  1. An allergy to a foreign substance can occur in anybody and does not require certain bloodlines to be predisposed to it. Apologies for "insulting" you.
  2. Sorry for your loss, but how do you know the dye used in the myelogram was not the cause of the issue? Maybe he was allergic? I don't think there is any point going after the breeder or anyone else for that matter. The autopsy may help you find the cause and give you closure but you need to settle down and allow yourself to grieve, rather than seeking to blame somebody. Bad stuff just happens for no reason sometimes.
  3. One cause of excess saliva is nausea. Please take your dog to the vet without delay if you feel something is wrong.
  4. I wouldn't be feeding any carbs at all. What about just minced chicken frames with a good natural supplements such as Green pet or Pet ark.
  5. Sorry I don't know your full story but remember that dogs pick up vibes from you, so stop stressing. Have you tried apple cider vinegar> Splash a little in their food and gradually build up to about a teaspoon a day. Also apply to itchy areas on the skin? Leave them be, feed a natural diet, plenty of exercise, and no drugs if possible (just the basic preventatives for worms and fleas), especially no cortisone or medicated shampoos.
  6. Have you actually had a conversation with this breeder? There are millions of alarm bells going off in your posts and I would be cutting my losses and starting again if you have your heart set on this particular breed. It will be much easier to walk away now rather than later on if things don't go well. Be aware that one parent being tested does not mean the pup is unaffected. One parent can be tested a carrier and if the other parent's status is unknown, you are asking for trouble. I suspect PRA will be the least of your concerns if you go ahead with this pup.
  7. No it is not normal. take him to the vet.
  8. Signs of a bowel obstruction - they still have an appetite but cant keep anything down. If it was soft plastic it should go through Ok. Were there sharp edges on the metal bit and did you see what it looked like before it was swallowed so you know what to look for when it comes out? If the object gets through the first valve from the stomach to the small intestine, you have about 12 hours I reckon to expect it to come out. My pup recently had a feed of garden stones, one big one came back up as it was too big to get through the first junction. Pup kept vomiting afterwards so he had an XRay which revealed a smaller stone lodged in the gut. Surgery revealed it was stuck at the junction of small and large intestine. good luck, you will know if there is a problem by morning.
  9. This is a question you need to direct to the vet who did the surgery. Nobody here can tell you if it is usual. I hope she comes good soon, sounds like you have both been through the wars and more.
  10. Looks like a sebaceous cyst. I would leave it alone unless it is biopsied as a nasty, in which case please do not let a regular vet remove it, see an eye specialist.
  11. Be careful with fish oils as it can work as an anticoagulant. My dog was on Synflex, he underwent surgery and had serious bleeding issues during surgery and needed an extra night in hospital. I stopped the synflex and took him back 6 weeks later for clotting tests which were all normal.. Loxicam has a side effect of gastric irritation and bleeding so please take care when using them together.
  12. Pet ark is good http://www.petark.com.au/
  13. Perhaps you should refrain from posting considering you seem to be in a bad mood and are not making sense.
  14. Given you've only been a member here since the start of the year you may want to be a bit more supportive of topics that you have seen before, you'll see it alot more in the future, if they irritate you just don't click into them. Who died and made you god? I don't believe anybody died and made anyone God. Sas was making a valid point. No such thing as a topic being done to death when there are new members joining up all the time and new input becomes available. On the other hand, narky and useless comments such as yours need to stop being done to death.

  16. Yep, have done. Just thought I would get some opinions of recommended breeders, as Dogzonline is where my friend Deb got her puppy from that has had a multitude of problems Oh Wow! No, she didn't get the puppy from Dogzonline but from a breeder who is listed as an independent breeder on the puppy pages of Dogzonline. If your friend's dog has problems she should take it up with the breeder. There is no way I would buy from the DOL puppy pages without a personal recommendation. Word of mouth is the best way to do it.
  17. Otoflush can be used to clean the ears prior to adding treatment drops. It cleans the ears out and gives the medication better access to work.(please don't put tea down your dog's ears)
  18. I'd be trying laser treatment if is what the specialist dermatologists have recommended. The dog is only two and he is in pain and discomfort. How expensive is it?
  19. Blot the urine out with paper towel - fold the towel into 3 or 4, place on stain and then step on it to absorb as much as you can. Then spray the area with neat white vinegar. Leave for a minute then use the paper towels again to soak the vinegar up.
