  5. thanks for the replies.Last night i ended up putting some curash powder on them as they were wet from her licking them. Its all 4 feet and i'm pretty sure there's no cuts or anything, just the inside section of the pads are red and looked slightly swollen .Today she seems a bit better with them and is walking a lot better on them.I did bath her in Malaseb today and they're not as red so I'm guessing it may have had something to do with what they have used at the kennels seeing it's on all feet. I'm hoping it will be a lot better tomorrow and we can avoid a trip to the vets thanks again
  6. Picked up the dogs from kennels this afternoon after 4 nights and all seemed fine.Did't notice till when i went to feed them that one of the shpeherds was limping.Thought maybe she's pulled something when she raced upstairs so put her in the crate inside. After a while noticed she was licking her feet so had alook and the inside part of the pads are really red and look a bit swollen. Not sure if its caused from her pacing or something on the concrete at kennels or maybe she was stressed at the kennels and started licking them or possible a change in diet while at the kennels. Is there anything i could try on them before taking her to the vet? thanks
  7. I use Healthy Paws Skin and coat capsules for my lot, specifically designed by a vet for dogs .Just one capsule a day
  8. I've switched from the Nutro to Orijen Adult. There's no large breed in the Adult formula but I'm very happy with the size and the quality of the food

  11. aparently vinegar works at getting the scent away, good luck CBL,no treats for Patch next time if he's still being naughty
  12. Just looking at a Trish King training dvd and wondered if anyone has any opinions on her dvd's etc
  13. I wanted to check out about the protein issue out as well and found this info on thepetcentre.com PROTEIN AND HYPERACTIVITY Most dog caretakers at one time or another have heard this pronouncement... "High protein diets can make dogs hyper!" I have searched the literature and contacted nutrition specialists regarding this myth and nowhere can I find any scientific study that proves this unfounded contention. There are no biochemical or nutritional factors that would even make this supposition appear to be credible. Hyperactivity in dogs has numerous potential motivators, including genetic temperament predispositions, but a link between high levels of protein in a dog's diet and hyperactivity has yet to be proven. I listened to a canine "expert" once tell me that Purina Hi Pro was causing hyperactivity in dogs and that he's seen it happen. I politely pointed out that Purina Hi Pro is in fact not high in protein at all... and yet the myth goes on. Feed your dog a high quality, meat-based diet and, just as Nature set things up, your dog will thrive. Fear not the feeding of Protein am interested in finding more info though especially a i sell a high protein food so good to know

  17. thankyou for the replies,i've orderd in a couple so will give them a go,sure will work out cheaper than advantix on the 2 gsd's.Advantix works out at about $55 for 6 weeks (applying every 2 weeks)and these will only be about $20 for 6 weeks(all online purchases)for the 2 dogs
  18. hi,I'm just contemplating purchasing some Kiltix collars for my dogs for tick prevention as applying advantix every 2 weeks to 2 large dogs and a small one is working out rather costly. Does anyone who has used them have any opinions on them?Do they work as well as Advantix, are they smelly and do many dogs have a reaction to them?
  19. you should be able to buy online here or type in your postcode and find a retailer near you http://www.vetsallnatural.com.au/
  20. They allow e-collars from Australian suppliers? If the listings are overseas you can buy them but they'll get confiscated by customs on the way in. Same with e-bark collars. here's a bark collar listedhttp://cgi.ebay.com.au/Dog-Bark-Control-Obedience-Training-Collar_W0QQitemZ250262146286QQihZ015QQcategoryZ20742QQssPage NameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem .I've seen other bark and e-collars on there as well.I actually won an e-collar a few months ago on ebay(for my parents as i already own one) but the seller(a new one)wouldn't go through with the sale because he didn't get the money he wanted for it.I reported him for it and was told that he did get a warning for doing that but the next day it was relisted and it was an e-collar and they didn't ban him from selling it.You would have thought that while investigating him for breeching the sale they would have noticed what the item was. Mind you the idiot had it for starting big $150 or buy it now for $200(the 2nd time around)and stated in the description he wouldn't let it go for anything under $200,not sure why he has a start bid of $150 than Like everything there 2 sets of rules
  21. They allow e-collars from Australian suppliers? If the listings are overseas you can buy them but they'll get confiscated by customs on the way in. Same with e-bark collars. According to a bloke I spoke to in customs if they're dismantled and shipped in pieces they'll go through fine as you're allowed to import parts for them. It was interesting talking to him actually, they're educated about restricted items, but the training on e-collars seems to date back to the 80's. He told me how cruel and horrible they are and no-one should electrocute their dog to train them so we had a 15-20 minute discussion about it I think he did learn something out of it too, seemed a lot less anti e-collar and a little more open minded I knew they wern't allowed to be brought into Aust but didn't think i'd have this much dilema selling it. how do the people selling the prongs(trainers etc)get them into Aust? Are they brought through in parts as well?
  22. thanks everyone.I have now sold the collar to a lovely DOL'er so I don't have to worry about ebay now anyway, hmm hope they give me my listing money back LOL
  23. It sounds like they're referring to live animals/wildlife though to me.They allow e-collars and bark collars on ebay so why not a prong? can go up to 71cm(person i got it from had a bullmastif)but you just remove the links to suit
  24. this is the exact wording However, your (s) violates eBay's Animals, Plants and Wildlife policy and has been removed. In accordance with our User Agreement, items prohibited by law or by eBay policy are not allowed on eBay. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled. Since the sale of live animals and wildlife products is in some cases prohibited, highly regulated, or may cause harm to eBay or its members, sellers are restricted in their listing of them on eBay. Endangered or protected species, or any part of any endangered or protected species may not be listed on eBay.
  25. I had listed a spare prong collar i have on ebay and just received a letter saying that it is illigal so has been removed Is that right?
