Sway along with less staff and more members we also had far less rules and regs and far MORE volunteer involvement and only one venue to support/maintain. The dog world has changed so much in the 40+ years I have been involved. It used to be more social, less restrictive....much like society itself I suppose. In most two people households both partners are working full time and have less time to assist by volunteering in their chosen hobby. There is also the other aspect where people expect everything and do nothing. A dog section at an ag society would actually be run by a committee not just one person in constant battle with the rest of the society for equal rights for our hobby. A complaint in at the office could be dealt with, without the side issues of VCAT, lawyers and courts. This made it far more efficient. Things could be handled straight away without the need for the involvement of a whole committee or two and then being held up by outside forces. I feel that this also solved issues rather than the time lag creating bigger issues along the way. Sorry this post ended up being way off topic.

I cannot understand why 50% of lectures cannot be done at KCC and 50% at Bulla and then the following year alternate. That way aspirants could attend 100% over 2 years at the closest venue. Its not rocket science.......OR IS IT.

So many fantasti things to look forward to for everyone. I would likt to borrow Pointers Rule month....would love to have that sort of success again, its been a few years but then again I havent really shown very much. I do them in order recieved. If we were to do them alpha all the time, then some exhibitors could say that being first/last all the time discriminates their dogs. By it being more random everyone gets a go and being first last or middle. In age order particularly with youngsters, it is important that they learn about dogs in front and dogs behind them.

I saw a pic of OBS/Olivia's gorgeous trophy...........what a great award. Well done to all those who recieved them.

Please be careful what print you put your details in......there is nothing worse than doing a catalogue and having to strain your eyes to read the entry form......then people wonder why their details are incorrect. I just LOVES printed entry forms...........................(as long as the information on them is correct and legible)
