Was weird to me too, hence me putting the question out there. The papers i sent back in to be transferred into my name, were the mains (blue) but the papers that came back were the limited/orange papers and when i called to inquire why i received limited instead of mains, the lady over the phone said it is due to me not being a member of Dogs Victoria n they automatically get downgraded. After i calmed my farm, i asked the lady will i get the mains if i become a member to which she said i will, so now ive signed up to be a member n awaiting whats next which is hopefully the mains in the mail. Both myself and the breeder are new to all this, so i guess we’re gonna be scratching our heads a lot along this journey lol. Thanks for your response Rebanne, i appreciate it.

I did not know i needed to be a member in order to get the mains but now that i know, im currently in the process of doing so.

Dogs Victoria basically overrode the breeder by downgrading the mains to limited after breeder registered pup on mains n ownership was transferred, all due to “apparently “ me not being a member with them. I dont understand how they can do that/downgrade.

Yes paid for mains when picked up pup n we were very clear with the breeder about what we wanted to do with the pup a week prior.. The issue is, after we paid n transferred ownership of pup (on mains register) the papers Dogs Victoria sent back in my name were the limited papers n not the mains. When i called dogs vic asking where my mains are, they claimed they were downgraded to the limited because i was not a member with them?

I recently bought a purebred pup with the Main Register, but I haven't received the papers yet due to several issues. Initially, I had to fill out the transfer to new owner application on the back of the Main Register because Dogs Victoria sent the papers to the original owner/breeder in his name by mistake. Once this was completed and sent off, Dogs Victoria returned the Limited Register papers instead of the Main Register papers. When I called Dogs Victoria to inquire, they informed me that, as I am not a member, the papers are automatically downgraded to the Limited Register. Has this happened to anyone else? How can they downgrade the papers when the breeder already registered the pup on the Main Register?
