I do get dog gear from other countries as well. I never thought of Israel.
-
I think you may be right. I don't mind paying for quality and prefer to pay for something that I know will last.
-
I am currently working on that. It is just annoying that I can't get it here or even shipped here. If I can organise it, I will be getting spares like I normally do.
-
I normally buy all of our leads and collars from the states. They have the type I like and I can't find anywhere here that has them, especially in the colours I like. Last time I bought some leads from the US I actually got some spares as well. It can be hard to find a company in the US that will ship them to OZ. My daughter and I were looking for a collar and lead for our week old pup and the ones we really like are from the US but that company does not ship them here. They are the same make as the ones we usually use for pups but this style is nicer. Why can't we have a better range available here? Maybe I should get in contact with the manufacturers. There could be an opening for distributing them here.

Thanks BB. Faith is continuing to do well. She is such a sweet girl. Tyra hates being away from her.
-
Thank you CL. Faith is still doing well. She is always at the milk bar an is getting chubby. She is strong and determined but we haven't let down our guard yet. I have to go to work soon but my daughter will be keeping a close eye on her and I can be home in 10 - 15 minutes if I am needed. Luckily my daughter knows what to do if anything happens.
-
Thanks Becks. Faith is doing well so far. Every time you look at her she is at the milk bar. She is already special to us but I know what you mean.
-
Thanks BB. The remaining girl seems to be really healthy. She is just about always plugged into the milk bar. She is motoring around and is pushing herself up. She is not showing any of the signs that her sister showed. As for the name, I won't be telling until it is official. ;)
-
Thanks MM. We had a change of plans and have come up with what we think is the perfect name for the remaining girl. It goes against the themes we have for our girls but, oh well.
-
Thanks Fifi. The other girl seems to be strong and healthy. She is eating well and really moving around. She is putting on weight but not as fast as our bigger pups have.
-
We are really upset. Our smallest girl has just passed away. We tried everything to save her but it was of no use. It makes the remaining girl more precious. We were refering to her as Ebony as she was a lot darker than the other girl. RIP little Ebony. At least you will have your brother to keep you company.

Grover Is Really Sick - Another Change
Norskgra replied to Trisven13's topic in General Dog Discussion
All my thoughts are with you, Steve and Grover at this time. I really hope that DOL can pull off another one of their miracles and Griver is soon back to his normal self. -
She is lucky I could find any. All of the whelping stuff is right at the back of the shed. Some of it she used with her last litter and the rest I have washed was bought new for Angel. I am sure Angel won't mind her half-sisters using the bedding. Actually, the sheet in the photo was used for her last litter.
-
We were never going to mate Tyra again. I just grab what I had and knew was clean when we brought Tyra and the babies home. I had to get some whelping sheets and blankets out of the shed and washed them this morning before I went to work. Don't worry, my daughter was home. I have changed the bed and we are using some of Tyra's old whelping stuff and some of Angel's. That was the first bag I found.
-
She is definately a lot happier this time round.
-
Thanks Ellz. After nearly losing Tyra last time we didn't want to risk losing her again. I guess she had other ideas. Here is a photo of Tyra and her surprise packages.
-
I know you weren't aiming it at me specifically. I have been doing a lot of thinking too Ellz. I have to agree with SBT123. When I had my first litter 30 years ago, we never had as many problems as now. We didn't have the vet advancements then either and the girls were really only given basic care. They normally didn't have many problems at all. After what happened with Tyra this time, I have decided to basically go back to how I used to do it 30 years ago.
-
Thank you LMWS. I was so sorry to hear your news but I am very glad that your two boys are thriving. Here is a photo of Tyra and her surprise packages.
-
Thanks everyone. Tyra is doing such a great job this time. She doesn't want to leave them to go to the toilet. She is washing and toileting them and they are always being fed. It is so much different to the last time.
-
Thanks CL. I already know two Elkies that have Hush and Wisper in their names.
-
Her theme is Rolls Royce. We used the series of Silver Rolls with her last time. Angel is Silver Seraph. I don't like the other Roll's names for girls. ETA - We are pretty sure that Kari is not in whelp but after what happened with Tyra, who knows!
-
Thanks Becks. I will get my daughter to post some photos today. The girl we have from Tyra's first litter is called Angel.
-
We all survived the first night. We hardly slept at all but that is normal when you have a litter. They may be small but they are very active.
-
Thanks BB. He was absolutely huge but we think he was stuck and that is why he died. Tyra didn't show any symptoms of being in labour either. The kennel owners are very upset that they didn't notice she was in labour before they found her with two pups.
