Thank you everyone for your advice....... DOL has done it again !!!!! Where would I be without it ???? Well an update on the situation. We have very strictly stuck with the ignoring for 15-30mins before we leave and when we get home. Also majorly bringing in NILIF. We have a new dog !!!! I'm honestly sooooo proud of him. The first week we noticed a small change in his behaviour, 2nd week only the occasional thing was damaged and this week.... ready for it...... absolutely nothing chewed on (other than his toys), total calm when we get home and no holes dug. As soon as we start revving up for games etc he gets all excited and now calms as soon as we call it quits. Thank you everyone. You've not only helped us but you've helped Chopper enormously. to DOL

Ohhhhhhh I'm sorry hunny.... I was going on and on about all the crap in my life and your having a hard time too and I didn't ask. God I'm a selfish b***h sometimes. I have the perfect solution for Axel's little problem........ Tell him that no more teddybear hugs are coming till he behaves himself. He won't be able to resist that !!!!!

Leenie thanks from me for that information too.... Chopper has a mild case of it as well and that info helps alot.

I wash Chopper whenever he starts smelling like a dog... which fortunately is only every 4-6 weeks. Although I can imagine during summer it won't be that often with him jumping in his pool everyday. :rolleyes:

I think I'm seriously going to have to tape my mouth and tie up my hands just to get through it. Just the idea alone is killing me already!

You know one thing I've never understood in DOL.... Why people just want to start trouble. Are their lives reall that sad and depressing???? Actually it's kinda funny to watch from here..... I wonder if they realise people are laughing at them ??? Hmmmmmm

It makes alot of sense really. That would be why Chop does this. A friend once said that Chopper would probably end up with this because of coming from having a very unsettled life then coming to us and being absolutely spoilt rotten. Do you agree? What can I do to stop this (and backing off from the spoiling and love will not happen but other suggestions would help) ???? Also do you think the anxiety will be reduced once the new puppy comes along? Thanks everyone!!!!!

I'm loving this thread............ Learning heaps and starting to get a million questions and scenerios in my head but I'll save them for later in case they are answered before I ask.

I'm the furthest thing from an expert but I use Advantix and it's been wonderful for Chopper..... not one scratch since we've had him. (pretty good for a staffy with a sensitive coat)

I'm definitely going... if anybody would like a lift, please let me know and we can car pool.
