Just an update! I had a chat to a vet on VetChat and she said if the lump doesn't go away in a week or 2, then take him to a vet. The lump has shrunk so he must have just bumped his back, so that's a relief!

Hi, I have a puppy thats 1.4yrs old and hes a Jack Russell cross. He has a slight bump on his lower back, but its gotten more noticeable over the months. It feels like one of his vertebrae which has gotten big, or a vertebrae that popped out? Hes not experiencing any sensitivity or pain when I touch it, and hes happy and active. He's eating normally and not acting strange. I will be taking him to the vet eventually, but thought I'd write here in case someone might have an idea of what it could be first. I can't really find anything online that would indicate what something like this could be. Ideas? Thanks -Zookoo

Just an update!!! It disappeared about half an hour after I posted. It must have been a strongly attached eye booger!

Hi, Before I take my dog to the vet, I was wondering if anyone knows or has seen this in dogs? I've attached some pictures. I noticed today that my dog has a translucent jelly-like stripe on his cornea. I thought it might be eye goop so I tried to wash it away with some saline drops, but it hasn't gone away. It seems to be staying on the same spot on the cornea, and doesn't float around. He doesn't seem to be in any pain and isn't scratching it with his paws. Theres no discharge in the corner of his eye either. Not sure if he might have scratched his cornea? Or is this just goop that comes and goes? If anyone seen this and suspect what it might be, please let me know!

Yes he is short haired like a Staffy or smooth coated Jack Russell

He is a mix, but his dominant breed would be JackRussell. Apparently he has a bit of French bulldog, but he resembles more like a Jack russell x Staffy.

Hi all, My dog has grass allergies, so after I take him out I would rinse him with water. I don't use shampoo to retain his natural oils. That seems to prevent his itchy body and he doesn't get hives anymore. However, every 2 months he would start pawing at his eyes which leads to conjunctivitis. I've been wiping his eyes with warm (slightly salted) water every day, but it doesn't seem to prevent the eye itchiness. I always take him to the vet when it happens and he always gets a steroid injection and antibiotics. But this doesn't seem sustainable if I need to take him to the vet every 2 months. If he takes too many antibiotics, his immunity may resist it over time. I'm not sure if anyone in this forum has had similar problems? And is there a natural way to prevent conjunctivitis that I could try? Cheers, Sandra
