I have sent a pup (Basset Hound) to Singapore. I used Dogtainers who took care of everything for me. As the person is only wanting a pet I would be desexing the pup before it leaves, this also helps to weed out the ones who only want to breed but don't tell you. All my pups that have been sent overseas as pets have been desexed. Leanne

My Stafford boy would never mate my girls if we where watching (fine with outside girls). I would put them together and then go and hide, once he thought we where gone he was straight in. Leanne

If you had a prick eared breed show pup at 10 weeks old with a rosed ear would you leave it or glue/tape it? Pup is not teething and the ear only sort of stands up when the pup is running, dare say because of the bounce. Leanne

All up the box itself cost just under $100, far cheaper to make than by. I had the place cut the timber to size as well so it was easier. For bedding I use eggcup foam cut to size and then place it inside a single bed quilt cover, the cover is big enough to fold back over a couple times (keeping the foam dry). I pick up quilt covers from the op shops for $1-$2, the foam I bought from target ($32 for single bed size) and got a couple pieces for the box out of it. Leanne

I would be doing an xray a few days before she is due to check the size of the pup. I have had singletons born via c-section because the pup was to big to pass naturally. Leanne

I had a Bloodhound that did this. I changed her food over to EaglePack Giant Adult dry food and she was back to normal in just a couple weeks. Large/giant breeds need low protien food. Leanne

Getting A Dog And Stuck On Breeds, Advice Appreciated
Ozstar replied to Ozone's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would suggest rescueing a greyhound. They can survive on your walks (all though they would also love time for free running in an enclosed area) and would love to hang around the house with you. A Basset Hound is a very vocal breed and also very strong willed and a breed I would not recommend for a first timer. Leanne -
I no longer walk my dogs around the town because of the same thing always happening. I now drive out of town (only a few km's for me) and walk them on the back roads, no houses and hardly any traffic Leanne

Think they must be looking at another show missymoo :D There is no baby at Adelaide Royal and the boxer only got 4th in group. Thanks again for all the results. Leanne

It is classed as a fawn but is a dilute of blue. Some breeders will call it a blue fawn. Leanne

Urgent Advice Required - Back To Back Litter After C Section
Ozstar replied to Delviktar's topic in Breeders Community
I have done a back to back with c-sections but there was 11 months inbetween litters. Bitch only had small litters 2-3 but had big pups (double the size of avergae litters). I personlly would wait another season as 7 months (by the time she is due) is not that long for the scar to heal properly. The best thing would be to ask the vet who did the last c-section and see what his/her opinion is. Leanne -
Double Digets For Puppies Expected In Next Litter
Ozstar replied to Tapua's topic in Breeders Community
I make up my own milk using 1 tin of evaporated milk to 1 tin of cooled boiled water. You can add an egg yolk if you like but I never have. This formula will last a week in the fridge. A pup weighing between 350g - 500g normally drinks between 20 -30mls but every pup differs. I just fill up the bottle and write down what each pup drinks (measurements are on the side of the bottle). I have tried other formulas and have found this one the best and have nice fat healthy babies. Good luck with your litter. Leanne -
I use a heat lamp (used for pigs and chickens) for the first few weeks then a heat pad if it is cold. Both are placed in a corner so the bitch can move away from the heat sorce. Leanne

Hand Raising A Pup And Need Ideas For More Weight Gain?
Ozstar replied to Wilderblu's topic in Breeders Community
I have had pups from time to time like this and I am sorry to say that none have made it past 5 weeks old. No matter what I have done they just don't grow like they should and die suddenly when you least expect it. Have even had them running, playing and eating solids but half the size of the rest of the litter. I did have one autopsied and it had internal organ problems. I wish you all the best. Leanne -
I would not sell a pup to anyone I did not feel comfortable with. Looks etc do not bother me, it is how they would treat, teach and nourish the pup that matters. Leanne
