I haven't found any dogs to have staining at all that are mine personally or have lived with me. But I agree with the comments in regards to markings, some can be deceiving.

I have not received an answer in regards to the specific issue with this dogs eyes, if they are able to tell me I will get back to you. From memory though, I do believe that it did coincide with the gonio testing, perhaps it was severe drainage angles that caused tearing such as Steve suggested, but until I get confirmation that is nothing more than speculation. My first post in regards to gonio though was in reference to my belief it did coincide with this particular dog for whatever reason.

Very informative posts Steve thank you..You said it much better than I could've

This dog is not mine. I have notified the owner of the thread, they might come in here and 'enlighten' you.

Im not saying it was failed DUE to staining, who ever the vet was said that the staining occured due to the issue resulting in the failed eye test.
-
are you saying that failed eyes and staining go together, because if you are god there are a lot of dogs with bad eyes, as i said before i reckon it would be allergies, or some other irritation. what condition would cause an eye to stain that would be picked up by the eye clinic. i have noticed that dogs such as maltese and poodles that have pink around their eyes are more prone to it.... put me right anybody sue Nope, not saying that staining and failed eyes in all cases go together, but in this paticular case the vet felt the staining was due to a failed eye test. In other cases it may be coincidence, or otherwise. ETA: Thank you for those who cleared up drainage angles and its relationship with staining.

Interestingly enough I have seen a husky that failed eye testing and has severe staining.
-
Do you know what causes the eye staining though?
-
I would be curious of a huskies drainage angles, if tilted incorrectly. I would be interested to see the result of a gonioscopy eye test also on such a dog.

So I have moved 5 hours north from Newcastle :D missing it terribly. But will be here for 6-12 months renovating my mums house for her So figure may as well get a job while im here hehe. Walk into the only dog groomers within an hour circumference, and figure if they say no I will see if they will let me volunteer. Walk in ask if they need workers, She said no I said I would volunteer and that I show dogs so am pretty alright with washing and grooming etc. She hired me on the spot had me working all day and ended up paying me any way WOOHOO So I got the job I am pretty pleased

Thanks Jules Well....I can admit im not FANTASTIC at towing things Which is why I am comondered a side kick ;) I have been speaking to a lot of people that have been grooming so I am expecting to be doing mostly clipping of matted x-breeds...but hey I like to think of it this way...I would rather help the dog no matter the attitude of the owner...than leave it there all matted...I am helping the animal not doing a service for the owner  In saying that I am from a customer service/management background so know how to run a business and without customers I won't have a business....as long as the customer is always right...we should be fine I have also run more than one of my own business's before, so I understand both being an employee and being a business owner And would very much prefer being a business owner

NicoleL - THanks for the reply, I will definitely PM you if I have any more questions Peachie - Thanks SO much for your reply, it is great hearing the flipside of the story...That is really fantastic ;) ... I have added you to my msn...Let me know if it worked Vehs - That was some great info thanks...I have a REALLY strong stomach and non of the above bothers me at all...What does get me is ignorant owners that pisses me off! BUT I do understand that already and expect it. I am from 100% customer service/management environment, so I am quite comfortable in dealing with the people. I also feel quite comfortable with dealing with the dogs also  Will just see how I go I am pretty comfy with washing and blowdrying, I don't know everything but having show dogs...you definitely get used to doing it a lot

Thank you SOO much for the replies .... Lea - I am moving...up north I won't be down here NicoleL - Is it common to have a grooming space in a vet's for someone renting? Are most vets amiable to this and how did you approach them ?
