  1. Exactly. I could never imagine any vet saying that seriously.
  2. Trim fur as closely as possible. Clean all folds thoroughly with a cotton wool swab soaked in natural apple cider vinegar. Will be much improved after one clean. Repeat once or twice a day until the smell is gone - should only take a day or so. ACV kills bacteria on contact.
  3. If you are in Melbourne I would take her to Barry Heywood.
  4. Something that would also work well is the BFI powder Mum had in the medicine cupboard when were kids. Google reveals it is no longer being manufactured in Aus but I found something that made me laugh http://www.lifewithdogs.tv/2011/08/the-day-i-thought-my-dog-was-dying/
  5. Rub some Curash powder into the spot to dry it out. Don't add moisture as that will make it worse.
  6. Sad but true. Until the dog population is reduced to levels that cause shelters and rescues to go out of business, I'm pro de-sexing before selling. Also vets will let you know if it isn't safe to de-sex. My youngest was desexed around 6/7 months. She couldn't get done any younger because her vag-jar-jar was too tucked away, the vet wanted it to come down further before de-sexing to reduce infection when she got older. You should have let her have a season prior to desexing. You may still have issues with her. A season would have allowed her genitalia to develop far more.
  7. You think that Bigdaz made a comment that was a "tad rude"???! Well then by all means being a "tad rude" is justification for bringing all your freinds along to beat the crap out of poor Big daz. Go ahead then, dont let me stop you.. damn it Troy, please bring back the eye rolling man!
  8. The opinion added somebody else's views to the discussion. Because they differ to the majority, how does that equate to stirring?. Everybody is entititled to have their opinions respected, no matter whether people agree with them or not. Many older threads are bumped on this forum, two weeks is hardly old. Not everyone lives on this forum constantly. Nobody deserves to be berated, ganged up on, and abused, merely for offering a different view. Now I guess it is my turn to be abused as I have not gone along with the majority and belted Bigdaz around the ears. EFS.
  9. Wow, Big daz has a different opinion and beliefs and for that gets called a troll and bigsilly and thoroughly jumped on! I can see nothing nasty in their post, just a very different opinion to everyone else. Why can we not just say thanks for your opinion, but I don't share it?
  10. If your dog is in areas where there are grass seeds you need to check them thoroughly every day, the same way you would for ticks. Best way to do it is invest in a forced air dryer, put them up in a table and blow the coat so you can visualise every bit of skin, with focus on between toes, between paw pads, underarms, genitals and ears. Put snoods on them when they are out to prevent longer ears picking up seeds which can then work their way down ear canals. You could also trim their feet closely.
  11. Sorry, but if the buyer does not meet the breeder's expectations they can choose to not sell the pup, regardless of whether the buyer wants to go ahead. Ultimately, it is up to the breeder, she is responsible for bringing the pups into the world. This case in particular isn't that the breeder doesn't want to sell me the pup, she's a little too over the top. What I look like or what the inside of my home looks like proves absolutely nothing. It will help towards proving to the breeder that you are genuine. Are you not able to visit and meet her?
  12. So why the post about being interrogated, if you would do the same thing in her place?
  13. Sorry, but if the buyer does not meet the breeder's expectations they can choose to not sell the pup, regardless of whether the buyer wants to go ahead.
  14. Maybe you don't realise, it is not up to you in the end :)
  15. Coats vary a lot naturally. You will find they are all different. Hormones play a role in coat maintenance so desexing age makes no difference. Once the hormones are gone the coat often changes.
  16. Desexing will alter the coat no matter what age they are desexed. I would not buy from a breeder who desexes babies, they need their hormones to grow and develop properly.
  17. Oh so you have changed your mind since your original post then? OK. Whatever. We HAVE discussed the increases to death :) I pulled up the other 41 discussion for you http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&fromMainBar=1
  18. I thought discussion of designer dog issues was against forum rules.
  19. Funny how there is not one single name on the website, the only form of contact is through a gmail address and it is based in Sale - home of the puppy farmers. I hope nobody takes this seriously.
  20. Medical honey. Good luck stopping him licking it off though.
  21. I would have reacted as he did. This is correct off leash park etiquette.
  22. Maybe its your computer that has gone down hill. I am watching, have been watching all day. Currently there is 1011 people watching. It has all been beautifully presented and great to have such a good view from the lounge at home!
