  1. I had a look at the weekend weather forecast and now it says showers for Saturday(developing) and Sunday(clearing). That would be such a shame if the grounds aren't up to the weather conditions. I've seen you guys out there every weekend working toward this and I I'm hoping the agility ground surface gods will be in your favour. What time of year are the Perth Nats on? The obedience nats are on over there too.
  2. I didn't get to see you guys before I left last Sunday and just wanted to say: GOOD LUCK FOR THIS WEEKEND ;) (that includes a couple of other Ballarat members who'll be there) Go and kick some butt (unless it's Tollers you're competing against of course ) You've all put in heaps of work and deserve to do really well. I'd love to be able to come down to cheer you on but unfortunately I won't be able to this weekend. If you've got any photos I'd love to see them. Are there any other DOLers going to the Nationals.
  3. Going to the Melbourne Show? That's a fantastic shot ruthless.
  4. HEEYYYY. I haven't looked on here for ages and when I do, I find THIS!!!! Cheeky bugger
  5. It sounds as though you're having heaps of fun with him. Now to find a name. This site has heaps of names. http://www.aussiethings.com.au/babynames/kboy.htm
  6. Congratulations Erny. God he's a little cutie ;) and he sounds so smart. ;) Have fun with him and a few more photos of him would be good.
  7. You've made it home safe and sound. :p Congratulations again Sandi and Scoota. It was great to meet you both and yes, Scoota's tail was wagging and he looked like such a happy boy. :D :p
  8. Here's a couple of short clips of Scoota and Ptolomy in the winner of winners. http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a155/2to...ng%20Retriever/ http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a155/2to...ng%20Retriever/ and here's the handsome boy.
  9. A while ago I was given a demo of a remote training collar. First it was attached to my arm, and the setting was on something like 9 (I can't remember all of the numbers exactly but it gives you an idea). I think it could go up as high as 30??? I felt the slightest tingle on my arm and it only lasted a split second. Then it was put on my dog and the setting was 3. On this day we'd left his tennis ball at the dam and was desperate to go and get it back. He was constantly pulling to get there. His lead was taken off and when he took himself past a certain point the collar was activated and in no time at all he got the hang of it and knew he couldn't just run off. If anyone knows Tollers they'd know that they're the biggest pussy's around and if they're treated harshly in any way they retreat into themselves. Todd was still wagging his tail and you could almost see him thinking about what the best thing was that he could do for himself. I like the idea that such a gentle thing was applied which made the dog think for itself. If I could afford a collar I'd get one. I think it would be easier to train a dog with a remote collar and I don't know if I'm right or not, but can't you use them for a while and then stop. See you at Anglesea flip.
  10. Good luck to everyone. If you see a group of red dogs there on Sunday, come and say hi. We'll mostly be DOLers We're Ptolomy's cheer squad.
  11. If I lived closer I'd love to come. My dogs aren't aggressive but it's a great way to get some insight into dog behaviours and ways to deal with different problems.
  12. Midol if you pm me your email address I can send you some info I've collected on this topic.
  13. Does anyone have any photos? I couldn't go so I missed all the fun. Our one team that did go, won the Border Challenge Cup.
  14. Hopefully Ptolomy will have a Toller cheer squad there. (Or for those who know Tollers a scream squad ) I'll definitely be going down on one the days. I'll watch the competitors and feel totally inadequate. I won't care though, because I'll be watching Tollers kick butt.
  15. We've got a team going but I can't go . It sounds as though it will be a great weekends racing. I'll be waiting for the photos. Trisven I tell our team that's going up to try to support a good cause. Do you make yummy bacon and egg rolls and good coffee?
  16. Hi Maree, Cathy asked that I pass on thanks to you for the portrait of Jeddah. She said she's been overwhelmed by the support she's received from everyone and is missing Jed but doing OK. It's such a bad time for all of us when our little mates go to the bridge but people like you remind us that we're not alone. Cheers Maree
  17. pappylove I hope your little girl gets well soon. Get some rest and I'll keep everything crossed for her.
  18. It's great isn't it Clover. I've sent it through to her. Do you think your mum would like something for Penny?
  19. No, if you think they sound ok we'll leave them. Those poems are hard to read. I'll send it on to her and I'm sure she'll love it. Thanks again Maree.
  20. That looks awesome Maree. Thanks again. Do you think those words sound ok or would one of the poems be better? It's hard when you don't know someone.
