  1. sydney water website and the lady i spoke to at sydney water said level 3 restrictions are in place in sydney and Illawarra
  2. from the sydney water website The Level 3 restrictions are: Hand-held hosing of lawns and gardens and drip irrigation is now allowed only on Wednesdays and Sundays before 10 am and after 4 pm No other watering systems or sprinklers are to be used at any time A permit from Sydney Water is required to fill new or renovated pools bigger than 10,000 litres No hosing of hard surfaces including vehicles at any time No hoses or taps to be left running unattended, except when filling pools or containers Fire hoses must only be used for fire fighting purposes – not for cleaning. Level 3 mandatory water restrictions now apply across Sydney, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains A hydrobath is classed as a container
  3. Just rang Sydney Water and with level 3 water restrictions they have told me that it is fine to use a hydrobath as you are filling a container(i.e hydrobath) and as the water is not continually running it can be done anytime :thumbsup:can now take my dark sunnies off as i'm legal
  4. Hi LMWS Yep,got it about a week ago.Now have nice clean dogs again, just don't tell anyone i used it :D in case i'm not meant to be using it with the water restrictions!!!!!
  5. thanks for the links Shartan, unfortunately i'm in NSW(Wollongong)and i'm just washing my own dogs, not a commercial operator. Have sent an email through to Wollongong Council in regard to my question so hopefully they'll be able to help me out thanks julie
  6. Hi, having only recently moved to Wollongong i can't seem to find anything on the net in regard to water restrictions and using a hydrobath for personal(dogs, not me )l use only, not a business.Have looked at wollongong council site and sydney water site but can't seem to find anything in regard to hydrobath use.I own a auto fill model so obviuosly you need to hook up a hose to use it,not bucket fill Anyone know??? thanks julie
  7. my lot get Nutro with either chicken carcass or some other bone(brisket etc) with sardines a few times a week. It's a bit harder to get than some others but if you can find a supplier in your area i'm sure you'll be very happy with it julie
  8. I think the alpha white shampoo is the better of the two(if my memory is correct it's the one with the purple colour) shampoo)where as the midnight white is blue colour shampoo. I'll have to double check that as shampoos are packed away in the garage due to us just moving and i can't get to them I'm sure if you email Michelle at clipper world she'll tell you julie
  9. I feed Nutro and still give some kind of bone, either chicken carcass, brisket bone etc.I guess for a bit of variety and the teeth cleaning with the bones. I also like to add a few sardines a couple of times a week for extra oils as gsd are prone to skin complaints
  10. i 2nd petway products, have a very good range although it's only available to groomers Clipper World also sell a really nice range of shampoos
  11. Ok - that's a start to narrowing it down to something more conclusive. Was that behaviour in relation to YOU and ONE of the dogs leaving, or just one of the dog's leaving? You can narrow things down even further if you can arrange for someone other than you or your OH leaving. IE Someone outside of the family takes the dog out. Chances are it isn't separation anxiety. But it's not completely ruled out. Nor is 'anxiety' of some sort ruled out yet. Out of the 3 dogs, who is top dog? How long before the whining etc. began after you and/or the other dog/s leave? How long before the whining ceases? All these sorts of questions go towards more firmly determining cause. thanks for your imput Erny, will arrange for someone else to take one of the gsd's out without me although at this stage it will have to be one of my kids as we have just moved here and i don't know anyone else here and see what his behaviour is like. I know before we moved here we lived on a battleaxe block and had gates across the driveway and the foxie would usually sit at the gates waiting for me to return, sometimes most of the day although did not carry on like he is when i take one of the dogs out, just used to sit there! One of the gsd is top dog although i think somtimes he likes to think he is,i only think this in the fact that wherever they have squatted to do a wee he will go over and urinate in that spot, sometime even doing it on them while they are still going! is that him is trying to be top dog?????He gets feed last and is not allowed in side or on any furniture. thanks again for everyones ideas, hopefully we can fix the problem before anyone complaines julie
  12. It is possible (hence my last question to the OP) but not necessarily probable. He haesn't always had these 2 gsd's for company. When i got him i had another gsd who died of old age than i had a period of time with just him before i got my 2 girls. He doesn't have a problem with them coming in and him being left outside which is a very common occurrence as he is a leg cocker so not allowd inside.Took one of my gsd for a walk today while hubby was home and while he didn't bark and howl, just did some whining hubby said he runs from one side of the yard to the other constantly Will get a supply of large bones and crate him to see if that works julie
  13. When one of my gsd was quite underweight and i had her to the vets being desexed the vet mentioned that basically you need more fat in her diet so i started going to the butchers and he would mince up some fat and i started adding that to her food, not too much but it soon started working. She was on a very good quality food and was a bit picky but consumed the minced fat up no worries.Apart from that i guess any bones that have a fair bit of fat on them may help like brisket bones good luck julie
