  1. I will get some oranges and see if he'll eat them, pears are more his thing though I just can't believe the difference in the knuckling of his feet. It hasn't correct the 'east west' but that's been passed down from his dad too, but the knuckling is a huge improvement.
  2. I think the Vitamin C helps the body to absorb the calcium in their diet. The zinc I am giving for other reasons, nothing to do with his feet
  3. Well Daegon has been getting Vitamin C and Zinc for the last 4 weeks and it's given fantastic results for knuckling his front feet up. I wish I had taken a proper before photo to show you how splayed and messy they were. This is how they are now, huge difference from the beginning
  4. Oh you guys you've made me cry :D What a beautiful tribute to your gorgeous dogs you've given Imogen and Olivia, it's given such an insight into their personalities. I was very fortunate to meet Dallie last night and what a gentle old soul she is. My thoughts are with you all tomorrow. You are giving your babies the most loving gift you can give, you're showing them enough love to let them go. They'll be waiting at the Bridge for you
  5. Hi Ruth In class we're told that if the dog breaks the stay to growl, get infront of them right away and put them straight back into position. If they break again put them back into position again without talking to them. If you start the exercise all over again, that is, you walk the dog back around to put it in position the dog thinks what it did was alright and you're just starting over. Sasha needs to realise moving is wrong and she's not going to get anywhere for it.
  6. I'd like to see a Pomeranian do that
  7. I'm training my GSD in drive and he used to sometimes toss his head around with the ball after he'd captured it. Now we're further into the training it's every single time. Will have to ask K9 Force about that as perhaps he's needing more drive satisfaction The poor boy goes BONKERS when he sees that particular toy now. And when I go out into the backyard with him, if I don't have the toy he picks up the nearest thing that could be a toy...like a small piece of string/small rock/peg/anything he can find (?!) and tosses it around
  8. Ha, yes it was most cute seeing this little 8 week old Rotty pup 'killing' the squeaky bone toy and come bounding back with it asking for more As lazy as the bugger is, if you play a certain way with him you can't stop him.
  9. I *think* I remember reading about this somewhere, but I can't remember where and I can't remember what it said Is there some kind of 'meaning' for it? I know it's probably got something to do with the dog 'killing' their prey once they've caught it, but does it mean anything as far as drives go? I play a game with my Rottweiler Daegon, it's the towel game. He has one special towel that he's allowed to run at and grab and tug at a bit before I release it for him. He lurrrrves it. After he's 'won' the towel he gives it a really hard shake, he's done this at 8 1/2 weeks old as well. Then after he's 'killed' it he keeps hold of it in his mouth and comes and stands next to me with it and sometimes shoves it back at me as if to say "again mum, again!" I use it as a motivator to get him up and excited about something (as well as the famous broom bashing game ). He gets really revved up about it and just loves working in that kind of way. So, just wondering if there's anything to it in the way of drive, or his possible work potential?
  10. OMG you lot must be loaded I have: a few collars that don't get used 2 leather leashes care of K9 Force and the people who voted for Kovu 1 harness 2 check chains 1 prong collar 2 nylon leads that wont get used anymore dowling trainer for dumbell work I think that's it. I want more doggy stuff :D
  11. Sounds like they're playing to me. Unless one is backing down and screaming for the other to stop let them play. My two get on the floor and "sing" to each other, making these very cute high pitched throat noises. It's not often they have a full-blown argument, it's very easy to tell play fighting and full on fighting apart. When my guys are arguing over something they'll come up on their back legs and the hackles come up, the lips curl and you see the whites of their eyes. The growling noise changes. If you hear it you'll hear the difference between fighting and playing.
  12. Thanks! ;) You will have to come and say hi next time so I know who you are
  13. Will you be at the Longford show on the 21st of October? ;)
  14. It's a dog. Would I eat cat poo? F*** no, but both my dogs would jump at the chance.
  15. I agree with Smithy. Do you see absolutely everything that goes in your pup's mouth while they're outside? My dogs eat cat poop if they can get to it, and goodness knows what kind of stuff they're getting into when they go out to the river. They're dogs, dogs eat gross stuff and they survive.
  16. The bike pump is actually to get Daegon conditioned up for the show at Longford on the 21st of October (USA judge, ;)) and the Royal 5 days later. But I'll be taking Kovu along with me to start getting him ready for the next ET trial if they hold one down this way ;)
  17. Please bring the bike pump on Sunday ;) And no, you're not norty...I just need to be able to find my hand held thingy in the spare room somewhere...but I'm quite sure I threw it out
