  1. I have bought off ebay, and from Greyhound Products Direct in the past. That place that you've said seems to be the best priced!!!
  2. Count Archie & I in, Saturday mornings aren't great for us, so afternoon is preferable! I wonder if someone could fit a clam shell in their car to bring with them and we could fill it up with water for the dogs to take a dip in?
  3. I would be interested if the time/date etc was suitable
  4. We have been using Outback Vet itch relief gel on Mum's Lab, and the comfort spray in the range. We bought it from horseland. It has been working a treat!!
  5. Trying to find somewhere to take my 4 month old Golden Retriever for Obedience training. We live out in the Hawkesbury area. Does anyone have any recommendations?
  6. As Mum's dog gets older we have increased the frequency that he gets his pentosan (cartrophen) injections He is on Joint Guard, and Fish Oil capsules as well. For his really bad days, Mum gives him a non steroidal.
  7. Thanks for that link Raff. Gonna grab some next time im out Human products don't absorb as well, the molecule size is too large and isn't effective. It can also upset their stomaches. Sasha's Blend doesn't contain Glucosamine as such, it has Abalone Shell in it instead, which has traces of Glucosamine in it, but inadequate amounts :D
  8. Highly recommend Mark Bilson, he is a lovely guy. He looked after my old cat when he had eye problems!!
  9. Without a doubt Fox Valley Animal Hospital!!!!!!! I absolutely adore the staff there, they are the most amazing people!! The vets are so passionate and they treat every animal as if they are there own. My Aunty has taken her dogs there for years and raves about how terrific they are, I have been in with her and I just wish I lived closer to take my animals there!!!
  10. Chondroitin is very important, its role is to stop further breakdown of cartilage. So using it in conjunction with Glucosamine & MSM is recommended, otherwise Glucosamine is helping to build cartilage, but there is nothing there to stop it from breaking down....
  11. Throwing another one in; What about Technflex Technyflex is ONLY green lipped mussel, it has what they claim to be glucosamine & chondroitin but it would only be trace amounts and not enough to help the joints, and it would be in the raw form.
  12. Sasha's Blend is only really an anti inflammatory, it doesn't have Glucosamine & Chondroitin like Joint Guard does. Joint Guard stops further deterioration and break down and helps to build up the joint. It also has MSM which is an anti inflammatory. There is a lot more research done in Joint Guard too We're big Joint Guard lovers here.
  13. We have been using Joint Guard on Mum's Labrador with hip & elbow dysplasia. He has been having Pentosan injections monthly as well which has helped. He has done really well on joint guard.
  14. I have started my Golden Retriever puppy on the Joint Guard liver treats as a preventative (paranoid mother!!) I called the company, and they said there is no harm using it as a preventative, just start it at the maintenance dose, it's great for dogs that are known for getting problems.... Archie loves his treats
  15. We use Joint Guard here!! We've had great results. The research that I did when we had to put Mum's Lab onto something, I found that the human products aren't absorbed as well, the molecule size is too large. My vets recommended Joint Guard because it has more Chondroitin in it, which stops further deterioration and break down. Glyde doesnt have enough Chondroitin in it. The MSM has anti inflammatory properties like your omega 3's, without the smell! We buy the big 750g tub of Joint Guard, it lasts ages, it's cost effective!!! 750g - $116.50 from GPD!!! It lasts Mum's Lab about 10 months!!
  16. I bought a snuggle safe heat disc for my cat & it was also used when Archie was a puppy, it was fine, it is hard plastic, and I hid it under his blankets
  17. I had a Boston Terrier who had a partial cruciate tear, we treated her with a 4 week course of Pentosan & daily Joint Guard. She was fully weight bearing 6 weeks post tear and never required surgery.
  18. We use Joint Guard here. Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM It's designed for dogs, so I know it's being absorbed correctly, and that they're getting the right dose. And it doesn't smell. Mum's Labrador gets the powder, and my dog gets the liver treats. Mum buys the 750g size joint guard powder and it works out to be quite cost effective. As for horses, I also use Joint Guard in my old horse too!! :D
  19. My experiences in the past have been with either Andrew Marchevsky at SASH in North Ryde or Tony Black at Veterinary Specialist Centre in North Ryde. I have found both of them to be terrific!
  20. We use joint guard liver treats for ease of dosing Gone in a flash, they're very palatable.
  21. I have been using Outback Vet Itch Relief Gel on Mum's Labby that gets bitten in awkward places. It's all natural and has really helped.
  22. Yep Joint Guard is better than Sasha's Blend. We did some research and found that JG is more purified and works better than SB. Not to mention it doesn't smell!!! Mum's Labrador is really fussy (I know... a Labrador that's fussy!) and he doesn't notice his Joint Guard. Mum looked over this when it first came out and found that joint guard has more active ingredients, more glucosamine, more chondroitin, & MSM and it didn't smell. Joint guard is cheaper and is a bigger pack size. We also get pentosan injections monthly as well, and have got great results
  23. We're a Joint Guard household through and through here!! It's designed for dogs, it's got Glucosamine & Chondroitin as well as MSM, the vet told me Glucosamine on it's own isn't ideal, as the Chondroitin helps to stop further deterioration. It doesn't smell, it's palatable, and for one of the dogs he LOVES the liver treats!! It's got the right amounts of Glucosamine & Chondroitin for dogs and it's absorbed properly because it's meant for dogs digestive system. Best thing we ever did!!!
