Hi, I have had terriers and a beautiful Portuguese Water Dog , both passed on . found the terriers hard work so wishing to avoid that category. looking for recommendations on small companion lap dog that not a terrier, low energy, not prone to barking, happy for a slow walk daily, I’m happy to groom as needed, good with small respectful children, friendly towards strangers and other dogs. Easy to train off leach. we live at the beach so a dog that would like to water . thanks