  14. i will try the crate with him, and a bone just have to get one as only have larger ones for the shepherds. I'm never actually had either of the other dogs go anywhere without me as they're my dogs so if they go for walks or in the car i'm the one doing it so if they're gone,i'm gone as well.Might have to get someone else in the family to take the 2 shepherds out and see what happens thanks again julie
  15. K9: Its very easy, but it takes about 2 months lol.. OK,best make that call soon than cheers julie
  16. K9: Diagnosing the cause of the aggression is going to be the most important steps to sorting it out, Rank & Defence aggression (Dominance & Fear) are treated totally different. K9: Thank you very much for the kind words, I am really pleased to hear your doing well! K9: Thank you very much, thats a real compliment! Thanks Looks like you're the man for the job K9Force shall give you a ring and organise something soon, how hard is it to get in at this stage? julie
  17. Hi Erny, he loves to go for a walk himself and is as good as gold,(no barking or howling) when he's walks and i reliase its just that he wants to come but thats not always possible, not enough hands for 3 dogs at once! but i need to stop the carry on thats he's doing or i'll be getting a call from council thanks for any advice julie
  18. I own 2 german shepherds and as fox terrier. The main problem is with the foxie who carries on barking and howling when i take one or both the shepherds out of the yard for a walk.I left one of the shepherds with him this morning thinking that if he had company he may not carry on but i was wrong. He barks and howls constantly the whole time i'm gone. This isn't a new problem,he's always done it but as we've moved closer to neighbours it is a problem now Anyone have any suggestions,i'm sure it will drive the neighbours mad as we have only recently moved here julie
  19. Hi, i own an almost 3 year old female german shepherd who i got as an older dog and is dog aggressive .My problem is when i took her to a group training class(she had already done some training but i was just wanting to freshen it up) and she started getting aggressive towards other dogs the instructor just got me to remove her from the situation(ie take her away and bring her back when she settled)or she did place a tarp between us and the next dog to avoid eye contact. I really would like to overcome this problem and i don't believe just taking her away from the situation is helping her as sometimes it just not achiavable like when you have to walk past another dog to get where you're going.i don't want to spend all my time going the long way round etc just to avoid coming into conatct with another dog. They also couldn't tell me if she had a fear aggression or dominance I have since moved to the Wollongong area and was just wondering if anyone could recommend anyone in this area or Sydney that might be able to help me out. There are quite a few off leash beaches and parkes around here and i would like to overcome this problem so i can take her to these places julie
  20. I too had a fussy gsd.She would turn her nose up at most things and i even had to hand feed her at one stage. I've since got her onto Nutro and she devours it all although i have since gotton another gsd and i think that helps as she dosen't want her to get anything good luck, maybe it's just a settleing in thing if you've only had her a short time.
  21. hey peachie, had mine on the market for nearly 2 weeks and looks 90% like it's sold, she just has to get her dad to check the trailer out as he's lending her the money, will know in the next few days.Only been operating around 9 months.I must be VERY lucky.Fingers crossed anyway. Heading to Wollongong the 28th April and will suss the area out before i see what i'll do there. Hope your's sells soon julie
  22. I emailed the makers of Advantix asking them if they could send me out brouchers on the advantix as i can purchase it from my wholesaler and was going to sell it to clients in my dog wash business. They emailed me back saying sorry,it's only sold through vets I'm like Hello,i just told you i can purchase it and just wanted the brouchers to hand out

  24. thanks peigirl, she appears itchy pretty well everywhere,it's just you can actually see the red welts more on her belly where there is less hair. The vets did suggest a few different brands(phenergan, periactin, telfast, zyrtec)but thought i'd give the polaramine a go first seeing as i have it in the house instead of having to go out and buy some to try. I do add sardines or flaxseed oil to there nutro but will give the EPO ago as well I have the 2mg tablets(pink)of polaramine here julie
  25. Hi, i just rang vets and got different antihistimane dosage rates for my german shepherd who has a airborne allergy and forgot to ask what the dosage rates would be for polaramine if i tried that. It's just that i usually keep it in the house for myself and it's not that expensive compared to a few of the others she mentioned(zyrtec, telfast). Has anyone had success with a particular brand. She said to try one brand for approx 10 days to see if it heped(which is why i thought at least i'd use the left overs of the polaramine if it didn't help her ) Also found on a website to use evening primrose oil with the antihistamine treatment, anyone tried that?. I have my girl on macralone tablets at the moment so have to wean her off them before i start on the anti histimanes.Have also tried different shampoos(malaseb, aloveen etc)as i own a mobile dog wash and she is on Nutro Lamb and Rice. She was previously on a BARF diet before i switched to the Nutro and theres no difference so it's not diet related. She has small red welts on belly etc and drives me crazy with her scratching and nibbling
