  1. I think you will find, it is up to the individual vets. Some do it at 6, 10 and 12 weeks. Some do it at 8, 12 and 16 weeks and others do 8 and 12 weeks. The same way that some vets still insist on yearly vaccinations instead od 3 yearly or titre testing.

  2. ETA: my pups only get two puppy shots, so investigate this too

I just noticed this. Why only 2? Mine will need his first at 6 or 7 weeks, before he gets here, then again at 12 and 16 weeks.

The 'new' recommended vaccination regime is 8 and 12 weeks followed by 12 months after the last puppy shot.

  3. Faith had her first smashed chicken neck last night. I didn't cut it up into smaller pieces like I normally would for babies. Vicsta held on to it for Faith. Poor Vicsta nearly lost her fingers, Faith loved it so much. :o Normally Faith insists on watching Neighbours while she eats and you are not allowed to get in her way so she can't see it. This time she couldn't care about Neighbours until she had eaten the chicken neck. I will get her some wings or wing tips when I next go shopping. She really prefers chicken to beef.

  5. On a more serious note, it was very nice to finally meet you and chat to you and your daughter about your dogs and their breed, I love 'em :(

It was great to finally meet you as well, Cassie. Both Prada and Mooch's. sires came from SA. You did meet Prada's sire an grand sire at the Pet Expo and we own Mooch's sire.

  6. She is very determined. Last night my daughter was feeding her while I was at work. Vicsta took Faith into the loungeroom so she was away from all the others. Faith decided she wanted t watch Neighbours on TV. Every time Vicsta's head got in the way, Faith would move so she could keep watching. The bowl had to be held in such a way that she could still watch TV while she was eating. Faith wouldn't take her eyes off the TV. When her mince was all gone, she barked at Vicsta and 'told her off'.

  7. I'm so glad you posted here. I read about Tyra's adventures and the lost of two of the babies, but of course when I went to respond, I couldn't. You must have gone on an absolute rollercoaster of emotions - I was sad enough  . But excited too that little Faith is presenting so well.

Thank you MM. Yes, we went through a real rollercoaster of emotions. I was in shock when the kennels rang me. I still had 2 1/2 hours of work left. I came up with an excuse and they found someone to cover the rest of my shift. I probably broke the speed limit getting to her. I am very thankful of the owners of the kennel for staying with Tyra. They are also judges. If we decide to keep Faith we won't be able to show her under them for a while though.

We didn't take our eyes off Faith for quite a while. If I was at work, my daughter was at home. Luckily, I only work 10 - 15 minutes from home.

She is coming along in leaps and bounds. She was slow to put on weight at first but look at her now. :) She is so bossy though!
