Try mixing a really smelly fishy cat food into her food...I found that worked quite well with Daegon when he wouldn't eat for 5 days. Even if she does eat just cat food for a while, it's not going to do her any great harm and at least she wont keep losing weight. Anything is better than nothing, especially if she wont even take nutrigel :D

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that
-
I have no idea I'm sorry, but I hope that your dog is going to be OK. Please let us know how he's going
-
Oh Jodie I'm so, so very sorry. I was hoping for good news but it wasn't to be. Definately try and see about alternative therapies, it can't do any harm. Thinking of you
-
Good to hear it sounds as though things have gone well! Still hoping for good results of those lymph node tests
-
Thinking of you Jodie. I hope the surgery is a success and that there's been no spreading
-
Not sure what could be causing it sorry, but when my pup had an infection on top of his ear that made a complete mess I just kept bathing it in salt water and it cleared up within days...but if it's not clearing up I'd definately be taking your dog to the vet.
-
My only advice is get her to the vet NOW, don't hang around for answers or for your appointment time.
-
Thank you everyone, your thoughts are most appreciated I'm hoping she's here for many more years to come as well, she's a lovely old girl...here's a photo, although she's much more white around the old face now
-
That looks like one of my dog's heads did after some twit bashed him with a broom handle He came up with a rather hard large lump looking suspicious so I took him to the vet. I didn't realise it had come up because of this guy hitting him over the head as it didn't come up for nearly a week later. I was paranoid it was bone cancer too. The vet took a look and said to wait it out as sometimes dogs get these around their heads and they do go down. Took about a month or so, but it did go away...so wasn't bone cancer, just some kind of swelling that happens.
-
Thanks guys It is all good news so far. The vet listened to her heart as well and apparently it all sounds fine...so HOPEFULLY she's just in a bit of pain as well as the humidity as you said Brigantia and that the course of injections will help that.
-
Just heard from my Dad...Tajah's chest sounds clear but my Mum asked for chest xrays just in case, so they're being done now and if anything bad comes from those they'll call me. The lumps have almost all disappeared...so dunno what they were. She still has some fatty lumps but she's gotten those for quite a few years now, not sure what they're caused by. Her breathing could be just because of the humid weather lately. She is also going to be started on a course of injections for arthritis. A huge thank you to those of you who replied to my post, it is greatly appreciated. I've been very upset about this and was more upset when I didn't see anyone posting to help, although I know that many just wouldn't know. It meant a lot that you guys took the time to at least aknowledge you didn't know and to offer your sympathy. Thank you

Thanks guys, hopefully I'll have more news tomorrow afternoon
-
Nobody has any idea??
-
Thanks Jodie, it's got me feeling rather down. My dad has already said that if she's in any kind of pain he will have her PTS. I know that's for the best, but we've had her since she was 12 months old and it's so hard to know that she's unlikely to be with us much longer Is your Ollie going to be OK?
-
My family's dog is going to the vet tomorrow...but I don't think they're going to get very good news. The dog is an 11 or 12 year old staffy X who is very sore in the joints, has lumps appearing all over her body and her breathing is very fast. Anyone know what might be happening? Possible cancer spread to the lungs?

What's this biozet stuff? And how do you use it on the carpet? My loungeroom carpet stinks like all hell and has done since I first moved in...I've tried those shake and vac things the no vac things...but nothing actually gets the smell OUT, just covers it up. So, what would I have to do with biozet?
-
Just goes to show that all dogs react different because I've NEVER had a single problem feeding supercoat
-
I wouldn't say that Tony, dogs are individuals and react differently to ingredients, just like people do.
-
Supercoat Puppy meat and meat by-products (from chicken and beef) wholegrain cereals (wheat and/or sorghum) wheat bran whole inseeds iodised salt mixed natural tocopherols (Vitamin E) rosemary plant extract vitamins (A,D,E,K,B1,B6, Niacin, Riboflavin, Folic acid, Choline, Biotin, B12) trace minerals (iron, zinc, copper, manganese) garlic kelp I'm feeding my pup on this and definately haven't had any aggression issues or any other issues for that matter, he seems to be doing quiet well on it until I can afford RC. The supercoat definately isn't as moist or smelly as the Royal Canin, but obviously is far more tasty than Eukanuba because my pup wouldn't touch Eukanuba but will happily eat supercoat, he'd still prefer RC though, and so would I.

Thanks Steve, looks like I've got some reading to do
-
Thanks for that Steve. Would ground bone meal be found on the ingredients list, listed as such or perhaps under a different name?? Also, Daegon gets plenty of sunlight when he's outside for at least part of the day.
-
YES, actually I DO think it's the best thing for my dog. It certainly hasn't been the best thing for me trying different kibbles to find one that he likes. Daegon gets very fussy with his food, he went through a stage where he would eat NOTHING but chicken wings, and I mean NOTHING. That is NOT a healthy diet, sure, if he ate other things along with it and he preferred that diet to kibble then I would feed him that...but he doesn't. He's happy eating kibble now, I know it's got the things in it he needs and he AND I are happy with that. I have been through this over and over here. I am asking for advice, and if I knock something back that doesn't mean I'm not listening to everything else.
-
OK, so some people are saying it's a dietry thing, others are saying to raise the bowls, some are saying add calcium others are saying definately don't add calcium...getting rather confused here Daegon is staying on kibble, it's my preference for his feeding, he's a damn fussy eater as it is and there's NO way he's going to go back to eating just chicken wings again. The pet mince is mostly ground up chicken carcass with lots of other stuff thrown in from what I can tell. Daegon already gets ACV in his water on most days, when I remember...chewable vitamins, like the kids ones?? Also why the fluoride free water?
-
Yes, Daegon drinks tap water with ACV (most day).
