just for clarification: Raw meaty bones- do thiese include like Lamb Ribs- you can buy a whole lambs ribcage at the supermarket- my dogs love them and i have often alternate kibble for a segment of ribs im only feeding kibble again cos of money constraints, lack of a large freezer AND i was worried i wasnt doing it right they get chicken wings and necks after every meal which is either kibble or alternativly ox tail or lamb neck or lamb ribcage but i do want to go back to total barf now that im more financially stable, and have managed to get access to a freezer i love the concept of RMB being a big part of the diet as i too was getting sick of opening up pet mince and smelling fermented fruit or finding weird blue and purple Unidentifiable objects in wot was suppost to be strictly beef or roo- when i go back to bark i wont be buying mince rather buying the meat and having it minced or micning it myself but can u guys give me some examples of different RMB unless wot i have sed above is esactly that? i also give O-Ren fish oil omega 3 tablets daily- in only 2 weeks of taking them i already have her almost trained, i say take your pill, and she basically lets me put it on her tongue and she will swallow it, soon i hope to have her taking them from my hand question- i was giving her 1000mg daily, but i notice that others are giving 3000mg, she is about 16kg active border collie- wot would you recommned

both elka and the pup should be trained and disaplined to eat oly from their owne bowls so then everyone eats from their own bowls, with ampl distance- none would have a problem Elka was around first so of course she is possessive, i had this prob with o_ren altho she didnt get violent, just loud and the hackles went up at meal times- in her mind i wasnt suppose to be feeding him at all nowadays they share bowls

YES! i totally agree, its tough, but if u get the rewards you were after then AMEN to ya, my dogs get a mixture of both atm, kibble and bones and chicken necks/wings etc- its cheaper and more convinient but only time will tell if its the best for them- i love the saying kitkat used- the best dog food is the food your dog does best on... amen to that

But isnt there the issue of the deadly preservatives that were found in "Pet Mince" (220, 221 etc ) the same with these patties? i gues its all down to trust, but wholsomely all you can do to assure ur pets are getting ALL and ONLY wot u want them to get is by buying the ingredience optimally human grade and makeing there meels urself right? So rediculous that it comes to this, companies doing every thing they can to make a buck and save another buck elswhere

yeh i know, O-Ren was on barf for about 4-5months, ive gone to kibble cos i am low on money atm and having trouble keepin my head above water, dont worry dogs come first, but i bort a huge bag of super coat cos 15dollars that lasts months instead of 3days seemed better, theyl be goin back on barf soon as i have safe income comin in- not sure if O-Ren looked better or not on Barf, but i know she LOVED dinner times- she is obsessed with raw chicken and was less hyper- but atm im tryin to stem this allergy, whilst on holiday it cured itself, now its back, im using quit-itch and it seems to stop her licking and itching but yeh, anyhwo il look it up anywayz thanks
-
o`ren licks her lower belly as a comfort thing when she gets anxious, atm im just trying to keep her as happy as possible, but i worry about when i go back to work- cos i know she stresses when i leave- becuase she is dripping with saliva and bald! ive used RR, but il try some of these suggested probucts too, thanks good luck with ur Pug

Buying Flea And Tick Treatments Online
O-Ren replied to Natashja's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
i have fast postage too im probly gonna try frontline next time advantage doesnt work 100% -
sky- exactly as for the colorful bikkies, it ses on the ingredients it contains NATURAL preservatives and coloring, this also could be a play on words, like how kfc used to use Chicken Fillet - which was the brand name being 'chicken' so we were eating chicken branded fillet NOT chicken flesh fillets lol i dont think il be buyin it again anywayz, O`ren isnt too keen on it, she prefers supercoat active, i think she prefers the blander bikkies, plus her skin allergy seemed to get better when she was on supercoat she seems to have a kind of eczema (looks like mine!) il take her to the vet for a fresh opinion about wot to feed her, can anyone vouch for the kibble that actuually ses its Allergy prone dogs specific?
-
Had to buy some cos i got back from holiday and was all out- Onyx ate me out of home whilst i was away!!! they didnt have Supercoat or anything (late night shopping for ya, no stock!) so i grabbed some Pal Natural chicken/rice bikkies its ses it has no artificial colors or preservatives, which is suppose to be good right? what are your thorts on PALs new marketing thing, its their PAL Natural good? or baaad? or just plain old marketing

there is a reason vets exist, its becuase not everyone is certified to diagnose someone with this or that would you NOT take your child to the doc if he/she started losing her hair and developed a rash? If u really dont want to take the staffy to the vet/or put her on drugs then Perhaps reword your request for help- like: Anyone know any good Alternative methods, advice on homeopathic or natural remedies???

