  1. Maybe it's because you're used to 2 piggy retrievers and she's really just normal.
  2. I can't go unfortunately. We've got flyball at Rosebud this weekend. Todd just lurves the chase.
  3. You'll have a hard time convincing some people. I recently had Steve (k9) lined up to do a workshop at our club and someone on the committee looked at his website, saw he promoted the use of prongs and also did protection training, and they decided they didn't want to be involved. It wasn't open for discussion at all.
  4. Natasha did you fine your way home ok. Thanks for the lift this morning, it saved us loads of problems. It was a great day and my head hurts too. So much information to process. Steve was fantastic and manages to get the info across really well. I should be able to read the thread on drive now and know what people are talking about which is great for me because I had absolutely no idea before. I have to congratulate Steve for being able to talk for so long without losing his voice. I'm amazed. I got to meet a couple of dolers I hadn't met before, which I love doing. I was looking forward to meeting a couple of others but unfortunately they were sick or unable to come at the last minute. I hope you're feeling better. Thanks Vanessa for letting us use your property, you're a legend doing that on such short notice. Vanessa's place was perfect. Quite a few of the dogs really enjoyed the dam and the weather was good. It was snowing a couple of days ago and yet today most of us ended up sunburnt. Ballarat is a weird place. Thanks to Steve for putting up with all of my questions while we were organising the day and the problems we had with the venue. I hope the dolers going to Steve's other workshops this weekend have as a rewarding day as we did. I'm going to go and collapse now. See ya
  5. Maybe you'll be feeling a bit better in the morning. If you are we'd love to see you there and if your'e not I hope your'e feeling better soon. I hope everything goes well for you in Darwin.
  6. We haven't really had any more rain since yesterday so the roads should be fine. Vanessa might know.
  7. Ballarat forecast for Friday - Fine, early frost. 2-18c It's going to be a perfect day.
  8. Thanks for that KJ. Yep it should be a great day and it's not even supposed to snow. :D If you get lost give Vanessa a call. :D How long is it going to take you, 5 mins.?
  9. How about balloons on your driveway entrance? I can bring some tomorrow. I'll give you a call later about tomorrow if that's ok.
  10. Is there anyone coming on Friday who hasn't received their email showing directions etc?
  11. If you can get to the Western hwy/fwy you just have to follow that to Ballarat. We're meeting at the Ballarat Dog Club which you can access via Sturt St, the main st in Ballarat. How are you at reading maps because I can email some if you'd like. Send me a PM giving me your email address.
  12. Hi Akitagal - I know there are a couple of people coming from Melbourne but I don't exactly know what their plans are. Which part of the trip did you need help with.
  13. No problems popsicle. I've sent you a PM.
  14. I've sent everyone an email about the day. Let me know if you haven't received it. Natasha - I'll send you another map of Victoria Park showing where the dog club is. Would anyone else like one?
  15. I can vouch for that. Josh can demolish a bench with his skull, never mind the rest of him. :p
  16. Thanks for that offer Natasha. Unfortunately we've only got the one car so driving the kids around and doing doggy things gets quite tricky. If you can go, do it. The dogs have such a great time and apparently they have it at the Rosebud pet and pony thingo so you could go on Sunday and let the dogs get the hang of things and then we could have a Toller run at Rosebud. (If we get time between runs)
  17. Why are they always so far away? Not fair. :p
  18. Why are they always so far away? Not fair. :p
  19. I can't answer your question but Moses is similar to Todd in size and coat and Todd wasn't desexed until he was 2yo.
  20. I think it would be easier for you to go to the club and then follow. It's not out of your way at all. I'll send you some directions to the club.
  21. No I don't mind. I have to make sure you all get there.
  22. I've done my test run and it took 22 mins from BDOC and is roughly 25 km. ImaShepHead's place will be great and she's got a dam if it's hot for the dogs. (Thinking of you Moses). There are no shops around so everyone will have to bring their lunch and drinks and Ish has said we can make use of her fridge to store things but I'll bring and esky and ice too. There's trees for shade and I'll try to organise some extra shade cover. If it's raining, bring a raincoat. I'll PM directions to everyone but I can meet anyone at BDOC and you can follow me out there if you're uncertain. Let me know if you've got any questions.
  23. Don't stress yet, it should only add on another 15 mins. I'm doing a test run tomorrow morning so I'll let you know. If anyone's worried about getting there we might be able to meet and go there together but it seems pretty straightforward.
  24. Bumping this up again. We've got a couple of places left and it's going to be a fantastic day. For everyone who's coming there's been a venue change. The workshop is now going to be held at Scarsdale which is about 15 mins from Ballarat. ImaShepHead has said we can hold it at her property. She lives on 6 peaceful acres which from what I've seen in her photos will be perfect. Thanks heaps Vanessa. I'll PM everyone the details in the next week or two.
