  1. Makes you wonder doesn't it. Other people must only stay in business for a week!
  2. Make sure you budget for a good lift table. It really does help your back. They say the average grooming life is 3 years!!!
  3. You mean Pure Schnauzers still exist??? I think you have an advantage there showdog. You probably groom some of your puppies that have owners that want them in proper trim. Any Schnauzers I do (most nowadays aint pure regardless of what their owners think! Normally they are poodle crosses), I actually get asked to trim the beards up. Good thing too given they are normally matted solid and have 12 weeks of food glued in them.
  4. I vote for the lack of blow drying being a factor in him getting stinky too. Ask them what the point in washing a dog is, if they are going to leave him wet to pick up every little bit of dirt on his wet coat before its dried. Add to that the fact that leaving some dogs wet can contribute to them getting skin problems/fungus which means SMELL. You'll turn them around!!
  5. Isn't that because a lot of baby shampoos are designed to get rid of craddle cap?
  6. I just dilute it in an ice cream bucket and use a face washer to apply the mixture.
  7. OMG I need help. I saw this title and thought "oh great another stupid cross breed name I have to remember for work".
  8. You mean your clients actually realise they have fleas before they call you? Mine never seem to know! Or at least pretend they didn't know
  9. "oh he hurts himself all the time. Its nothing, he'll lick it better"
  10. Not to mention the fishing line and barbed wire half embedded in the flesh
  11. Should you get a blood test to see what your levels are then? Surely that's not good for anyone.
  12. You've warned him before hand and it seems to be working fine so I wouldn't worry about it anymore.
  13. The "good stuff" is Treseme?? :D I use better dog shampoos than that! I often use human shampoos on my dogs with no problems.
  14. Some of you guys are getting the deal of the century with those grooming prices!
  15. Yes many dogs are allergic to schmackos. Glad you are cutting down on the jammie wearing. I really do think a lot of dogs get skin problems over winter due to overheating. The central heating would already be drying the skin out a bit. They look cute in their jammies but imagine wearing a fur coat and then jammies on in a centrally heated house. I'd die!
  16. Could be. Could be allergic to the material. Could be rubbing on the skin. Could be over heating the skin. You can take your jumper off when you get hot....can your dog? Did you rinse rinse rinse the shampoo and then rinse again on the weekend? Dont stress. See how it looks in the morning. Hopefully it will clear up as quickly as it came on.
  17. Yeah I love Drape too but its too heavy at the moment. Thanks! I dont know what we do now though? It was really hard on saturday as the motivation was gone. We need a new goal. Haven't seen you at any shows for a while.
  18. Currently I'm using a different shampoo every wash as I'm trying to find one to suit my dog since she dropped her coat. Plush puppy, laser lites, Chris Christenson or revlon or even a mixture