No i havent tried frontline- perhaps i should??? only trouble is i have 6months worth of Advange!!!!!!

So i put O`ren and Onyx on Advantage in mid March- with wonderful effects- overnight they had no fleas- however hard i searched, but this miracle only lasted ohh 12days??? Now, there are other dogs on the same property that are NOT flea treated- but dont seem to be as affected by the fleas as mine- O`ren gets pretty damn itchy and has removed the coat from her bottom and tail thru biting, and onyx well, he just itches, whereas the other dogs dont seem to notice too much- tho they do itch (note these dogs are aged 2, 7 and 8yrs) Am i wasting my time, and money buying Advantage for my dogs if the others arent trreated? should i ALSO get them the flea injection from the vet? is there a better product then Advantage? Also has anyone used Malawash an Insecticidal wash for dogs, cats, poultry for fleas and ticks- apart from smelling alot like NAtphalene (sp?) does anyone else have a success story? AGHGHGHGHGHG im so sick of here!!! apart from other reasons- this is possibly another reason why i need to get outta here! all help and opinions are welcomed

hhahahaha I wish O`ren was that loving of all things squirty- once i pick up annnything that squirts like Advantage flea treatment, the Good Oil i put in her food or even teh water spray i use when grooming her- she dives into her crate and wont come out, even with promising treats she drags her feet!!! QUESTION: what kind of vit E cream would you reccommend? is parfumless scentless etc Sorbelene ok? i use this myself cos it has NOTHING else in it and is quite rich- would it be ok for O`rens dry spots? she has a almost 100% bald bottom from pulling out her own coat due to fleas, since advantage the fleas have decreased (but not dissappeared ) so her coat is returing but the skin is stil on the mend
-
so glad someone posted a q about this!!! i have been querying about it myself. im going to get it, dont know til you try right!

o`ren is already on Sentinal Spectrum but i was wondering which to treat her for fleas- SS is not helping the flea prob- vet suggested either revolution or advantage on top of the SS..or if someone can suggest an even better idea id love to hear it we live rural where its dry and dusty and grassy with cows and sheep around so flea/tick treatment is a must

Which is more a/effective in your honest opinion???? From what i have seen the only difference according to them and ppl i ask who sell it is the price difference :) HELP? thanking you all
-
i think i could do this- because o`ren is one of those barkers that if you wont throw the toy/ball she barks at you once... i could roll with that then teach NOT to bark unless i ask her....right??? cos i hate her barking at me to throw the ball- its rude!!!1

Dog Allergy -wandering Dew?
O-Ren replied to biancalouise78's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
i am having the same prob with O-ren i have started to bath her a bit more often, atm twice a week with some oatmeal based shampoo from the vet, it leaves her coat so soft and knotless, so im allready happy with the result on her coat but yes i fear o-ren may also suffer paspalum allergy cos we got rid of the wandering jew when we thort of that.... but i also think stress/anxiety is also plaiging my dog so she is nibbling and lickiing the bite-like sores and her coat is disappearing around her underside and bum il be askin the vet about some antihistamines or somethinig, not sure about teh cortizone... she doesnt have to be EXACTLY like her mummy, both of us on cort... NO WAY!!! -
i think we need more piccies, of first signs of hotspots, this is interesting

see my thread also about being CONFUSED about all this dieting stuff! it also has some great advice in it

thanks Ruth, i also have noticed a decrease in her hyperactivities, she stil loves to play and will do so until she is buggered but does not have to the hyper attititude since goin on barf (at first i was worried tho cos i thort she was lackin in her usual hyper energy was a bad thing) but she stil has the energy but is much better at obeying me when i say "enough" or "no" her itchin is slowly gettin better too, ive purchased some anisceptic "bitterent" from the vet for her self inflicted abrasions to recover her coat- seh itches even tho she is flea-less but the untouched coat is shinier then ever, plus i also got some Oil stuff to add to her diet, for her coat does anyone else use this kinda thing? it has vitamins and oils in it for coats can i add i have found that with BARF she is finishing her meals, wolfing down the mince and chicken necks and lappin up the egg, much more enthusastic about dinner then before so if i was to cut out bikkies altogether, she would not be disadvantaged Ruth??? (becos i know that if i did- she wouldnt miss them she only eats them cos i tell her too, otherwise she leaves them in the bowl id prob just use them as treats when training until they were gone ???? ;) thanks
