  1. Yep that would be the one. None of the stuff with flavours or fruit, just the plain natural yoghurt...Greek style I think it might be.
  2. That's fantastic!! :D Daegon who is 8 months had his very first obedience lesson yesterday and he made me so proud just by not acting like a dork the whole lesson Sounds like you guys are doing great! I hope Daegon does so well :D
  3. Yep it was quite hot. Temps here are stronger than temps on the mainland, they really are. I got quite burnt and now have a lovely red burn line where my clothes were sitting :p Daegon feels the heat quite badly so hopefully next week wont be quite as warm for him. I was surprised how well he did for a dog who has the attention span of a flea, maybe he was just putting on a good show for his first time and from now on he'll be the bugger he is at home
  4. Ooh more Hobart people ;) Class went OK today...Daegon was absolutely stuffed by the heat I think and so didn't really play up...except he wont stay still Kovu has done it all before so he wasn't too bad, my partner had a bit of a tug of war with him before it all started though, but he settled down pretty quickly. There were so many people there today!! And so many little dogs :p It's going to be a good fear confronter for me having to be around small dogs every week :p Kovu may not be there next week, I have no idea how he's done it but he's cut one of his front paws and the skin is hanging off it. He can't put much weight on it the poor thing. So he's all bandaged up and crated for a while. Hope he's feeling better soon, he looks so miserable. I might just let him sleep on the bed with me tonight.
  5. That's a really good idea actually. My partner will be handling the GSD for at least the first lesson (thought I'd better give him the easier one!) so I'll let him know...should hopefully help a lot. It will be hectic in the clubhouse, such a tiny thing it is too
  6. Must be such an incredibly hard time for you. I will be thinking of you
  7. Eeek, I hope it's not too hectic...Kovu is gonna go NUTS!
  8. Thanks for your replies guys ;) Yes I will be starting up at the domain tomorrow. I'll be there at 1 for the 1.30 class (my partner and I have to join membership and stuff first so we'll make sure we get there a little early). I have a German Shepherd Dog and a Rottweiler. The shepherd has passed grade 1 ages ago now but hasn't done any training since and is a highly strung dog when out and about so I figured I'd better run him through everything all over again. The Rottweiler is gonna be the difficult one I think, soooo stubborn and lazy I don't mind how long it takes at all, it's not my intention to get through everything as quickly as possible, sorry if I gave that impression...I was just wanting to get a really rough estimate is all. The most important thing for me is that it's fun for the dogs and they learn some darn manners :D If you see a guy and girl with a GSD and a Rotty that'll be me...trying to be as patient as possible! Come say hello
  9. Daegon and Kovu are starting grade 1 on Sunday...I'm all nervous! I would like to work them both towards their titles...but Daegon is a stubborn shiite and Kovu has the attention span of a flea and is always far more focussed on everything around him other than who is training him...so those will be fun things to overcome. Breeeaaathhee.... Um, anyone know roughly how long it takes to work through everything and start trialling and to gain the obedience title? I know it would depend upon a lot of things, but just a really rough guestimate would be good...just so I get an idea of what I'll be getting myself in for :D
  10. Thanks for that Trace, I thought it was just the concrete but wanted to be sure...I actually think he has them on his elbows too now I come to think of it. I dunno why he'd chew one off either...perhaps he was biting at something on his leg and he pulled it off
  11. Thank you very much for answering me :D Do you think then it's just because he likes to thump himself down on the concrete? Also my house has no underlay (cheap housing department crap) so it's thin carpet straight to concrete. Would him dropping himself to the ground be causing these spots? They're only on his back legs.
  12. Can someone please tell me if these are hotspots? The one that looks raw has just been chewed off by Kovu and used to look black like the other one in the photo. The one that is black has been there for quite some time...I thought maybe it was just because he lies on concrete a lot.
  13. Oh no! We were not long reading about how he was ready to go to a new home :D
  14. Hang in there Jodie, you're doing everything you possibly can for him
  15. There's probably a few products like this that can be used for both dogs and people. I know the last time I had an ear infection I was given ear drops that vets often give dogs.
  16. Both my dogs are on Bonnie, Kovu is on Working Dog and Daegon on their puppy formula but he is moving to the Working dog now as his puppy food is almost out. I also feed chicken wings/carcasses and pet mince.
  17. Glad I've read this thread. Daegon's puppy food is nearly finished now and I was just going to go out and buy it again on Tuesday...think I'll just start swapping him over to Kovu's food now (Bonnie Working Dog). Daegon likes that so much more than the puppy formula anyways...not sure why I can't remember how old Kovu was when I swapped him over, but I do think it was around 7 months, which Daegon is nearly 8 months now, so I suppose it's time. He just doesn't seem that big for an 8 month old Rotty pup so I keep forgetting he's as old as he is
  18. Oh, I am so very sorry ;) :D
  19. I hope she's doing OK
  20. I'm so sorry KitKat, may he rest in peace
  21. Animals are odd...my cats much prefer eating the dogs food and my dogs much prefer eating the cats food
  22. Perhaps try satin balls to put the weight back on her? Daegon was a fussy eater too...only thing he would eat for weeks was chicken wings He starved himself for 5 days and now he's a pretty good eater...had a few off days this past week but I'm thinking it's maybe the weather change here. Mixing wet cat food in with his kibble worked for me ;)
  23. Holy carp...doesn't sound like a cold to me...more like infection or something ETA: tell them to get to another vet!!
  24. My family's dog has just finised a course of catrophen injections and she's like a new dog! Was a little bit ill for a couple of days but that may have even been from something else. She had an injection every week for 4 weeks and wont have anymore for 6-12 months.
