I'd feed the necks whole without bashing them. The bones are small enough to be easily digested even if they do go down in one swallow. If he swallowed wings whole that might be a little more of a worry. Don't stop giving them, give necks whole and bash the wings a bit. Or if you are still worried, use kitchen scissors to cut the necks into pieces and mix with his other food.

That's great that the breeder is letting you choose a name for her. Why not play around with it a bit, have maybe De Liscious Lucy or Delightful Lucy or Divine Lucy..... You know that her kennel name and call name do not have to be the same. In fact, unless you show or breed her, no-one will ever know her registered name unless you tell them.

In humans they use lithotripsy, which breaks up the stones with ultrasonic shockwaves. http://www.svhm.org.au/lithotripsy/background.htm I doubt that vet hospitals would have such expensive equipment. Would certainly be worth asking them as it is far less invasive and very successful.

I'm sorry to hear about your boy, and isn't it typical on a public holiday as well? Used to happen to me all the time but we seem to have gotten through that phase now I'm just curious about what the vet thinks will rupture? His bladder? I hope they put a catheter in and empty his bladder first thing to put him out of his discomfort. If they do that there should be need to be worrying about anything rupturing. Good luck and i hope it's not too tough on the hip pocket. Please keep us informed.

How is the dog? Has he been taken to see a vet yet? If he does this all the time can I also suggest you practice puppy proofing, supervision, even a crate to keep him out of mischief if you can't keep things where he can't get at them.

Have you fed that amount of salt before without illeffect? Did you tell the vet you fed the salt? I am concerned more about the salt than the flannel, not saying the flannel won't be a problem. Your dog may suffer kidney damage at worst and dehydration at least. Please take the advice you were given and take him to the vet ASAP.

Contact an emergency vet and ask for advice. You will find one in the yellow pages. DO NOT feed your dog any more salt and make sure you tell the vet how much salt you have given him.

Margief, it's always good to see someone doing their research and going about breeding dogs in the proper way. The purebred world can do with people like you Bitches in season can be a handful. Do you have entire males also, as you may find life is very difficult for a few weeks if so! Keep an eye on her as Jed says, even if you think your yard is secure, supervise when she goes out for loo breaks. The dangerous time is usually from around day 7 and can least right up to day 21. All bitches are different though and you will hear some horror stories about accidental matings even from the best and most experienced breeders. Things will get messy around the house so lay down some old sheets and towels or use bitch sanitary pants on her. You may find her behaviour will change also, she may get moody or frisky. She sounds lovely, and if you decide you want to breed her, seek out the support of your breeder or others who have experience in the breed. Good luck.

Crate training is the answer to heaps of puppy problems. If you buy a crate and put the pup in it when he is inside, place it somewhere where he can see you, it will keep him out of trouble. Put his toys in with him, feed him in there... no need to supervise anymore and he will have a safe place he can retreat to and call his own. It's a wonderful solution, also helps with the toilet training as they generally learn not to go when in the crate. Edit to say: puppies need to chew. You control their environment, so don't leave anything within their reach that you don't want chewed. As it is a bit difficult to move the furniture, you need to contain the pup.

I think that would be more to do with the fact you have bought meat from a pet supply store and not a butcher. I always buy from the butcher and never have a problem if feeding meat before freezing. The one exception was when I bought some mince from a pet store and it was on the nose by the next day, so have never done that again. Don't forget also, that freezing kills off Vitamin E and if you will need to make sure it is given in some other form.

Grooming In Canberra

That's right. Also unnecessary and off topic. How about YOU retract your unecessary and off topic comments so you don't offend a genuine dog lover who came here seeking advice for a particular concern and nothing else? -

Whether you agree with Eridor or not is beside the point. This person came here seeking grooming advice, NOT asking people's opinions on what type of dog she has. Honestly I cannot believe the rudeness of some people on this forum -
Chicken necks make a fabulous component of a pupy diet. They have protein, fat and calcium all in the one yummy teeth cleaning snack. Be aware the pup may have trouble with them if she is teething though. You can chop them into little pieces if she does.

I don't see anywhere in canberra labradoodles post asking what breeds her dog is based on Welcome to the Dogzonline CL, I can't help you with a Canberra groomer but would love to know what your dog's coat is like to manage. Does it mat up easily? The pictures I have seen they look so shaggy and furry! Good on you for seeking professional grooming -
Two 6 Week Chihuahuas Home Alone
Florise replied to mhouston222001's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
No registered and reputable breeder would let pups go before 8 weeks of age, and I suspect that good chi breeders would wait till they are at least 10-12 weeks. The accepted practice in this country is that pups are vaccinated at 6 weeks, although research does suggest 8 weeks may be a better age because of antibodies from Mum. The breeder should give the first vaccination and allow 2 weeks for the vacc to take effect before she allows them to leave her property. Anything less is irresponsible and dangerous to the pups. Are the pups registered and have pedigree papers? At what age are you actually getting them?
