Groomers! Are You Sick Of Clueless Clients
Ari replied to qashmir's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I dont mind notes as long as they make sense. Normally when I get notes though its the husband bringing the note and the wife has written the note. Most of the time it makes no sense. It might have "short body, long legs" with no defination of what short is and what long is. When pushed to explain what they actually mean (as I know the body is normally left an inch long)....it means groom it like I normally do -
Really Good Groomer In Sydney?
Ari replied to Gomez the Norfolk's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
ah yes....I also wouldn't be taking my dog somewhere that I couldn't meet the groomer or see the grooming area. A lot of groomers are set up that way though. -

I agree. Also a lot of dogs put on an act for mum and dads benefit. They shake and tremble and as soon as the door shuts as mum leaves you can see them thinking "well that didn't work" and they trot off to their beds or run straight to me for pats. Its funny to watch ;) -
look for a new vet. You dont one that is going to be short with you for asking questions

You'll find when you slide the top section across(the seperate piece) ,if it has no grip and slides across really smoothly it needs sharpening i think it's still $10 plus post What does it mean if you cant slide the top section at all? I've had a couple come back from sharpening like that or change to be like that within a few clips.

Yep, we use Advantix. Typically we don't need to use flea preventative but Sydney has a flea infestation at the moment and so we have to treat every 2 weeks. So in otherwords, he's getting bitten by fleas enough that you need to put it on every 2 weeks. Could it just be flea allergy then?

has he been on antibiotics?

thank you for your replies!

It doesn't list what is in it on the label Morgan. I just double checked to make sure. I sprayed some on a Collie that hadn't seen a brush in 5 months. Its hair felt like cement as the owners had been applying cream for skin problems. That sucker blew out beautifully! I really thought I was going to be in trouble with that dog as its very snappy....it brushed out easily. Its certainly won me over.

Thanks Blue Fox. Seems as so noone has tried it. I broke down and tried it yesterday....I LOVE IT. I'd still like to know if it has silicone in it though. It doesn't really feel like it does.

Nothing fluff dries like a Beacon. I wish I had one but cant justify buying one until the current stand drier breaks. hmmm.....maybe I should break it...
-
I get mine from America via Ebay. They are great and the clients love them

Has anyone tried this product? Thoughts? Does anyone know if its a Silicone product?

You would think a 1/2 inch one would leave that much hair...but they dont. Its closer to an inch. It also depends on the type of coat the dog has.
-
Sounds like you need a shorter comb. Do you brush the hair up before clipping?
-
Yes they do fill while you empty but if you have bad water pressure its not going to fill up as quick as you pump out. That's what I was trying to get at in my previous post. You will still have to wait.
-
ah ok. It will help with the pressure. I think you'll find that you will go through all the water in the rinse tank before it manages to refill it though. So you will probably have to rinse...wait while it refills....rinse....etc. Plumb it with hot and cold water so you dont need to also wait for it to heat up. Do you only have cocker size dogs? If so you could get one of those halfsize hyrdobaths...I think Liberty make them.

pin brushes with bobbles that cost $90 is plus Mine last until a dog chews it. If you are paying that kind of money and its breaking so quickly send it back to where you bought it from. they should last longer than that and I would be asking for a refund
