general public (eg Dog's Life) might help to promote this class and garner entries. This is something the ANKC should be working on, rather than only focussing on show/breeding scene mags, where we all (well, mostly all) know it exists.

I believe you used to be able to fly dogs in and out at any time, but I think in the past year or so they have restricted their opening hours. I remember seeing a thread a while ago about closing times and meaning most dogs are flying in the heat of the day, particularly in summer and in warmer climates.

Yep, he's a Portia bub. :p

Quite early on (about a week after the first mating) Portia was not eating and vomitting. A few people were of the opinion that this was too early to be morning sickness, she was taken to the vet and had some anti-nausea meds. Her breeder and I thought it may have been plane fumes from transporting her back home, she did have a little wait in the cargo area.

I used Animal House White n Bright and I'm happy with the results.

Update - Little Scooter travelled from Darwin to Melbourne at 9 weeks and dealt with the trip just fine. We used Dogtainers. -
SparkyTansy, I can see a bit of a change in the belly. She has a quite high tuck up and it's getting gradually lower.

I've found that if you have to put the pill in the dog's mouth, as far back as you can, hold the muzzle shut and a little blow on the nose.

What about if they are onselling a dog they haven't bred themselves?

Can an MDBA breeder charge puppy buyers extra for papers? Is there a rule pertaining to that in their CoE?

They keep the same number.
