  1. Whoa...thanks Jed...VERY interesting to me a dog without fresh meat seems weird just me though...I had NO idea such a large majority just ate bickies
  2. Do I have the wrong end of the stick here...or are there a number of people basing their dogs diets on kibble? As in kibble is the majority of what they are eating?
  3. I would definatly up the occasional to regular.... With some minced meat too perhaps... Also some more oils maybe...sardines, fish oil etc
  4. Personally I wouldn't....I wouldn't feed can food at all... Mine get heaps of fresh stuff.... Fresh chicken and mince meat fruit and Veggies (pulped) Sardines (which is canned I guess) in oil A fish oil tab Eggs every now and then Missing link....I stocked up before they went out LOL yoghurt sometimes Think thats it
  5. http://www.allivet.com/Vitamin-E-with-Sele...-p/10104-04.htm
  6. I am sure there might be, i don't know where though...Maybe have a chat to your vet?
  7. No, but they should be in the system at roughly the same time... The quantity can greatly depend on excercise the more excercise your dog gets the more Selenium and Vit E they need.
  8. If selenium is consumed without vitamin E, it is useless...In the same way if Non-Haem Iron is consumed by us without vitamin C... Selenium and Vit E are important for muscle growth...
  9. Selenium and vitamin E are very imporant in a dogs diet...and they must work together...
  10. Because we use positive reinforcement instead of cruelty and methods that don't work :p Do a search on toilet training I am sure you will find HEAPS of threads about it
  11. I have answered your question in general .... As I said there, in short yes it is mean to do that, as you can not devote the time, care and attention this puppy needs to settle her in, you also aren't able to give her, her 3 required meals a day.
  12. One of the best ways to maintain this is excercise, slow and controlled for this level of HD....Swimming I highly recommend once she has built up the muscles, work her up to something low impact like sand hills (slow and controlled) then get her doing hill work. You will built up the muscles around her pelvis and femurs to support the HD.
  13. Mine get eagle pack and I have definatly noticed the differance in their coat and energy
  14. Could you put it in a kong maybe with some meat? this will keep her eating most of the day
  15. I think soaking the kibble with warm water will make the food warm...I know it does with mine
  16. An ideal diet for her would be.... Sardines, Fresh raw mince either chicken or other meats. Yoghurt - if she will have it egg or two a week a little bit of kibble but only soaked. some fish oil tabs add some cheese or something to fatten her up a bit.
  17. it is mostly water and lacking in a lot of protein, one reason why she won't be gaining weight, because she is basically just getting water, with artificial flavours and additives. Its like a Mcdonalds diets for us, except it wont make her fat, it does nothing for her at all, except making her unhealthy.
  18. I would get her off that can food straight away...... Feed her fresh meat and mince or chicken mince if she will eat it.
  19. If your feeding kibble as well, get her a kibble in a higher fat content....
  20. add warm water to soften her meals only enuhg to soke it up not so its runny, add yoghurt and mushy meat. And make it more sort of a puree, failing that try bbq chicken.
  21. I had heard that they do not use lab x poodles any more because they were finding they could not guarantee them to be hypoallergenic and they did in fact shed!
  22. Thank you, Mickatie. I've sent Genevieve a note. Maybe editing your post also would be a wise move
