I have also had a bitch do a 3 monthly cycle on me. Before and after pups. When her pups where 8 weeks old she came into season again. (was a very strange season and did not last more than 2 weeks, with very light bleeding and not a strong smell) At first I did think it was an infection post pregnancy so to the vet we went, nothing wrong she really was in season. Over the years it has had me concerned the increased risk of pyo etc, because she has had more seasons than typical bitches of her breed. However she seems to be evening out now to a 6 monthly season. (only taken her near 5 years) I did fear her daughter would do the same, she never did though and was 11 months before her first season. So far I haven't encountered any problems with it, she went on to produce 6 healthy babies. However I understand your concern, I have had my bitch into a couple of vets to check out internals etc and she is fine. Just one of those things. I have put it down to her being a tart

From rescue work, I have lost kittens in the same way, best I could put it down to was herpes. One kitten we prolonged its life as long as possible and i think its the worst thing we ever did, we worked around the clock tube/bottle feeding etc and in the end it kept growing BUT grew almost alien like, its face became elongated like a dog, it was very bizarre to watch and absolutely heart breaking when I lost her. Mother nature knows best, sometimes they just arent meant to me and we will never know exactly why. Its heart breaking not to put your all into saving them, from previous experience most of my efforts have been futile though (I would like to add, the instances I have seen this have come from already sick, rescue animals, not experienced it in planned matings for myself)

Order Of Group Judging
~Myschafis~ replied to Bilbo_Baggins_Junior's topic in General Dog Discussion
Actually from a Non Sporting Person I always hear other groups being called for BOB's to line up for the group, well before we are done. But yes it is annoying waiting, I really wish they would mix it up a bit over a 3 day show etc cant hurt really can it? -
Thank you for your help Anyone got any ideas on how far apart and order can be without it being considered a 'mulitple' order

T-Time - Watch this space more infor TBA :D It is for commercial use :D From what I can tell it doesn't matter whether it is for commercial or personal use if you can keep the item under $1000 in AUD at the time of export, your pretty much in the clear no duty or GST, as long as there aren't multiple shipments in a short space of time... I have no idea what a short space of time is. I haven't really seen much info at all regardless of comercial or personal, there doesn't seem to be a difference. Not overly soon, we still have a few finer details to nut out

I was told I had to fill out paperwork and submit it they can't tell me over the phone or get a customs broker.

Hi All I was wondering if anyone could help me. For anyone that imports dog products, shampoos/grooming tools etc... At a cost over $1000 What tariff is used through customs? Cheers, Katie

Thanks to all the replies so far. I have edited the poll to include multiple choice answers for those that have more than one dog. -
Do You Feed Your Dogs Morning, Night Or Both.
~Myschafis~ replied to ~Myschafis~'s topic in General Dog Discussion
Thanks -
Just curious as to when people feed their dogs. Morning or Night, or both... If in the event they feed both, is it because they are feeding a younger dog. If you feed more than twice a day thats OK just click both and age appropriate Thanks everyone ETA: Do you think it makes a difference to the dogs health?

What breed? Siberian Husky How old was the dog? Under 12 months (both times) Was there a familial component? Not that I am aware of What was the dog being fed? Need some detail of what exactly - if dry food, which one, if raw, what it was Dry Food - Supercoat How often was he fed? Once daily or more? Twice daily Was his bowl elevated, or on the ground? On the Ground What was he doing when he bloated? (ie, at a show, at home, playing, at home alone) Home Has he bloated more than once? Twice Has he had a gastrowhatsit? LOL (too lazy to look it up, but you'll know ) No Did he ever bloat after that? Did the dog also suffer GDV No Did it have surgery? No What was done to relieve the bloat? Stretched her out and consistently rubbed her stomach... After that point we turned the bowl upside down and fed her in the cracks on the underside of the bowl to prevent her scoffing food. After 12 months of age she settled and it hasn't happened again

General Specials Results Maitland Show
~Myschafis~ replied to angelsophie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sorry didn't stick around for general specials, was happy to shoot off home andc get the kids out of the heat -
I like the gentle touch of sarcasm The handler in front of me this time had already asked for heaps of room on the grounds that their dog had previously been attacked. So I did have room to move, but doing so would have taken up that space I was leaving them. I should have said tough, I'm being crowded from behind so you lose the extra space I've given you, and if the one behind follows it becomes even more blatant and a reason to move out of line. I will next time. I think its enough to make them realise they are probably being a nasty pastie without making a scene. If they persist perhaps stronger methods need to be inforced
-
If someone has stacked right up my butt, and it would appear intentional I just say "sorry I havent given you enough room, you stay there and I will move forward" If not intentional I just move forward ETA: If you have someone in front of you already, be sure to give yourself plenty of room if you feel the exhibitor may stack too close...that way you can still move forward without getting too close to the person in front

I would love to make my own bling leads, I am just not sure where to start with them.

Do You Give Your Bitch Raspberry Tablets

Used it with my girls litter... Its hard to know if it helped or not, she had a good whelping -
Are they staffy's?
-
I am guessing as this is a puppy the breeder is merely trying to ensure the puppy is setting in well.
