Sorry, Sugee I should have thought. The link does work but it is in Off Topic and you need 150 posts to have access to it. You can pm Cockerlover who makes them. Here are the details of the leads: The three is the photos are slip leads and I have ordered three clip leads as well in the lenght I wanted. It is so hard to find anything with Elkies on it in Australia.

I agree, there has to be more to the story. I know I had my daughter quite a few years ago but I woke at her slightest sound or movement from as soon as she was born. I am also the same when we have pups.

I just wanted to plug the beautiful Elkhound leads that Cockerlover made. The photos don't do them justice. I was so impressed that I have ordered more. Here is the thread about the leads Leads

Very Sad News From The Midniara Household Rip Buddy
Norskgra replied to ~Shepherd~'s topic in Rainbow Bridge
I am so sorry for the loss of your gorgeous Buddy. -
This thread is very timely. I decided that I didn't really like my website and it really needed updating. Luckily, Vicsta works in IT and is currently working on our new site when she has time.

We are so sorry for your loss, James. Our sincerest condolences to you and your family. It is always hard to lose someone you love but especially under these circumstances.

Here is the recipe for the beef liver remedy. It is really good if pups are fading. BEEF LIVER REMEDY FOR FADING PUPPIES It's so simple.....Large piece of Beef Liver, little bit of water, boil slowly, about 5 minutes until the blood comes out. Let cool, drain the liquid and put just 4 drops (no matter the breed) into a dropper and give to puppy. At first you give it every 2 hours for 12 hours, then every 4 hours. The article says you can do this for however long you have to, until you feel the puppy is thriving.

One of my dogs is 9 weeks old and her chicken necks are no longer smashed. She is also given chicken wings which she loves. We do still hold the end of the necks so that she can't swollen them whole though.

I have twp that were impossible to get and keep weight on. They could eat the amount of raw food that was needed to get the weight where it should be. I tried all of the super premium power foods and none of tghem worked for these two, including Artemis Power. The only food that has worked is Uncle Albers or Great Barko. I have one on each of these as one of the two can not tolerate beef. I don't feed nearly as much as the feeding guide recommends.

I wouldn't say it was any harder to purchase an Elkie show potential puppy than other breeds. You might have to wait a little while but you will get one.

I bought a VZ Commodore for the dogs. It was great until I had to tow a furniture trailer over to Adelaide and it was gutless. I have now boguht them a Pajero and it is definately better. The dogs really love it. It has heaps of room. It is a seven seater but we have taken one of the seats out of the back.

Thanks everyone. I will give them all a call and discuss their regime. Today and Friday are my days off so I have plenty of time in between give the house a thorough clean prior to our rent inspection next Tuesday.
-
Thanks evryone. The reason I am asking for recommendations is because we only moved from Sydney late last year. They do not know many vets here. They have recommended a reproduction specialist if we need one.
-
That is what I will be doing SBT. I just wondered if anyone had heard of this 'new' regime.
-
Apart from the 6, 8 and 10 week vaccinations, they were also approximately twice the price of another vet I contacted. There is no way I will vaccinate at 6, 8 and 10 weeks.
-
Thanks Ness. It is not the idea of three shots that surprised me. It was the time between them. Normally it is 4 weeks between vaccinations, not two.
-
That is what I thought.

I know that this has been discussed numerous times but this is the first time I have heard of this. Faith is six weeks old and will be due to have her first vaccination soon. I called a vet this morning to find out what regime they follow. They have recently changed to vaccinate at 6, 8 and 10 weeks. this seems very close between the needles to me. Has anyone heard of vaccinating this close together before. I want to vaccinate at approximately 8 and 12 weeks.
-
I bred my first litter of pups approximately 30 years ago and I am very fussy when it comes to vets. What most of the local dog owners would be happy with, I probably wouldn't. This is the first time in all these years that I have ever heard of this vaccination regime. They are not my vets, they were just one that had been recommended by someone.

I am at Forestville but I don't mind travelling for a great vet.
-
I had never heard of it before either. I want to do the one at approximately 8 weeks and another at 12 weeks or so.

Faith is 6 weeks old and will be due for her first vaccination soon. I am after some recommendations for a good vet in Adealide. I rang up one that is supposed to be good. They give their vaccinations at 6, 8 and 10 weeks which seems a bit too close together to me.

You should try living with Elkhounds.
