  1. From what I know undershots do not correct, as the lower jaw is the last bone to finish growing
  2. She looks very sweet curled up in there
  3. No worries There is one problem though...we need photos of your puppy...ESPECIALLY as it's a Rotty X
  4. I don't use this method on my dogs, it works for some, I just choose not to use it. When my two were puppies I would make a yelping noise when they bit me. It worked for one dog, and not the other...the second puppy was a very dominant and pushy boy. If the yelping noise doesn't make your dog back off then say no in a firm, growly voice. If these things don't work you can also turn your back on the puppy, cross your arms and ignore her...don't look at her, don't talk to her, nothing. You can also try putting her away for time out. Best method I found though was growling, it's how dogs communicate with other dogs. Your dog wont dislike you for saying no, puppies like to test the waters and see where the boundaries are. Your puppy is going to be one very big, powerful dog, so you MUST get ontop of things very early. You need to make sure that she sees you as the alpha of the pack, that you are the leader. Do a seach on here for NILIF (nothing in life is free), that should return some good results for you to show you how to ensure your puppy sees you as the leader. Right now Make sure that you socialise Jazz well, having her meet new people, children, cats, other dogs, new situations, places, noises, objects etc. etc. etc. Ignore any unsure or frightened responses and praise the good ones. And welcome to DOL
  5. Thanks Trace, it would be even better if he were stacking behind a sheep
  6. Thanks TD! I was very pleased with him and got comments on his great movement so that was a big plus
  7. Drive is going to work for Daegon in the ring...I took him to see the horses today at the Ag show...weeeellll, that brought it out big time. Waiting outside the ring he was quivering and raring to go in the ring, settled down well in there and showed the best he has ever done. Sheep and horses make the dog work, probably cattle too seems Rottweilers were cattle dogs
  8. I think it will have to be a 'must do' for Daegon, he CAN look great, but he chooses not to because he is a lazy bum and hates stacking so he makes himself look as bad as he possibly can...which is bad
  9. Thanks everyone :p I hope that this is just some silly phase he is going through, he used to be a pretty good eater and would clear his bowl and look for more...but for the last 7 weeks it's been a real struggle to get him to eat anything. For now I may have to resort to force feeding him, he has 3 shows in the next 7 days. I did force feed him once but the look on his face just made me want to cry again. He'd hold the food in his mouth looking so sad I have been wondering about switching him to BARF, Kovu wants nothing to do with BARF and gives me filthy looks if I put anything but kibble in his bowl...he also did shocking on it and looked terrible...Daegon did alright. The thing stopping me feeding BARF to Daegon is I just can't get my head around it, even reading links and whatever I just can't get it If anyone does feed BARF and they could give me an exact menu of what they feed for a week that I could follow so it's right then I'd swap him over no worries, providing he decides he'll eat that ETA: I don't think there's any health issues, he had a checkup when he had his adult booster vaccination a few weeks ago and he's not a stressy kinda dog, the lazy boy sleeps all day if you let him :D
  10. And we're back to not eating WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! I NEED him to eat and he is refusing and I just don't know what to do anymore. It is that frustrating it has brought me to tears on more than one occasion (not that I let him see that). He drops weight so fast, overnight in fact, and can go from looking good to terrible in a matter of 2 days. I can't show him when he's doing this and I can't tolerate this refusal to eat enough anymore either.
  11. I wouldn't be thinking a squeaky toy because I think that is rude, but Daegon seems to think sheep and towels out to be grabbed, so maybe sheep wool or a facewasher rolled up or something
  12. Oh he is gorgeous! Hope that he's feeling better soon
  13. That's not always true. Daegon love the whole show day and he loves gaiting...but when it comes to stacking he stiffens up, straightens his back legs and roaches his back something shocking, he HATES stacking. I want to train him in drive for a toy to stack, I dunno how to do it but nothing else works...no food, no nothing, unless my other dog is standing right next to him (because Daegon thinks Kovu will get the treat if he doesn't stack).
  14. I have heard that usually when dogs do this it's because they've been given too much food in one meal, so they store it for later
  15. It may be Kennel Cough, it's rampant at the moment. Make sure you take your puppy to the vet tomorrow, they will probably give you an anti-biotic to fight off any secondary infection that may set in from the virus. Dogs who have been vaccinated for Kennel Cough still get it
  16. Poor magpie baby poor parent magpies too
  17. Oh gawd, working Rottweilers, I'm going to go nuts waiting
  18. I would want the basic obedience and competition heeling DVDs. I may just have to bed and plead with my parents that I REALLY need more doggy stuff for Christmas...they've already offered me early Christmas money to buy some shoes for showing
  19. Now, now Gotta, we allll know about that fake halo of yours! It's quite clear I'm the only :D here.
  20. :D:rofl: TB you shoulda tried sticking her under hot water first ETA: sorry about your thread samoyedman, kinda get used to that around here
  21. :D nice one Gotta...try keeping the quotes in the right forums! One of my puppies was very easy to teach not to bite, all it took was yelping and then he'd get this look on his face as if to say, ohhh sorry! and he'd come back licking. The other puppy was an absolute monster when I got him, I have never seen anything like it and honestly thought 'what have I gotten myself into?'. It took weeks of constant discipline to get him to stop biting...he would full on charge and bite and keep coming back at you no matter how many times you yelped, growled, ahh ahhed, ignored him, turned away, walked out etc. etc. NOTHING worked, he was a very pushy puppy. The only thing that worked for him was a very firm scruffing and growling. Only took once for him to know I meant business and I've never had a problem since. I do not like being so firm with puppies, but he was just completely over the top and growing into a big, powerful breed I had to get very firm, fast. Now he's an angel...except when he's destroying something
